《Sang Insane | ✔》Chapter Twenty Four

"Wheeee!" I shriek as the ground races up to hug me.
I tuck and roll with Star's help.
Luke, unfortunately, is groaning in pain and holding his left leg.
"Luke! Are you okay?! I know that this is terrible. You are probably going to be traumatized for life, but don't worry, I have a solution. We just have to hurt your other leg and you will be balanced again," I reassure him.
"Would you like to jump off the roof and land on your other leg or should I get the hammer?" I ask seriously.
Luke's eyes widen.
"I'm good! I'm good! It doesn't even hurt that bad!" He shrieks frantically.
I sigh.
'Tis truly a shame.
That woulda been fun.
"Ooh! I have a stash of soda that would go great with this!!" Luke shouts.
My buzzing intensifies at the mere thought of more sugar.
We sprint back to the kitchen where the others catch us.
Literally.
"Sang Baby, what is going on?!" North Star bellows.
"We need the soda!" I bellow back.
Like, seriously.
He is holding me by my shoulders and he is going to bellow in my face?
I don't think so!
I stomp on his foot, drive my elbow into his nose, and deliver a body blow to his side.
Body blow!
I giggle at myself.
While North Star is clutching his foot and trying to stop the bleeding in his nose, I race to the soda where Luke has already downed a liter.
I grab my own bottle as they race over to stop me.
Too slow, suckers!
I gulp it all down like my life depends on it.
Oh, wait.
My life DOES depend on it!
I cradle the empty orange soda bottle.
My poor, poor baby is empty!
Like my belly...
I throw the fridge open, but strong arms pull me back.
I growl with frustration.
All I want is some food!
"Thank goodness! Someone is stopping you! Stop it, Sang!" Sarah cries as Star roars, "How dare they stop us from eating?! Kill them!"
You'll never guess who I decide to listen to.
I rake my claws, I mean finger nails, down Marc's face and body.
"Put me down!" I order.

"Help me restrain her!" Marc shouts.
Paprika ties my wrists together in front of me and my feet to the table.
I laugh hysterically again.
I yank my arms apart and snap the rope.
With deft fingers, I untie the rope around my feet.
Raven yells in Russian, "Sang! No more eating sugar!"
I give him my best puppy dog and and stick my lip in it and call tears to my eyes.
Raven covers his eyes and yells, "No! No sugar!"
North Star shouts his agreement, holding his nose.
I stick my tongue out at them and race to the dining room to fulfill my dreams.
I have dreamed my whole life (okay, fine, since I heard the song on the radio of the bus) of doing this.
I run, leap, and grab the chandelier. I start swinging back and forth.
"I'M GOING TO SWING FROM THE CHANDELIER! FROM THE CHANDELIER!" I sing out at the top of my lungs.
I belt out the song until some idiot yanks me down and tries to hold me still.
I threw my head back and hit someone's nose with my head.
I grin at the crunching sound.
I push the unknown attacker off and race to the kitchen.
But not to eat.
To arm myself.
I grab the deadliest weapon known to human kind.
The frying pan.
Realizing I had a couple minutes before they came in, I decide to use the pan as an oversized microphone.
"ARE YOU INSANE LIKE ME?! ARE YOU IN PAIN LIKE ME?!" I belt out.
I don't know why, but something about the song seemed to fit.
When the boys follow my voice, I am ready with my frying pan.
I quickly knock Kota out, but I am too busy laughing at his unconscious body and Paprika is able to grab me.
I struggle.
I try hard.
But my efforts are futile.
Soon, Luke and I are tied together.
And, let me tell you, being tied up is no fun. Especially when both of you are trembling from sugar intake.
The boys try to reassure us, but I am laughing too hard to hear them.
Oddly enough, Sarah is siding with them.
Who does she share a body with again?!

