《A Baby For The Beast》58. A Message From the Beast

"The district wars are upcoming. Right now, a plague of suffering is spreading out. I need help." –
...
King Teta's body was brought around the palace, by the few people who believed he should have a burial.
Even the people he ruled, forsook him.
His body thrown out of the sea, the minute he stopped breathing.
"Father,"
My mate let out, with a saddened expression. It was directed at his pale body, which lay near the furnace for cremation. With Alcander, who had rushed from the Kingdom, the minute he heard the news.
We had wanted to eliminate him, because of his cruelty. But I understood that at the end of the day, he was still Caspian's father.
"You always wanted power, forsaking even the family you made." Caspian continued. "In your hands were the blood of hundreds of girls. The blood of innocent virgins, and lastly... our mother."
"Our own mum, Lady Archer."
Alcander continued, with tears surrounding his eyes in hurt.
"You made your own sons, not even know if they should feel happy or sad at the fact that you're gone." he added truthfully.
After the annunciation of the ex-King's burial, scanty people showed up. Didn't blame them. From what I witnessed, Teta was a hated person.
"Goodbye, King Teta." I added, going to intertwine my hands with Caspian's.
"I hope you learn from your mistakes, wherever you might be."
Caspian stated, with a blank, yet pained expression. In his eyes were something almost like regret. Maybe it had to do with the fact that he didn't tell his late father some things.
Or asked him, why some of his actions were how they were.
"Let's go, Ava." he rushed out, with an arm around my waist. "Burn his body after my brother's last goodbye, Nynaeve."

He ordered, the witch who stood some feet apart away from us.
As we walked away from the scene, one word imprinted on my head.
Sad.
This was just so sad.
...
The sea had taken Piper.
The plagues... set out. I knew, we had to get to it. We had to... we badly had to, dammit.
And Caspian's beast had said something, when it suddenly surfaced, after we made love. I had been so unsure of it at first, yet, it seemed different.
Almost like it wanted to help. For the first time in yet, forever...
"Why are you conversing with me?" I had asked, not hesitating like in the past. "You showed up numerous times, but never talked to me, so why now?"
Maybe I had nothing to lose now... I mean, the people who all cared for me, were slowly reducing.
It hummed a growl, glancing at me, ferociously.
"You are mate."
It breathed out suddenly. At his glance, I knew an inch of Caspian wasn't even there, yet, it was so cooperative... unlike the past.
Emotionless dark eyes, which were pitch black. A harsh stare, which softened at me.
"Yes," I let out. "Yes, I am."
I stretched my hands towards his beast, cusping his chin. It sniffled me, growling once more, in inordinate pleasure.
"You.Understand.Me."
It gritted out, humming, still in liking.
I got closer, in trust, much too close in an understanding distance.
"Can you then share more of yourself to Caspian?" I asked.
No, no, no.
This time, it mind linked me, in anger. Looking at me outside, in a suffocating look. Its eyes, a bit teary and reddened.
"Why not?"
"We.Had.A.Fight."
They fought? Why? Did it have to do with me? Or our last battle?

"Tell me about the Moon Goddess. Your Great-grandmother and your Creator."
He flinched at it, snapping his hands into a fist.
"That stupid Goddess, left a part of herself, in me, at creation." he deviously let out, with its face in a mischievous expression.
"Caspian won't talk to me, so I want you to deliver this message to him. I want him to use this piece of information to destroy her."
"H-how would he?" I swiftly asked, feeling suddenly hopeful.
"He would have to be alone, for it to happen. You have to make her think she has won this battle,"
It had answered.
"Come, here." It breathed out. "Let me feel our pup."
His extended paws held my tummy, with a bright smile on his face at the heartbeat of our child.
"Beautiful." It murmured.
"Synch with him." I used that opportunity to mention again. "Please..."
"He needs you. We need you." I added.
"Come closer." His beast stubbornly let out, ignoring my words. I did as it said. He whispered something into my ears, while my eyes beheld a look of shock and wonder.
His beast left minutes later.
...
I had told Caspian his beast's exact words.
He urged to inquire more from him, but he won't answer him. That left us with one choice. We had to use our knowledge. With the help of the witch of course.
"Your little one, sends me a message."
Nynaeve let out, on arrival. In her hands was a crystal ball.
"She did?" Caspian asked her, even though she directed it to me. Seemed like he developed a liking for Piper overtime.
"Yes, it was a message. A direction, I saw through this crystal ball. She wants you to fetch her heart, and release her from the sea." Nynaeve continued.
"Is that supposed to be possible?" I inquired, bitterly.
Nynaeve sprayed her salts and settled her witch items on the ground. Chanting some spells, before her words.
"In order to release the ruler of the sea, one has to go. A sacrifice has to be made." she explained, in trance.
"Your little one doesn't want the power of the sea, but there are people out there, who want it."
People who want it? Would they get it just like how she took it from Teta to save us?
My eyes widened at a realization.
"They will kill her!"
I shrieked.
At my sudden exclamation, Nynaeve snapped from the trance.
"Look at me." Caspian said, with an intent to calm me down. But this was Piper, not just anyone.
"I understand your pain, mate. Yet...you have to remember our pup, don't stress yourself, please." he begged.
Nevertheless, Piper was our pup's family, blood or not.
Some bounds were more than blood and she was one of them.
"I could handle this, without her dying." Nynaeve suddenly let out.
"You can?"
"Yes, there's a tribe were I'm sure my spells can work successfully in— the Valley of the Nymphs." she explained.
"All one of them have to do, is pick my enchanted gold, out of greed and the deed is done. He or she disappears to the sea and Piper is released."
