I groaned and rolled over in my sleeping bag, hearing the soft sounds of Beverly's breathing. The tent was starting to become stuffy and I had trouble falling asleep.
I sat up and looked around. I could see the slight outline of Beverly in her sleeping bag. She was huddled into a ball on the other side of the tent, the moon shining a light behind her which casted the eerie shadows of trees on the canvas. I could tell that my cheeks were flushed from the heat and it only took me a couple of moments to make the decision to get up for some fresh air.
I stepped outside into the cool breeze, feeling relieved as cool air entered my lungs. I was only wearing a loose, baggy t-shirt and sweatpants, so the night's chilly air left goosebumps on my arms. The campsite was dead quiet. Everyone was asleep and I had a feeling it was way after midnight.
I walked towards the trees, figuring that if someone did wake up and leave their tent, it would be best if they didn't catch me out of bed. I leaned against a tree, taking in the sight of the almost full moon when I heard voices coming from my left.
"Fucking hell, give it here." Henry said, snatching something from Belch's hands and putting it up to his mouth. I took a few steps closer, wanting to get a better look at what they were doing, when a twig snapped under my feet and they all turned to look at me.
I felt like I was in one of those cliche horror movies.
"Who's there?" Henry snapped. I stepped out of the shadows and walked up to them, ignoring the voices in my head telling me to turn away.
I looked down at the joint Henry held between his fingers and beckoned for him to pass it over. Henry looked at me with watchful eyes before holding out the joint towards me.
I took it and rolled it between my first finger and thumb before placing the tab between my lips. I sighed as the warm air filled my lungs. I handed it back to Henry and tilted my head up, closing my eyes as I exhaled the smoke.
"Thanks. I needed that." I said, turning around to walk away.

"Looks like the loser has a naughty side." Henry said. I stopped, turning around to see him look me up and down.
I rolled my eyes. "I couldn't sleep."
"That's what they all say." Patrick winked, making my stomach flip.
"I'm serious." I said, rubbing the goosebumps on my arm. "What time is it, anyway?"
"Time to get a watch!" Belch said. Nobody laughed. Henry shook his head, flustered.
"Time to get a new joke." I muttered, and Patrick laughed.
"Time to get a sense of humour." Belch grinned at me and I put my hands up in defeat.
"Okay, I'm out."
An icy gust of wind suddenly blew past us and I found myself wrapping my arms across my chest. I froze, realising I wasn't wearing a bra, and I could tell the boys noticed as well considering the looks they were giving me.
I cleared my throat, and they looked away hastily, except for Patrick whose eyes were glued to my chest region. "I think I'm gonna head back.." I murmured turning to leave, but a hand grabbed my shoulder, stopping me.
"So soon?" Henry raised his eyebrows. "We've got some even better stuff to do, if you want to join."
Patrick winked at me, and I looked at Henry curiously. "What stuff?"
Belch unzipped his jacket, revealing a large bottle of absolute vodka. I bit my lip.
I took another swig out of the bottle and passed it to Victor, having long lost track of how much I had had. My eyes watered as the burning liquor went down my throat, and I coughed and wiped my eyes. The bottle was passed all the way back to Patrick, who was sitting to my left, and he tilted his head back as he drank out of the bottle. I leant back into the tree and closed my eyes, feeling the alcohol's effects taking its toll.
"Fucking hell Patrick, you drank the rest of it." Henry slurred and threw the bottle onto the ground, smashing it. I felt a shard of glass slice into my arm, and I looked down and pulled it out. Giggling, I placed my hand on Patrick and smeared blood down his neck.
"Oops, sorry." I burst into a fit of laughter and Patrick moved closer towards me, grabbing the neck of my shirt.

