《Love In Hell (D.D.)》1.112 "Trapped"

At a military base.
Maggie, Magda, Lydia, Carol, Rosita and i were slowly let down from the glass ceiling into the hall of the military base.
A bunch of sleeping walkers were on the ground. We walked to some closed doors and Magda started to ick the lock.
I heard a clinck of the lock and everybody froze. Magda opened the door and we walked into the hallway.
We found the supplies we needed.
--
We were back in the hall, slowly lifting up the supplies. Daryl, Jerry and Alden were on the ceiling pulling the ropes.
I heard something rip and looked up. Daryl had managed to catch a bag, looks like the rope had ripped.
My eyes widened when i saw blood from the cut in his arm running down his arm and landing on a sleeping walker.
The walker started to growl and move. More started to wake up.
My jaw dropped. oh fuck, we were trapped down here.
Maggie and Carol started to shoot arrows at the walkers.
We were all doing our bests to kill he walkers but it were just too many. The boys started to helps us from upstairs.
I tried one of the guns that was lying around but it was dead.
Maggie had found a gun hat worked, good for her.
Daryl yelled "Come on!"
Magda was the first to attack herself to the rope and was getting pulled up. Lydia was the next to go.
Maggie looked at me "come on, Ken"
I shook my head "go! i'll go with the next line"
Maggie "Ken-"
Me "go!"
Maggie attached the hook to her belt and started to get pulled up.
I looked around while killing walkers.
Rosita yelled "come on, Ken!"
I grabbed the hook and attached it to my belt.
I was being pulled up.
I was half way up when i heard Rosita say "fuck"
The rope was slowly giving in.
My eyes widened "guys!"
Alden "I'm already on it"
Me "Guys!"
I looked down and saw the army of walkers trying to reach for me.
Suddenly the rope gave in and i cried out.
Daryl was able to grab me though and pulled me up.
I fell back on the ground, breathing out relieved.
At Alexandria. morning.
We walked in through the gates. Judith and R.J ran to me and hugged me.
Judith "Kenny!"
I smiled and hugged them back.
Judith let go of me and then ran to Daryl "Daryl"
Daryl smiled and picked her up, hugging.
In the hall.
Gabriel " One week. "
I looked at him surprised.
Daryl asked confused "That's it? In that last run, just a week? "
Aaron "We can make it work. "
Carol asked confused " How? We just took in two new communities. We have no crops, no back stock. "
Aaron "We can get there. Got people out there right now, scavenging houses for materials. "
Gabriel" And they're slowing down. It's a little hard to put up a wall with broken tools and an empty stomach. "
Agatha "Our people are good hungers. Frost and I could take a group out. "
Daryl "Ground's all spent. The last big horde scared all the animals away. We can find new territory. "
Gabriel "We don't have time. We need food. Lots of it. Now. "
Maggie "I know one more place. The place I lived before this. Where we lived. Meridian. It's got plenty of food, water, crops, and animals. "
Cole "Yeah, and now it's gone."
Rosita " So, what happened out there?"
Maggie "We were on a mission. Leading walkers away. Duncan, Agatha, and Frost took the last shift at the front of the herd. Going miles out. I circled back with Elijah, Cole. On the way back home, things kept going sideways and we got stuck out on the road. Looking back now, I don't think that was an accident. All of a sudden, we heard these screams in the distance. We raced back home. But it was too late. Most of our people had been slaughtered. And the rest of us barely got away with our lives. The people that attacked us... We only knew two things about them. They come at night, and by the time you see them, you're already dead. That was before we caught one. Daryl was with me. He came after us alone. Why? Because there aren't that many of them. They're at Meridian now. There's plenty of food to feed Alexandria 'til we get this place back up and running again. That's why they took it. We just need to take it back. "
Aaron "So... you're leaving to fight ghosts. That's the plan?"
Maggie " You have a better one? "
Aaron "Shore up Alexandria, for starters. The walls are not stable. Walkers will get inside. That's not if, it's when. Alexandria needs us. "
Maggie "This is for Alexandria. My son is here. I have skin in the game, too. "
Rosita" Yeah, but if they slaughtered everyone once, what the hell makes this situation any different? "
Maggie "Duncan, Agatha, and Frost are Meridian's best fighters, and now I have them. And hopefully, some of you, too."
Rosita " Maggie, this sounds like a suicide mission. "
I nodded.
Daryl " Well, if we don't have food, it's not gonna matter, anyway. I'll go. Anybody else? "
some of us raised our hands.
Rosita looked at me, irritated.
At night. During a storm. outside.