I think I passed out at some point because I come to groggy and tired on a marshmallow.
Whaaa?
I sit up and see that I am in a bedroom that has way too much black in it and North Star is slumped at a wooden desk.
"Hello, Marshmallow!" I giggle at my rhyme.
North Star groans, "Sang Baby, you are grounded from sugar for the rest of your life! You're still hyper!"
I roll my eyes.
"No, North Star. I am not still hyper. I just made a rhyme. Chillax. Where is Luke? I believe something happened to his leg, but I can't remember..." I trail of and scratch my head, thinking hard.
North Star sighs, "Never again, Sang Baby. What did you guys even eat?"
My eyes grow wide and a smile stretches across my face as I daydream about what I ate.
"No! Don't even think about it! Forget I asked! Let's get some food in you. Healthy food."
I shrug and yawn.
I hop out of his marshmallow and stretch before heading out of the room.
"Are you coming or what?!" I shout.
What's taking him so long?
I don't wait for a response and march down to the kitchen.
Standing there, are all the boys.
"What the rainbow happened to all y'all?! It looks like you guys got ran over by a monster truck!" I blurt out.
From scratch marks to bruises to a broken nose, they look like they got into a fight with a Black Friday mob and lost.
"What happened to us?!" Exclaims Gabriel.
I nod, unsure.
"You happened!" Paprika shouts holding an ice pack to his bandaged nose.
What?
I shrink back from them.
I didn't mean to.
I didn't mean to.
I didn't mean to.
All I can think about is how I hurt these boys.
I should just leave.
I don't deserve them or to be their family.
I must be punished.
They quickly notice my change of mood.
"Skunk, it's okay," Corey tells me as he wraps me up in a hug.
I slowly out my arms around him.
"I'm really sorry, all of you. I didn't mean to," I whisper softly.
Peep tightens his grip around me and says, "Sang, we could never stay mad at you. I wish you hadn't done that, but we can all forgive you. Now let's get you something to eat."
"Sang, I didn't mean it. I'm sorry for yelling at you. Please forgive me," Paprika pleads.
"Of course, I forgive you. Who could stay mad? I deserved you yelling at me."
"Sang," Paprika sighs. "No one deserves to be yelled at. I am sorry for accusing you. Let's head to the kitchen like Corey suggested."
I smile up at him and look at each and every boy.
They are all smiling back at me.
I walk with my family into the kitchen and hop on a stool to wait for my food.
Paprika sits down next to me and puts his arm around me.
"Peanut, would you like to watch a movie with us?"
"I would love to!" I answer with a grin.
Quickly, I eat the carrots and apple sliced with peanut butter and follow them downstairs to the game room.
"Hey, Brandon? How come we watched Gladiator upstairs if there is a TV downstairs?" I ask curiously .
Brandon smiles and answers, "I decided to use that one so you could feel like you could escape quickly. I didn't want to make it seem like you were stuck with us. We have two televisions because with fourteen of us we don't always agree on what to watch."
"Goose, that's ridiculous. I could never feel 'stuck' with you guys. I'm glad to be here," I respond.
They all beam at me.
I go to sit down on the couch, but Axel pulled me into his lap.
I shrug.
Must be another one of their strange habits.
I lean back against him and sigh.
This is the best family I could ever ask for.
They are all perfect.
I can't believe that I have only known them for a few days.
It feels like I've known them for my whole life, we just connect together like a beautiful puzzle.
"Sang, maybe you should tell them about Star and I before it is too late," Sarah says softly.

Darren was a successful businessman, founder of the biggest publishing studio AoE studios. He lived a good life that is, until he dies. Theres a catch though. unlike fantasy games, the people here are not NPCs to be trifled with mundane quests, the lowest level monsters that are usually cannon fodder in games are strong and fight for their lives like any living being would, The harsh economy of medieval times, the various languages and cultures of different races, and the politics and intrigue playing in the background with a war looming on the horizon. Oh and no respawns. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ No OP characters, No chosen one,and no "oh I did something that MILLIONS of other people just didn't think to do". I am also going to try my best to stick with realism. what a guy transported to medieval times would likely do with zero knowledge of cultures or combat aside from a few TV shows. If you're looking for a powerful chosen one who defeats scores of enemies without even looking, or who finds an ancient artifact to defeat a dark lord this isn't it.

Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz
