《"Paper Whiteblind - The Knight" [PWTK]》Mission 1 - Chapter 2: In Snowfei

The last stop: Snowfei. I could feel my heartbeat as I exited the train and went to the main gates. Sure, this isn't my first time away from home, but this was different. I felt the cold wind hit my face as I walked toward the main gates.
I approached the entrance. The gates were very high, made out of wood and metal, there were small towers close to the gates. Nothing compared to anything I saw in other kingdoms. I heard someone climbing up the tower. Then I saw a man with a black coat.
"Reason for stay?" He asked me.
"Invitation from queen Charlotte." I replied waving the invitation in my hand.
"Give it to me." As he ordered that a small compartment opened in the gates. I out the piece of paper in it. It closed again. He then climbed down. There's got to be a better mechanisim for this..
"It's the real deal. You can enter." The main gates opened and a beautiful sight greeted me. Clear snow falling to the ground and tall dark green trees. Eagles flying through the sky. Small houses made out of dark wood. I could've hardly said that this was an island. I can't believe I actually got in.
"You must be new around these parts." The strange man in the coat inquired. "Queen Charlotte ordered me to bring any guests of Snowfei straight to her first. Come with me Miss."
And so, I followed him along the road and passed a small town until we reached our destination. It was a beautiful light blue castle with a bright coloured garden. We entered and the inside was just as astonishing and pretty.
"Lady Charlotte is a very busy woman. Please, be patient, it will only take a moment."
The guy said, leading me to the main hall it seems. He scribbled something in a hurry, and then left.
Strange, when I'm waiting for someone, usually it's Ms. Snake back at home.
I observed the pictures on the walls. One in particularly sparked my interest. It was a family portrait. The father, two sisters, and.. a mother? The face is scribbled and I can't distinguish it.. The older sister had greyish eyes and brown hair with a black ribbon. The younger, had blue eyes with an unusual spark and also long pure white hair. She kind of looks like me..
While I was examining the painting I heard a person behind me "That one was a lovely memory of mine.."
Eighteen minutes and thirty three seconds.
I turned around to the very same grey eyes from the photo.
"Greetings your majesty." I bowed down.
"Please, drop the formalities, It's not what I need of you right now. Call me Charlotte."
I was taken aback a bit by this. "Oh alright. Very sorry for being late, I had some.. trouble along the way."
"I heard. I'm sure you are very tired after a twelve hour trip."
"Yes I am a bit actually."
"My sister, her name was Paper Whiteblind." She pondered, looking back at the portrait.
"Pfft that's a-" I quickly stopped myself. "very delightful and creative name. How did you bless a child with a name like that?" I giggled nervously.
"My father named her that because of her unusually white hair. He.. always said that paper is gentle and can tear and catch fire easily, but the edges are sharp and can cut you if your not careful." She rambled. I thought it was common knowledge.. Why Paper?

"Miss, I have a lot of questions for you." I finally said.
"Oh? Please feel free to ask away." She requested.
"I want to know what could be so important to require knights help. You failed to mention in the letter."
"Right," she cleared her throat "it's not a very pleasant topic. It's about my younger sister. She went missing a about a month ago."
"Oh.. I'm very sorry Miss I didn't kno-"
"Yes well these sort of things happen, and we learn to cope with them." She cut me off.
"Do you want me to find her. I will gladly take the job." I offered.
"No. She will not return. Never. She left me, alone in this, empty, old house."
"Alright.. So then what do you.." I couldn't think of anything else.
She walked over to me and moved my wig slightly, a part of my white hair fell out and covered my face slightly.
"I need you to act as my sister in her place." She then finally said.
"WHAT!" I could barely hold in my shock at this point. It took me a while to come to my senses after that.
"I'm very sorry, but I can't replace your sister, I-"
"You're the only one who can. You two look very similar don't you think? You're hair is only shorter than hers."
I looked back at the painting. It's true. I noticed it myself.
"It's not okay to play with peoples feelings like that." I finally replied.
"Whose? Hers or yours? She won't mind. She ditched that name in a well..
And you, does your identity matter that much? I mean you're not by any means a royal, or an important figure. You're just a knight.. A suspended knight, at that." How- "At least with this new name you can roam freely as much as you want. I'm not asking you to forget who you are. With your friends and family, you can be yourself. But outside of that, you're Paper Whiteblind. Deal or?"
"And what do I get for it?" I asked curiously.
"Everything that my sister would have."
She replied.
"I can only accept in one condition."
"Yes?"
"I get to keep my title as knight. And I can travel the world as much as I want"
Her eyes widened at my proposal.
"I.. t-that's.." She stuttered at the thought of it.
"Your sister is not much famous outside of Snowfei, so I don't think anyone from out there will recognize me. I don't think hiding the fact from the people is smart though. I will agree to anything, but I am still a knight." I stated.
"You knights are allll the same. That will give them even more if a reason to hate Paper.. Fine! But just so you know everyone here will despise you. Queen Fiora from the kingdom of Emerald and her daughter Rika will come here for dinner to a very important job. Your room is upstairs to the left. Put on something decent and do not be late." She ordered, pointing to the direction of the stairs.
Yikes! That was not a good first impression. But I can't just throw away something I worked hard for my entire life. I climbed up the very long spiral stairs and reached the door to her room. I opened it slowly. And turned the light on. I was immediately compelled to snoop around the whole room. The walls were painted a light shade of pink. The closet was bigger than my room and the room was bigger than my living room. There was a large bookshelf next to the door. The bed was huge with a few spiral steps of stairs leading up to it. There was also a huge window with white curtains and two pink chairs and a white table. I even had a bathroom. Inside the closet room area were a lot of clothing and even more shoes. Next to it was a mirror and a dresser. My childhood dreams have been answered. If I was a child I would've been so happy I..

