"I think you already know."
She took the knife and carefully cleaned up the half dried blood.
"Indeed. I can see, you are very interesting, nothing like my sister.."
Charlotte murmured very quietly.
"Please do explain how." Kianna demanded tiredly.
I shrugged, that's what I hope to find out.
"Try not to injure my people next time." Charlotte ordered, actually it was more of a threat.
"You let a criminal back in Snowfei. Who knows if she killed people out there." I responded back coldly.
Charlotte humed slightly before saying: "Now, now, let's now be hypocritical. I could count atleast three instances where you knights did the same."
"Then count them."
She laughed mockingly.
"It's late, don't you think? Let's continue this conversation tomorrow, yes?" She then responded, leaving the room.
...
Later that night Charlotte met up with a certain someone in the forest..
"Did you blow your cover?" Charlotte mumbled, looking up into the sky. Behind her crept a male figure.
"No, your majesty.." He finally responded. She turned around facing him.
"Then how in did the stupid knight girl figure out that she is being followed." The Queen said, with a raised tone.
"Miss, I don't know why I-"
"Nevermind, if a plan goes completely smoothly, then something is wrong. Change of direction, I will introduce you to her tomorrow and give you two some work. The rest is the same." She interrupted him.
"How am I to do that? You know I will turn back to a bird by sunrise." He looked up to the bright full moon, which was now directly above the sky, piercing though the trees.
"I will give you something." He looked back towards her. "Some potions to prevent your embarrassing transformation for two hours." She replied handing him a bag full of bottles with strange purple liquid in it.

"And if I complete this task succesfully, you will free me from the curse, this is still the deal?" The man questioned, rummaging through the bag.
" 'If' you manage to complete the job, the yes, you will be rewarded. Don't fail me eagle boy." Charlotte finally said ajusting her black hat and walking off.
...
The morning after Kianna had begged me to help her prepair everything for breakfast to make food early to make it up to Charlotte.
I started setting the whole table up. "Thanks for helping out, man with the way the Queen acted last night after we arrived, I though I was fired for sure." She laughed awkwardly.
"I'm looking foward to bringing out that conversation again." I responded as I placed the plates on the table.
"You want me fired?" I glared at her for that stupid question.
"Riight, the whole creepy stalking thing. Gotcha." She finally said soon after.
After we finished, we heard the door creaking. Speak of the devil.
Charlotte Whiteblind with guy next to her entered the cafeteria. He had dark brown hair with blue eyes. He was wearing a dark blue cape, a black shirt with a turtle neck, and grey pants. Huh, at first glance, he looks like a black knight. Kianna bowed to the Queen.
Charlotte smiled.
"Oh, breakfast is already on the table! Kianna you're too kind. Sadly it will have to wait a bit."
"It better." I replied back coldly.
"Of course. This is Seven, he works for me and the people of Snowfei." I crossed my arms. "He also did watch over you.. to ensure safety.. mostly." The Queen said.
"Felt real safe out there." I muttered sarcastically.
"I have a feeling that you are mocking my efforts.." She responded dissapointed.

