《A Baby For The Beast》49. By your Side

Dearest Felicia,
I hope you're happy with the current situation of the castle. Very sure you know who this is, and believe me when I say, I'm not asking for anything.
Just want to know if you remember those pies mama made us, as kids?
If she were here today, I doubt she'd be happy at the way things turned out.
We couldn't find the chest and... I got greedy.
Forgetting my own sister, my own blood. And, I'm sorry. I regret my doings, Felicia.
Not asking you to forgive me, but, please don't let me die in the hands of Ava.
Yours truly,
Francesca.
Dearest Francesca,
My twin, ex-friend and sister. I remember the pies mum made. I also noticed you failed to add the weather ( a sunny and warm day)
That minute, I wished things remained that way. A small happy family of four. We used to be united, you know. Till mum's illness and the choosing.
Sometimes I ask myself, why you became like that– evil. Was it because of the legend or you chose to... wanting that power for yourself, making us no more than stones to each other.
You tried eliminating me and if Lydia wasn't by my side, I could have been six feet under. But just so you know, I'm not like you.
I hate to say I'll help you retain your neck.
Yours truly,
Felicia.
"Are we there?"
I asked hurriedly, as we walked in the depths of the ship.
"Not yet, my Queen. Still not feeling the energy yet." Nynaeve breathed out immediately.
Ever since that day I told her we'll cheat, we did more of going straight to the point with what we had to do.
The rest could wait until when this is indeed solved.
"Was bringing 500 guards necessary, Ava?" Alcander asked in a sarcastic sly tone.
"Ask your brother that."
I breathed out, rubbing my belly.
That silenced him. Caspian had asked him a favor to protect his bride and that's what caused these interactions.
Alcander had the ability to teleport, but we didn't use it because it could bring complications to the baby.

"I'm hungry,"
A squeaky voice let out. Everyone in the room looked towards where it currently came from.
Piper.
I had brought her along, so she helped with picking the chest. Her skill was something uncommon.
"Pass some food, please." I seethed, to one of the guards who tucked his hands in one of the sacks carried.
Piper moved to take what she could, before we commenced walking, checking each ship deck and room.
"Wait, your Majesty." Nynaeve breathed out, when we were about entering another deck. We all stood back as she opened the door which made a gentle creak.
"Do you feel it?"
I instantly asked. She trembled on her spot, sniffling and embracing the room's energy.
"There is something," she retorted. Everyone present gasped, including the guards with an exemption of Alcander.
"It is faint, however."
She added, sprinkling something dust like and muttering some spells which I guessed to be unbinding spells.
"Is it safe?" I asked with my hands extending to my belly in absolute protection. Piper grunted in a scare, holding my pinky firmly.
"Unusual. Please do me the honor of dealing with this to avoid complications." Nynaeve murmured.
"Just bring the chest." I said, watching her chants. She tried entering a part, but a barrier held her from doing so.
She tried again and again, but the barrier still held her. This time, her chants got louder and louder.
When I saw her nose bleeds, I begun to fret.
"This is not good." I worriedly said. "I should intervene."
"Well I think we should let mama witchy do her thing. Believe me, when I say there were more harsher scenarios in the past," Alcander retorted instantly, with a hand over his dark hair.
My hands connected with my face as I tried to remember the prophecy I got.
"You're in history, you know."
Caspian had breathed out.
"M-me?"
I had stated, confusingly.
"Yeah, we are in history."
"Long ago, some Seer foresaw a war between districts and our Kingdom."
"They said you'd bring the balance but don't know how true that is..."

I stepped forward, only for a guard to rush to my front and several more.
"Your Majesty! We can't allow you to endanger your life like this!" one exclaimed.
"Please step back and let one of us go assist her!" he added, with a bow.
"Please step back and let one of us go assist her!!!"
They all chorused with a bow. My eyes widened at the realization of what I triggered.
Of what I was. What I meant to them.
My hands fidgeted my gown, with Piper's hands still around my little pinky.
"It's okay, all of you..." I trailed on my words. "I was the former Knight, if you forgot. Knight of the castle who turned Queen!"
As I voiced those words, the guards trembled on their spots. In an obvious scare of what could happen if this went wrong.
Just ahead, Nynaeve was still chanting.
However, the current in the room was getting stronger.
Breeze blew as I ran into the barrier she was trying to unbind, using my sword and one of the Knight skills.
I hit the boundary as hard as I could, and it came splattering like a glass falling to the floor.
"Ava..."
Suddenly, I heard someone trail, in a solid and whole form.
That voice.
It sounded terribly familiar.
And like a snap, I remembered whose voice it was, with her playing figure on the field... her whole hearted laughs.
My eyes widened instantly at who I saw behind the chest. Her dark hair, which was just like mine, with her eyes staring into mine warmly.
"J-Jasmine?" I choked out.
"Ava.Get.The.Chest.This.Instant," Nynaeve muttered in reminder.
At her words, tears flickered my eyes.
"Is that you?" I asked, as she walked closer. Her hands lifted the chest up, walking towards me.
"Here. Take it," she said, in a whisper.
My feet dragged the floor dejectedly, making my way to her too.
"H-how? How are you here?" In a husky tone, I let out brokenly.
"I've been with you day one since you stepped into this castle, Ava."
"The Moon Goddess granted me that opportunity, since my death was as a kid. I was the one who made Lady Archer find you.
Preventing you from harm's way when I could."
I shakily reached for her face, with my hands on it.
"R-really?"
She nodded firmly at my words with a smile. I swallowed at her face which held a gleam, her eye lids, which were at the verge of tears too.
"You mean you've been with me all this while... by my side and I-I couldn't see you?"
She nodded innocently, once again.
"Yes..." she trailed bitterly.
"At first I thought you'll always yearn for me and be depressed. And then, I saw that girl and told myself she'll always remind you of me,"
"Please keep her safe. Keep me sealed in your heart, Ava. Don't let the trauma of losing me destroy you."
"My mission is over. I'm leaving now," Jasmine breathed out, adding.
More tears dropped from my eyes. I clenched my gown in hurt, knowing this was too much for me to bear.
"You're on your own now. Please be safe, Ava. Please..."
"My Queen, we need to get out now! The ship's trembling furiously!" Alcander exclaimed from the entrance of the room.
But, if I left, I knew this would be it...
I wouldn't be granted this opportunity anymore...
"Ask her for another life!" I yelled out my thought instantly. "To be re-incarnated! That's the least she can do!"
"She's done enough favors! Accept this, Ava." she begged as she slipped away, just like Lady Archer had, gradually.
I was the only one who could see her and it was really unnerving.
Nynaeve stepped forward, pulling my hands, away from hers.
"I won't." I seethed. "Ready to sacrifice my life for yours!!"
I cried out, painfully.
"D-don't..."
My hands untangled Jasmine's and she disappeared after her last words.
"I'll be your big sister, Jasmine."
Just at the last moment, Alcander transported us away from there.
