soobin and beomgyu smiled while they ran through the castle, hands connected. beomgyu who was running behind soobin, looked at their hands and smiled even wider. "rooftop?" was all beomgyu asked.
"yep," soobin replied. beomgyu smiled once again. he often sits on the rooftop on his own.
—
the two of them were sitting on the rooftop in a comfortable silence. beomgyu was looking at the village beneath them while soobin was staring at the boy next to him, taking in all of his pretty facial features. he has to do it now, it's the perfect timing.
soobin's hand subconsciously traveled to beomgyu's cheek caressing it. beomgyu slightly turned his head and let out a chuckle. "hyung, what are you doing?"
the elder chuckled as well, "nothing."
beomgyu turned his head again, but that's when soobin spoke. "hey gyu?"
"hmm?"
"can i kiss you?" soobin just said, not really realizing it.
beomgyu's eyes widened. what did he just say?! he wants to kiss me?! what am i supposed to respond?! ack- this is so awkward! should i just say yes? or is that weird?
"i- you don't have to say yes. i'm sorry! i-"
soobin was cut off by beomgyu kissing him. this time, soobin widened his eyes, but he soon closed them and kissed the younger back. even though beomgyu had no clue what the frick he was doing, he just let soobin take the lead. the black-haired boy then leaned forward and placed his hands on soobin's shoulders, though they soon traveled behind the taller's neck. they both smiled into the kiss before pulling away.
the two of them looked at the ground, not daring to say a word. at that moment, a guard also came up onto the rooftop. "prince beomgyu and mr. choi, you two have to come back to the ballroom."

soobin and beomgyu didn't say much to each other. they just kept looking at the ground, smiling every so often. when they would make eye-contact, their cheeks would glow red. though, they had to dance now.
"what's up with you two, hah?"
mrs. choi suddenly said, shocking the two boys.
"huh?" beomgyu said.
"you two are so quiet all of a sudden," she said, smiling while she pat both of their backs. the two boys just nervously chuckled.
yeah, no shit.

Nero Zero
Monsters plagued the lands for too long. No matter if one had fangs, beak, teeth, skin, fur, or feather, or was tall, stout, or diminutive, the people suffered. Until the Gadgeteers came with a device that could allow people to fight back. Powered by one's own magical power, feeding off of monster Essence, the Arbitrium bracer turned the tables. It also changed society. Strength of one's level cap was all that mattered. The strongest were Kings and Emperors. The weak or those too poor to afford the marvelous device, destitute. And so it has been for millennia. All that mattered was one's level cap. High, low, a fate decided the moment the strange contraption came alive. Too high and you were a threat to those interested in keeping the status quo, a weed to be nipped before it could grow and take root. Too low and you were nobody, fated to be a bit more than a simple farmer. What if someone, somewhere, came up with a zero for their level cap? Unable to use Essence, unable to level up. On all of recorded history, it never happened. Until it did. In a small village of fur-less and tail-less ape-beastkin, a boy found out he was uniquely handicapped. Nero's level cap was Zero. But he'd never let that stop him from reaching his goals. ------------------------------------------------ All stories have already been told. We merely reuse elements from them. From Joseph Campbell's Monomith to Stephen King's advice, and that encyclopedia of tropes you've visited, fiction has been dissected and reassembled countless times. One will surely find elements inspired on other works here. Just like cooking from basic ingredients, the recipe and presentation is what really matter. This is a fantasy adventure, of someone that goes from a zero to a slightly bigger zero. It will have romance but no harem. Cruelty but with hope dimly shining ahead. Lightweight where it can be, heavy where it must. Thanks for reading. Cover Credits (The cover is CC-BY-NC-SA): Steampunk Spider Bracer, by Daniel Proulx. A Comprehensive Guide for Alchemy
A guidebook designed for alchemists of every tier to help refine their craft and provide direction. Formed of countless recipes and techniques, developed over the ages by the collective knowledge of our study, this is a definite supplement material for any aspiring alchemist. This discusses not only the recipe itself, giving you instructions for each one, but directs you to things not to do in the recipe. It isn’t uncommon for starting alchemists to unknowingly make a small change, and before they know it… BOOM! For a relatively minor price you too purchase this guidebook and start working towards building up a proper base of knowledge in alchemy. Even those with considerable ability may learn a thing or two from this! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is purely a guidebook for alchemy in a magical world, and as such contains no story elements. The cultivation (and alchemical) tiers are not at all necessary to understand the book, but exist because in the context of the book it would be important. I'm more than happy to write up any alchemical ideas you've ever had, totally not using this as an excuse to reduce my creative thinking hours... Just PM the idea or post it as a comment in any chapter, with a bit of balancing there's pretty much no idea that can't be done! Hiatus while I focus on shorter stories for competitions
