"This is where things are supposed to come to an end. Each minute, this journey seems like the start. Don't know if happily married is an overstatement." – Ava King
*Present reality*
"It's okay!"
I declared immediately at the guards, who outstretched their swords towards mum.
"It's our duty to protect you, Queen Mother!"
One of the guards declared, bowing down. "Are you sure this woman's not a threat?"
"She's my mother,"
I braced myself up, declaring with a smile. "She has all rights to slap me," I chuckled, looking around. "Carry on with the party!"
The invited guests laughed it off, and the musical instruments commenced playing instantly. The lively energy was back that instant.
I directed myself to face mum, that minute.
Her face held a look of disbelief and mockery.
"Are you okay, mum?" I asked her immediately. She was just recovering and it'd be safe to ask her. "Are you okay?"
I repeated, desperately putting my hands on her shoulders. Mum ripped it off immediately, glaring at me.
"Do not touch me." she seethed.
Just as she said those words, I felt so hurt. I looked at the back of her head, only to see Moses approaching us. He was stopped by someone in a pawn's attire. I realized it was Tania, offering him a drink.
"Look at you, so high and mighty. A Queen now..." she trailed out bitterly. "But you need to know something, dear. This is how far you can go."
"Thinking is not for people like us. You're a woman. In our world, women accept things the way they are. That's why we're the weaker sex, Ava." she added, snapping her hands in front of me.
These were the same words I heard, right from when I was little.
"Wake up, Ava. Forgive your father, that's the least we can do because we don't have a choice. Jasmine would have done the sam—"
"You don't get to say her name..."
I weakly trailed out, with tears in my eyes at everything that was happening. "I knew Jasmine. She shared the same ideas as me. If there's anything I'm grateful for, is that she didn't die with a limited view."

My words made mum spit at me, with a vicious expression. "Coming all the way to see you was a mistake. I curse the day I birthed you,"
I felt my wolf stir at her words, my vision reddened, and my paws extended.
Everything today wasn't going my way. I was under too much pressure, which was uncalled for.
"Mum!!"
I breathed out, unknowingly raising my hands with rage but someone rolled me into his hands, stopping me. First was a serene and calm feeling, next was a sense of peace, followed by a sweet scent. That made me realize who it was.
Caspian.
I heaved in fast paces, trying to breathe softly to avoid the anxiety attacks that happened in the past.
What's happening? I mind linked him instantly. He had turned me, in a way that she couldn't see neither my fangs, paws, or reddened vision.
Your pregnancy hormones are making you lose control. He explained. Let me take it from here. Caspian added, rubbing my mark.
He pulled back, when he was sure it was entirely safe.
"My King,"
Mum said to him, with a bow, baring her neck and submitting to him.
"It's an honor meeting you, Mrs. Goodchild." Caspian said, outstretching his hands towards her while I gritted my teeth.
My hands went up to my belly, while he held me. She wasn't even patient enough, to hear about my child. Maybe she didn't deserve to know.
"I must say the same, Your Highness," she said, with a smile, curtseying again with a bow.
I watched as he withdrew his hands. "Me too. But I'm afraid Lady Ava must be excused now, as we have more important issues to deal with."
"Ah yes. I mean, she's the Queen" Mum replied him. "A female who's supposedly meant to make sure the guests eat and enjoy their stay—"
"I'm afraid there won't be need for that. Our lovely Cassandra would escort you and your dignified people to your chambers."
Mum gave a polite smile, before walking away with Moses who seemed like he was making advances at Tania. She wasn't into men, but I certainly wasn't about to tell him that.

"Thanks,"
I let out to Caspian, who gave a smug smile at me, while I walked with him.
To be honest, I was gladdened he defended me. Politely, but it still amounted to the same thing.
"We still have a lot to talk about, don't we?"
"Oh, that could be for later." I replied. "Why don't you tell me how chasing Lydia went? Did they get to her? No, that's not the word..." I trailed worriedly.
"Did they catch her?!"
I asked instantly, with a hand on my forehead. I really hoped she was wasn't lucky.
"Elder Zu never fails on any of his mission. It's only a matter of time, before they relay the message on her whereabouts." he stated. "You need to calm down in the meantime,"
The door closed behind us. My belongings had already been transferred to his chambers, thus, I fully moved in with him today.
"I.Am.Calm." I gritted out instantly. "I just don't want things to go wrong. I want to protect our pup, Caspian. I'm so scared of everything. The predictions, histories, it all makes me want to go mad."
I admitted. He pulled my hands with his, walking me to the bed. I sat and so did he.
"I'm sorry I brought you into my world, Ava."
I blinked my eyes in awareness, at his words. What was he talking about? Was he blaming himself for this?
"I really want to help and protect our pup, too. But I can't, if you won't talk to me. What did you find out? What makes you scared?" he asked, with a worried expression. "I really want to know the battle we're fighting. But I can't, if you won't talk to me. Tell me."
The sooner he said those words, my lips pressed together in so much thought. He was going through a lot. As a King, in his nightmares...he had so much combat himself, that was why I tried to solve it myself.
But I decided to let it go. He deserved to know this much, as my husband and mate.
"Fine."
I looked the other way saying. "Lydia never died that day..." I trailed out. He gave a surprised expression at my words. "I just found out, days ago, though from Nynaeve. She told me the Moon Goddess' predictions, and history."
"Tell me." he said, grasping my hands to his chin and kissing it softly. I inhaled before exhaling, breathing in soft paces.
Here went nothing.
"She is from the descendants of the Khalayans..."
I commenced, before explaining everything. I began to tell him the entire story exactly as I heard it.
Right from when she was Lady Archer's assistant in her Kingdom, to when she was his father's mate. I also didn't fail to leave out the part where she swore to crash everything, Lady Archer had used her hands to build.
"How could she?!!" Caspian growled out angrily, saying. He stood up, throwing away everything he laid his hands on. I felt him fighting with his beast. "How dare the both of them?!!"
As he added, he commenced punching the wall uncontrollably.
It was then I knew I had to post pone telling him of the Moon Goddess' wishes. He definitely wasn't letting me fight Teta with his pup in me...
I walked to him, with my both hands clenched at my blue attire. I hugged him from behind, to calm him down.
Please. I mind linked. Don't get angry. We'll solve it, trust me. We will avenge Lady Archer's honorable death.
His eyes widened in realization at my words.
Tears freely dropped from Caspian's eyes, with a pained expression. Now he knew why I wanted to end her angrily, when she showed up.
I don't know why I waited till now, to say that out. Maybe I couldn't believe someone could be so heartless. Nynaeve also told me it was Lydia who ensnarled Lady Archer, in a trap that led to her death.
I had buried it in me since that day, feeling so hopeless.
"Shh, let's leave it for tomorrow, milord." I breathed out, holding him sweetly.
"It's our wedding night, remember?"
