《A Baby For The Beast》59. Epilogue

"Some deaths only made things right. Some were damages. I caused several of them, as one of the perpetrators. Do I deserve to even live?" –

...

"I also took part in eliminating the girls." I had lamented, the other day.

I was in a lost part of the castle, where no one could hear me.

"I did it to save myself, yet that wasn't fair on their side."

"A-Ava?"

Piper had muttered, stepping from my back.

She had been trying to reach out to me, with her soft and feeble hands. Her eyes held a saddened look, with a pout.

Reason had been that we were in separate rooms.

"It's all going to be fine, I promise."

I had whispered, but she still held on to me.

"Most girls are bigger than me there, they're going to bully me."

She numbly stated.

I had sighed that day, even though I felt helpless.

"They won't. I'll protect you if they do, I promise." I said, kissing her hands.

I opened my eyes, waking up from the strange dream.

I'll protect her if they tried to hurt her?

I did a poor job at doing that.

I didn't even know how she was doing. I didn't know the present state of her, and it sucked.

I woke up, on the ship we intended to plant the enchanted gold with. It swooshed, sailing softly, yet in a rapid way with the waves going in tune.

"Mate."

Caspian's hands wrapped around my waist from behind. After that dream, I had been so lost in thought, without any idea of what to do.

"Cas..."

"There is good news, mate." he opened up, saying. "My beast finally synched with me. He finally accepts we're one body."

My eyes widened at his reveal. I couldn't even believe my ears, in any way.

"No more fights?"

"No more." he replied, kissing my cheeks, with his silver-grey eyes locking with mine afterwards.

My eyes narrowed, after I noticed his appearance. My mate looked different, his aura was more confident, and that made my heart soften.

After a brief while however, I held a saddened look.

"We will bring her," he suddenly said, almost like he knew what I was thinking.

"P-promise?"

"Promise." he stated.

At his statement, the ship halted. Nynaeve hastily stepped out, to set the enchanted gold.

Right at the entrance, there was a shocking sight.

It was Jaskier and Lady Ada, waiting, almost like they knew we were coming.

"Halt!"

One of our royal soldiers exclaimed. My paws extended, in a fight with my fangs. However, it went back in place at the sight of someone I thought I'll never see.

Simon.

He was with mum and Moses.

In the Nymphs' Kingdom? What were they doing here?

"You."

I seethed.

"Ava, dear..."

Tears occupied my eyes, the instant I remembered the day he left. Leaving Jasmine while she was terribly sick as that.

"Don't." I seethed at him. "You don't get to say my name like that."

"I'm not here to ask for forgiveness." he suddenly spelled out.

He wasn't?

"I'm just here, with your destinies to lead you to your path as a Scavenger. With your sister, and your destined, Jaskier."

"What?!" I growled at him, for the guts he took in saying that. "What makes you think I'll ever listen to you, huh?!"

"Be calm." My mum suddenly showed up, from his back, saying. "I didn't raise you like that."

"Shut up!"

I yelled at her. My knees connected to the sandy ground weakly, in so much frustration. The kind of family I got to have, seemed like a total mess.

"Ava, you have to come with us. Listen, this is your destiny. I even gave up my life of adventure, knowing the importance." Moses suddenly said.

"Good for you," I retorted. "I'm still not coming."

At my words, Caspian's hands enjoined with mine.

"She's with me, now." he seethed.

Simon chuckled at his words, cackling so loudly.

"With him? A monster, our kind kills? It'll never work out—"

"You don't know that!"

I yelled at him, hastily with tears occupying my eyes. "He was present. More of a human to you, than you, Simon. I still can't believe how mum forgave you."

"With how you left Jasmine, your own daughter to die, and how you left me, I'll bear this grudge to grave..." I trailed truthfully. "...I met Jasmine; you know. Guess what? She had been by my side all this while."

"My little sister—no, your little daughter forgave you, in spite of the fact that you hurt her badly. You caused her death! You made me cry! You made mum cry until she became a living vegetable!"

I angrily let out, remembering how she was in shock from Jasmine's death.

The entire surface grew silent at my words.

With the people present. Only the soft waves swooshed. Simon still held a look of mockery, like I was saying gibberish.

Suddenly, Lady Ada walked towards me, and so did Jaskier.

"Prepare your weapons!"

Caspian announced, after noticing their movement. The soldiers did as he said, waiting for a go-signal.

"I give up." Ada suddenly stated. "Dad, you're an evil and covetous man. You did something similar to me, chasing only power. For that, I'm now on their side..."

She trailed, adding. My eye brows knitted when she slowly dropped her weapons, walking towards us.

Now, I'd have not believed anybody. But, from her description, Ada wasn't a bad woman.

The villagers liked her for another reason— the good in her heart.

"Me too."

Jaskier softly said, bowing towards Caspian.

"I'll accept whatever punishment you give me for my betrayal, My King." he added. "You've been good to me. I was a cunt."

"Are you kidding me?! What's this, huh?!" Simon shrieked angrily. "She's deceiving you all!"