I should really stop myself there..
My wig is struggling to stay attached to my head, so I pulled it off revealing my natural hair. I took the thin knife from the wig and tucked it into my sleeve. I looked myself in the mirror. Am I..? Finding the answer can be sometimes easier than asking the question.
I dosed off into to the mirror. Looking into my dull blue eyes full off an empty void. I never liked them.. Ah, what am I even doing! My eyes are fine as long as they are doing their job!
It was only now that I notices the piece of paper on the table. It was a schedule.
Breakfast at nine a.m.
Lunch at twelve a.m.
Dinner at 9 p.m.
Don't be late!
Oh.. wait.. where is the kitchen anyway? I just realized I have no idea where anything is! I can't navigate this huge castle! I turned off the lights and rushed outside. I accidentally bumped into a maid who was passing by.
"My apologies! I wasn't looking where I was going." quickly stood up, and helped her get up.
"So, you're the knight girl who is trying to step into shoes of a royal hm?" She said slowly getting up. "Don't worry Charlotte told me." She chuckled. I was a bit stunned. Why would Charlotte tell her of all people. She had long brown hair in a braid and brown eyes with a tint of yellow. She looked like an ordinary maid to me. Around my age.
"Right.. I need to know where the kitchen is, along with everything else in this castle." I replied.
"Alright, yea sure I can do that, but then you'll have to help me cook dinner." She whispered the last part.
I nodded. I had no problem with that, I can cook decently.
She showed me around the whole castle. Showing me the kitchen, library, laundry room, guest rooms, throne room, main hall and etc. I have to admit, if it weren't for her it would of taken me hours just to figure out where everything is. Instead it only took fourteen minutes and two seconds.
After the castle tour, we went to town to grab some groceries. The weather was getting a bit more cold. It started to snow. It's probably snowing at home too. Eagles were flying through the sky. I actually got along with the girl. Her name is Kianna, and she is quite the comedian, which I can appreciate when completing boring tasks.
We were just heading back when unexpectedly someone knocked us out.
I could hear muffled sounds before I completely blacked out. When I woke up again I was tied to a tree in the woods. Kianna was next to me, but she was still unconscious.
"You are probably wondering who I am?" The woman started talking. Her voice was raspy and quiet.
"No." I responded, teasingly.
She rolled her eyes. "On the train. They almost caught me.."
I made the 'oh' sound upon the sudden realization. "Well that's very fortunate. Why'd you come after me?"
"You think your soo smart transfer student, figuring me out.." She smiled slightly.
I laughed in response. "I was just staling for time, honestly." Angered by this she slapped me. "Ouch."
"Nice change of hair, by the way." She added. "Thank you very much, do you think shorter hair suits me better or longe-" She cut me of then started describing her very boring plan.
"Listen, after I'm done with you.. I will rid the world of knights once and for all. Everyone here will back me up. This may be different outside of this island but in here.. nobody likes knights. We forgive them but then they do something again! No more second chances, not after what she did!"
..
The sounds of eagles whistling.
...
...
"You done?" I raised my eyebrow.
"H-How did you escape?" She stuttered. I raised my hand to show my thin knife that I hid away in my sleeve. Finally a use for you eh? I pointed at her with the knife.
She laughed slowly "I didn't know you were armed. Thankfully I didn't come here unprepared." She pulled out her kitchen knife and pointed back at me.
"Well then, en garde." I finally said, before she lunged at me full force.
I dodged her attacks with ease. Her moves were very predictable. She tries to stab me in the chest so badly. She eventually got tired and slowed down. That's when I stopped this nonsense. I stabbed her in the leg, causing her to lose balance and fall down. She grunted in pain. "Also a fucking fighter of course."
"You should really consider who you're picking a bone with here. I may look fragile, I assure you I am not. Stick to your surprise attacks." I responded stepping a bit closer to her. She quickly backed away and responded.
"Who the hell are you?" She asked.
"My name is Paper Whiteblind, one of the knights you keep being so persistent about putting out of commission."
"Why you- traitor." She crawled back towards me and grabbed my leg. "You're not going anywhere.."
Pathetic. I kicked the arm she was holding me with. She yelped.
"Since you 'forgave' us on something we did in the name knights, I will forgive this little incident as my title of knight. Don't let it happen again." I whispered to her. I turned to poor Kianna who was still unconscious, and slowly carried her back to the castle.
The woman from the train tried to crawl again. "Wait I'm not finished! get back here!" She practically begged. I didn't turn back.
It was dark already. How long was I out for? We missed the dinner. Kianna grumbled as she woke up.
"What happened?" She asked looking around the woods. She stood up. "Sorry can't tell, secret. We're alright now thought. Sorry about groceries they didn't quite make it." I replied.
"It's fine, it's not like we're gonna make food this late at night. Let's just head back to the castle."
I nodded and continued to walk towards our destination. Once we got there, we were met by an irritated Charlotte at the dinner table.
"I had to cook everything by myself and somehow explain your sudden dissappearence Paper.. You better tell me where you were.." Charlotte stated.
I walked over and dropped the knife at the table.
"I think you already know."
