Listen, I realized I should probably talk about this.
I can not tell you how many times this has happened to me. This profile contacted me this morning with a publishing deal for their platform "Rnovel". I am a naturally very suspicious person, so before I even responded, I did my research. It seems this group has been running scams on Wattpad and even other platforms offering fake publishing services. I am going to go more in depth on my Instagram but I'm just going to say a quick note.
Publishing deals can happen on Wattpad and other services such as Ao3 or Fanfic.net. B it they are going to be highly professional and have legitimate contacts and have a reputation.
I want to warn all of the other authors out there. I have been contacted by fake publishers before, and the first time, they almost got me, but my natural distrust in people caught on just in time.
Authors have enough to deal with as it is, we don't need scammers stealing our work and money. I'm going to post this on my Instagram along with some other details.