As he shouted those words, mum walked towards me, and so did Moses do, surrendering his weapons.

"Dear..." she trailed out. "I'm sorry I was too blinded to see this."

"He took my children from me. Even had the guts to separate you from your twin, declaring her dead."

Caspian looked at me, as mum finalized her words.

Should I end him? He mind linked me, asking.

I gave him a go-sign, knowing it was better done now, than later. From my past experience, problems postponed, turned to bigger ones.

"Yahhhh!!!"

A hundred guards ran towards Simon.

SWOOSH!

His head was disconnected from his body afterwards.

...

While the gory scene was being cleared, someone appeared through telepathy.

Most knew who it was.

"What did I miss?"

Alcander asked.

Suddenly, we saw someone running from distance.

"It's done! Finally, My Queen and King!!" Nynaeve yelled happily. "The Nymph Goddess got ensnarled in her cunning game. She picked the gold greedily to add to her stacks and now she is trapped!"

"The wars have been prevented! Also, alas, Piper is set free!"

I shrieked in joy at her words, kissing Caspian at the thought that there would not be war.

Our pup was safe and Piper was free.

"This is good news! There would be a banquet tonight!" Caspian announced, in excessive joy.

He lifted me up, twirling me happily.

Looking by my side, I saw Alcander and Nynaeve, kissing intimately.

I looked at Caspian weirdly, and he stopped the twirling. Ada and Jaskier, chuckled at it too.

"Should we be expecting another wedding?" Ada asked, teasingly.

"Never," Nynaeve untangled herself from him, saying. While Alcander wrapped his hands around her waist, kissing her again, yet she yielded.

Mum walked to Ada, while Moses wandered into the ship to explore.

"Hey."

I let out, at the both of them.

"Hey sister," Ada answered.

"Remember, how we were at tooth and nails the last time we met?"

I let out.

We both giggled, with mum patting our heads softly in admiration.

~Two weeks later~

"Why won't you tell me how you got me out?"

Piper asked innocently, in her official coronation event as Princess.

"Cause you're going to feel bad."

Her hands wrapped around my pinky finger, as we walked around the castle.

"Please, tell me." she pouted.

"When you're older."

I walked her to the throne room, declaring.

She was even late. Reason was, she had been practicing sword fighting with Elder Zu. She was definitely not going to be a princess who obeyed the rules...

"With the power bestowed to me, I crown you Princess Piper."

Caspian declared, settling Piper's little crown on her head.

The audience begun to jeer in support that instant. Tania was present, with Satandra, her lover, who had been forgiven. Cassandra, with Jaskier and my reunited family— mum and Lady Ada.

"Your tenure shall be a meaningful one, with your upcoming sibling,"

I announced, smiling. The audience jeered, even more at my words. My hands around my bump which grew totally fast, almost as if I was in the ninth month.

I looked around, at the girls, who were now free.

The pawn title had been scraped off, together with the Rook and Bishop title.

Only the King, Queen and Knight remained.

Reason was, I found out they were only used to oppress people.

Instead of Rooks and Bishop, there were districts heads, which represented the commoners directly.

Knights were made to be generally soldiers in general.

As I smiled at the new changes, I felt myself contract.

Water pooled down my legs surprisingly.

"W-what's happening?"

I asked, with my voice laced in fright. The audience gasped in surprise, at the amount of water that streaked on the throne room's floor.

"Is the Queen okay?"

"Oh, my goodness, what's happening to her?"

"Someone, get the pack doctor!"

Oh no...

I really hoped all the stress I went through, wasn't making me lose my baby.

"Please make way! The pup's coming!"

Nynaeve rushed through the crowd, saying. Caspian held me, with his eyes darkening in horrid fear.

"Summon the Doctor this instant!!!"

My mate yelled, with his thoughts all over the places in the mind link. He growled loudly, and the entire room bowed in submission, to their Alpha King.

"H-How, this e-even possibleee..." I breathed out, with the ounces of strength in me. My wolf was the one making me hold on, with the breathing technique from fighting.

"A beast regenerates fast, My Queen! Surprises me you don't know."

"Ava!"

Piper, said in a scare. She was taken away by Cassandra, so she didn't fret too much.

I was carried hurriedly to a nearby room. Looking around, it was the same room I was in, when I was a pawn.

I could swear I saw Emily at the corner, chattering with the girls.

It was déjà vu.

A horrid but sweet déjà vu, if that made sense.

"Ava, stay with me!" Caspian yelled.

With withheld pain, I had broken Caspian's index finger and thumb, twice.

The baby tore its way through my belly, with me yelling in pain. At its cry, I smiled weakly.

"A girl!" The pack doctor declared.

It meant Piper had a sister. And somehow... this newborn, brought harmony with her.

"Let me hold her," I urged.

She was brought to me, instantly, with blood still covered on her body. Caspian kissed her, with the crimson coating around his lips.

"She's of a Lycan blood." Nynaeve stated.

"Blood, a teensy mixture of her mum's and a full-fledged mixture of her dad's."

Caspian beheld her, looking into my eyes with trust.

"For she brings peace, we would name her Frida."