"Didn't know you were into that sort of stuff." he mumbled into my ear and pressed his body against mine, causing me to fall backwards and drag him with me. I wrapped my legs around his back, trapping him on top of me.
"Get off her and go find us some more alcohol." Henry slurred and Patrick reluctantly pried himself away from me before getting up. I was left lying on the hard ground with my eyes closed.
"I'm not drunk enough yet." I heard Henry complain, but he sounded pretty drunk to me.
"Well, she definitely is." Victor said and I groaned and rolled over, covering my ears. Vodka was the worst - you kept drinking because you couldn't feel anything yet, and then it would hit you all at once.
I heard the rustle of leaves as someone moved towards me. A large hand wrapped around my waist.
"Are you awake, Lara?" Henry's voice whispered.
"Yes. Piss of please." I moaned.
"Don't be like that. We could have so much fun together, if you'd let me just..." I didn't respond, too tired and dizzy to move. I heard footsteps walking away.
Henry's body pressed against mine, his hands trailing underneath my shirt. I moaned and tried to move away but he was too heavy.
"Henry.." I mumbled and his hand moved higher, stroking the bottom of my breasts, his other hand sliding down between my legs. I felt his fingers fiddling with the waistband of my pants. I tried to push him off but the alcohol prevented me from doing anything consequential.
"Shhh, be quiet. Don't want anybody hearing ya now, do we?" he said, his breath tickling my ear. The last thing I saw was the broken bottle of vodka lying on the ground before everything went black.
I awoke to the sound of a loud voice.
"Hey Henry, I found another bottle.... What the fuck?!" Patrick said. A weight was suddenly lifted off of me but I still couldn't move. A groan escaped my throat.
Where was I? How long had I been sleeping?
"Geroff me!" Henry grunted. I heard the sound of feet shuffling and the thud as someone landed on the ground. My eyes opened, barely, and through my burry vision I saw Patrick lunge after Henry. They rolled on top of each other, bumping into a tree.
I moaned and rolled over, my head throbbing. There was another painful feeling coming from a lower region but I couldn't remember what had happened. The sound of the boys' grunts were piercing into my skull, making it hard to see. Victor and Belch came from around the corner and saw what was happening and immediately pulled the two apart.
"What the fuck guys? What's this all about?" Victor asked angrily, struggling to hold back Henry. The two boys said nothing and continued to glare at each other, oblivious to me lying on the ground.
"One of you are going to start talking or I'm bashing both of your fucking heads in." Victor threatened. Patrick turned to look at me and the rest of the boys' eyes followed.
"Are you kidding me? This is about her?!" Belch exclaimed, letting go of Patrick and putting his hands in the air in frustration.
"He was on top of her! His fucking hand was down her pants." Patrick spat.
Henry bared his teeth at Patrick. "Is there a problem with that? She wanted it. She liked it."
Patrick glared daggers at Henry. "She was unconscious. Look at her."
"You have no idea what you saw." Henry snapped, and they turned to look at me.
"She can probably speak for herself." Victor said, but frowned. "Actually, maybe not. Fuck, someone take her back to her tent."
I felt strong arms pull me up. Patrick didn't look at me as he half-carried me back to the campsite, his arm wrapped around my waist. My head was buried in his shirt and I shivered as the cool air tickled my skin.
"Here, come on." Patrick said as he unzipped my tent open and helped me inside. I found my way to my sleeping back and felt a wave of relief at the warmth it gave me. Patrick turned to leave, but I quickly stopped him.
"Patrick?" I asked, and he turned around to look at me.
"Th..." I started, feeling myself drift off to sleep before I could finish. I swore I could have heard him say something in reply, but when I awoke the next morning, I couldn't remember what it was.

8 236Recruit - An Infinite Labyrinth prequel
A prequel to The Infinite Labyrinth. The year is 1816. The British Empire is in full swing, under the auspices of King George III. The Infinite Labyrinth has been pouring out its product from beyond our reality and fostered a new industrial revolution. Times are changing, and the people of London are feeling the winds of the revolution while British Professionals push into the Labyrinth. The newly formed Artefact Hunting Company is looking for recruits, and they have new technology to help them. From the slums of London, they aim to recruit a new wave of Professionals. And make Zacharias and the Earl of Carnavon lots of money. So, for Rowan Rivers and a handful of lucky ones, it's time to head into the Labyrinth, and discover what makes it different from England. And what makes THEM different? Recruit is a bunch of chapters I wrote to create to the setting, mood, and game systems of the Infinite Labyrinth. It is NOT a complete story in the classic sense. It's more of a slice of life view of early days of a normal Professional from the Infinite Labyrinth, and it's heavy on info-dump. It's 90% canon - there's probably a bit of a difference between how some characters and common behaviour are portrayed here and how they'll come out in the main story. Set two years before the events that kick-start the main series, it features some of the secondary/peripheral characters of the Infinite Labyrinth and will tell you all about the basic mechanics of the Labyrinth's RPG system. It can be considered a spoiler, as the characters in the Infinite Labyrinth are going to need to figure out all that, on their own. But if you like a much deeper exposition in the mechanics, here it is. The entire prequel is about 80 pages long.

8 163Killstealer
Unfinished - Apologies to anyone who was reading but I have no current intentions to revisit this story Alex was stuck in a rut: He was nearing thirty, and his career seemed to be going no-where; He used to have plenty of friends at university, but had gradually lost touch with them. He had recently started using a dating site, but truthfully he never quite got over his ex. It could be worse; he didn't spend his nights wallowing in self pity. However, he had a sinking feeling that his life was going no-where fast. When Alex decided to take up an old hobby all he really was looking for was something fun to do on friday nights. Thrust into another world by a mad mage Alex must adapt quickly to survive. Unfortunately, Alex showed up late to game night and ends up stuck with a pretty mediocre character in this game like reality. Alex must learn to survive in this new world; just because it all seems like a giant game doesn't make death any less terrifying. This will be my first attempt at writing litrpg. I wanted to set myself the challenge of writing every week and I think knowing people might be reading it will motivate me. I've always worked much better with external deadlines. FAQ Why should I read this LitRPG? I am writing because I enjoy it and you should read it if you enjoy it. If I had to make an elevator pitch I would start off by saying my MC is a rogue type character, which seems a relatively uncommon character at least based on what I have read. I also strive to make the supporting cast three dimensional characters, and not just caricatures. Finally, I can't forget that this is a LitRPG so I have tried to make a RPG system with depth, and one that makes sense. How often will you release chapters? At least once a week is my goal. I am a nurse with a baby at home, so between my hospital and my baby I won't have time for more unless something dramatically changes. Will there be romance? I won't rule it out as I try to let my characters write their own stories. However, there will NEVER be a harem, it just isn't something I am interested in. Gore, Profanity, and Traumatising Content? I don't intend to have any of these present at obscene levels, but my tolerance might be different to yours. The tags are mostly there to cover me.
