'Flake, whatever happened to dad. You need to be strong and live.'

Fredrick Lois is only 3 years old but he was already mature enough for his age. His father thought him everything he knew and he heard or learned other things from the gossiping nannies.

His father is very powerful.

Thanks to him, alot of people are alive and not hurt. He is risking his life for the whole Empire, he is very proud of him.

Suddenly, people he doesnt know seized their house. They said his dad is already dead and everything belong to them. He is scared but he wanted to fight them. His father isnt dead yet....he knows his dad is the most powerful man in his eyes.

But when he saw his dad he cant help but cry. He is weak on the hospital bed. He can barely open his eyes long. He keeps reassuring him.

'Everything will be fine.'

But he sneaks on the doctor and nurse talking about his dad. Heard he might not be able to recover.

All his dad's friend are on jail, the people says they are bad people that betray his dad. But his dad says its not true. He believes his dad and those Aunts and Uncles are very good to him and his dad. He is sure its all a lie.

He thought that even if they are in the hospital, itll be fine. But they said that its improper for the child to stay with his dad all day long and he might caught disease from the hospital.

They first ask the people that seize his father's property but they dont want to take care of him. He feels relieved. He doesnt want to stay with those people too.

Then one day, the military sister told him, his other dad, his mother will take him in.

He always thought he was dead.

His father always said it was just him and his father.

He is not sure what to feel about this new person plus he doesnt want to leave his dad. Maybe if he left someone will come and harm his dad.

He is surprise to learn that his dad and him will go together.

It was a rural area.

The house isnt big like their house

The door opened and Flake can only stare at the one on the door.

He didnt expect.....that he looks so much like this other dad.

Now he knows why people says he doesnt look like his dad.

He feels mad. Why does he have this guy's face? He wants to look like his dad.

"Hi. Im Ronan."

"Hello. Im doctor Roun."

"Yes. Can you help me bring him to the bedroom?" Ronan opened the door wider.

They rolled the hospital bed with the sleeping Floyd.

"We use a drug so he is still asleep to help him lessen the burden of travelling." Doctor said.

"I see. How is his condition? Can you tell me the things I need to watch out for?" Ronan asks.

His eyes are on the doctor. This is about human life afterall so he is extra careful. Plus the planet is too far from the central star so itll be hard to contact the doctor.

"Right now, he can atleast chew his food but you have to feed him. His hand shakes and he lost motor skill at times. He is also falling asleep easily. So careful to let him sit down and fall down. This is the list of the medicine he needs to drink and what time to take. You can call me if something went wrong. Ill come here every other month to check him up."

"Thank you doctor."

When the doctor is gone. Ronan finally face his son. Well, it was the original's son but only he knows that

"Your name is Fredrick right? What does your dad call you? Fred? Rick?"

The boy looks away not answering.

Ronan thinks this is reasonable response.

The child never met him. Same as abandonment.

Now someone is telling him that he is his mother. Itll be hard if he accept it readily.

Ronan sit down on his down facing Fredrick.

"I know you dont know me. But I want to be your friend and you can help me take care of your dad. If we work separately we might harm your dad. If we work together, you can monitor me, I can monitor you. Help you if you need so your dad will be comfortable."

Fredrick looks at him.

"The nurse said you want my dad's money."

Ronan blinks.

"Where is the money?"

Ronan didnt get a single cent."

"You didnt get money?"

Ronan shakes his head.

".....maybe the hospital took it?"

Ronan shakes his head.

He doesnt know.

"Ill call and ask the doctor. As long as they have money and your dad need them its fine to leave the money to them. If its food. I can atleast provide food. Speaking of food, how about hou eat first? Its already dinner time here."

"Its still early."

The boy answer without strong tone.

"Well this is a rural planet. There are less night activity so people sleep early. Let's eat."

The boy stomach growl. He hasnt eat any thing properly since his dad died. The peoplr on the hospital buy him some bread and water but they dont care much about him. He hasnt taken a bath for a few days too. Oy changing his clothes.

Ronan smiles.

"How about we move a small table to your dad's room so you can eat together?"

The boy looks at Ronan.

"Dad call me Flake. My name is Fredrick Lois."

"Hi Flake. Im Ronan West. You can call me Ronan. From now on we will be good friends okay?"

Flake nods his head.

"Okay. But be good."

Ronan smiles.

'He grows up so well. How strong and admirable despite what he went through.'