"A woman tried to stab me with a kitchen knife."
"And you're a knight. I didn't feel it was nessesary. I'm not here to apologize though. I need you to do a job for me."
The brunette explained.
"I'm already doing one for scraps, not in need of a second one." I replied annoyed.
Charlotte just laughed it off. "You will be componsated fairly."
"Relay the request."
"Alright, alright. Ever heard of Ace?"
"The pirate captain?" I questioned.
"Naturally. The situation is this. Ace and his crew arrived here this morning. Every month or so, they bring us supplies that we cannot aquire in Snowfei, however the supplies went missing.."
"And you want me to catch the ones responsible?" I asked.
"I don't care if you find them or not, just find the supplies. Seven will assist you. I hope he will be of use to you." Charlotte ordered.
"I work better alone."
"Figures, sadly you don't have a choice on this matter." Charlotte teased.
"How much?"
"5000 silver."
"Plus getting away from you. You act like-" I stopped myself from saying another word. I really did not want to think about that..
"Safe travels!" Kianna said as I took a piece of bread and left.
"So, what is your real name?" That guy Seven started talking.
"Shut up." I replied. As I started walking off.
After ten minutes and twenty nine seconds we arrived at the seaside.
"This is our most important dock, we bring in all kinds off valuables from all around the world here. It's also very important to our history." Seven explained.
"So the weird pirate ship is... oh right there." I pointed to the boat that looked so old, honestly I almost thought it was a shipwreck!
"You weren't even listening.."
"No.. Was I supposed to?" I asked.
He rolled his eyes in responce and followed me to a Ace and his crew.
"Who are you?" Ace asked as we aproached him.
"Paper Whiteblind a knight, a pleasure to meet you. This beside me is.. a stalker of mine." I shook his hand.
"Alright?" Ace looked at Seven. "My apologies, you don't look like a knight princess."
"You certaintly don't act like a knight." Seven cought. "Queen Charlotte requested our presence regarding the recent problem." He told Ace.
"The supplies? We got it covered, very sorry about being unprofessional, it just so happens that one of my men were blind to spot a whole crate being stolen." He glared at the person in question.
"You don't understand, the crate contained something valuable to Miss Charlotte." Seven inquired.
"I wasn't informed of this."
"Neither was I." I chimed in. "Care to explain, partner?"
"That is all I'm allowed to say.. Why else would the Queen care about theft?"
I was about to ask something, but I realised that might blow my cover, so I stopped myself.
"For others? For her people?" Ace asked. Like he read my mind.
"Only you people from afar think like that. Not here." Seven replied.
"Right.. We will return it. We're the best pirates after all!"
.
..
...
That's not much of an achievement.

8 115The Oresteia (Modernized)
All three of the great Greek Tragedians have written plays about the bloody chain of murder and revenge within the royal family of Argos. Yet theirs is in fact not a story of tragedy, but rather one of redemption. As they move from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration to be heard throughout the ages. Forming a discourse set against the emergence of Athenian democracy out of a period of chaos and destruction, the Orestian plays are compelling stories of the tensions between our obligations to our families and the laws that bind us together as a society. In the beginning, we witness how a king’s decision to sacrifice his daughter and turn the tide of war inflicts lasting damage on his family, culminating in a terrible act of retribution. In the aftermath of regicide, we behold how a son must set out to avenge his father’s death by committing a most egregious sin. In the end, the sinner is tormented by supernatural powers that can never be appeased, but ultimately finds redemption and ends the curse on his house once and for all. Woven through all of this is the story of a friendship so close that it elevates itself to brotherhood - Where the blood of the covenant is shown to be indeed thicker than the water of the womb. In this very brief twelve-chapter modern rendition of the Orestian plays, I have chosen to place my focus mainly on the lives of the characters Orestes and his best friend Pylades. The chapters, each around 2000-2500 words, are split up evenly between them in first-person narrative. I hope that you will come to enjoy reading this heartwarming story, but more importantly, that you see how the conflicts portrayed in the story, whether human or institutional, are still much very relevant to our societies today. Note on Sources: The details of this story is very loosely based on The Oresteia by Aeschylus. And I mean very loosely. Other sources that I referenced for detail and inspiration are Mythology by Edith Hamilton, Electra by Sophocles, and Iphigenia in Tauris by Euripides. You may also find that I have quoted some of these works, and others (such as Shelley's Ozymondaeus), without citations (average of 1-2 such quotes per chapter). I did this because I do not have the ability to describe certain scenes nearly as well as some of those writers. If you read a particularly beautiful piece of prose here, chances are it's probably stolen lol. Also, I wrote this during the summer between my high school senior year and my college freshmen year. It was the summer of 2020, and being quarantined apparently gets my creative side out lol.