Maggie "Negan, how much longer 'til we're through the city?! Well, we got about six hours! "
Negan "We should hunker down, wait for this to pass! "
Alden yelled "You don't get a vote, asshole! "
Daryl "Ah, he's right. We need to find some shelter. "
Maggie "No! We don't have time! "
Me "We can't stay out in this."
She gestured to a METRO sign.
Daryl nodded "Yeah. Let's go. "
We walked downstairs. It was creepy as fuck, thank god we had flashlights.
Dog was walking by my side.
Daryl "Which way? "
Negan "Not to sound like a broken record, but I think we ought to take a breath, hunker down, and wait for this storm to pass. "

Maggie "You don't wanna go in there? "
Negan "No, I don't."
Maggie snapped through gritted teeth " I don't give a shit. Which way?"
Negan looked at me.
I sighed.
He nodded "Yellow line north. Switch to blue at Reagan National, then hop the red toward Bethesda. "
Daryl " Come on. Let's go."
They started to climb onto the railway.
Negan looked at me "Hey, can I talk to you? "
I looked at him.
Daryl let out a whistle and Dog started to growl at Negan.
I raised an eyebrow at Daryl who climbed down the railway.
Negan scoffed before jumping down there as well.
I followed them as well.
We walked through the tunnel.
----
We heard something crack.
Jimmy "What the hell was that? "
Dog barked .
Alden " The storm's pushing air through the pipes, making them groan. It's nothing serious. We're good. "
There was more cracking.
Negan " Know what that noise actually is? That is God, telling us to turn around. "
Gabriel "I'm pretty sure He would have ran that by me first. "
Negan "Yeah? The Good Lord direct your one eyeball to this? "
He pointed at marks on the walls " Water-line mark. That means this tunnel floods on a regular basis, like when it rains. It's bad down here. "
Daryl "It's worse up there. "
Negan "Look, man, all I am saying-"
Daryl went all up in his face "And it ain't working. You trying to run shit. Keep moving. Come on. "
Then he continued walking.
Negan looked after him annoyed "k"
----
It started to smell here and we came across plastic bags filled with bodies that were laid out - blocking our way.
Daryl kneeled down to one of it and went to touch it but the walker moved and Daryl killed it.
Negan " Why didn't it make any noise? "
Daryl unwrapped the head of the walker.
Gabriel "Throat's slashed so deep it almost severed his head. "
Roy "The guys we're going after do this?"
Maggie shook her head "No. These people were killed during the fall. "
Negan " All of 'em?"
Maggie asked confused "What? "
Negan "We're walking through a mass grave that could still be in use. So, I am asking you... Are you sure all of them were killed during the fall? "
Maggie looked at the tunnel ahead of us "Take each one out. Clear the path. "
Alden " Maggie, hold up..."
Maggie " We're not stopping. "
We kept walking.
----
Out of nowhere Jimmy started to yell.
Negan saved him through.
Maggie " Pay attention so we don't miss any more. "
Negan asked amused "Pay attention? That's it? That's... That's your new big plan? Tell me, Maggie, anything in particular we should be paying attention to? "
Alden "I'm real close to shoving a gag in your mouth. "
Negan turned to him "Well, why don't you get up on your little tippy toes and try?"
Me " Cut it out. Both of you. "
Negan "This kid almost died. "
Daryl "You don't give a shit about that kid. "
Negan "No, she doesn't give a shit. She has been playing dictator since we left, not listening to me, not listening to him. Hell, not even listening to you or Ken. We don't know if this tunnel even has a way out. Whoever or whatever killed these rot bags could still be down here. Has that thought crossed anyone's mind? "
No one said anything.
Negan "Exactly. It has. So, then this is a death march, and you are the goddamn pied piper. Now, y'all wanna roll with that shit, that's fine. Knock yourselves out. But not me. Not today. I am out."
Roy nodded " Me, too. "
Alden "What? "
Roy "He... He's a dick, but he makes sense. "
Richard "Yeah, we shouldn't have come down here."
Daryl shook his head " We're not splitting up."
Negan " It ain't up to you. "Buddy""
. Agatha"Just let him go. He's supposed to be helping us, but all he's doing is slowing us down. "
Maggie "We can't. "
Duncan" Why not? "
Maggie "We need him. He knows the city. "
Negan "Oh, is that why I'm here? I-I'm your DC tour guide? What, nobody here know how to read a goddamn map? I'll tell you why I'm here, man-tits. She brought me here to die."
I looked at Maggie.
Negan " If we get through this, I'm not coming back. She'll find a way, she'll find a reason, she'll do it herself. Away from the prying eyes of Alexandria. Here in the jungle. "
He looked at a surprised Daryl " Man, I really thought you were in on it. I did. But see, I can tell from that glazed look in your eyes, you didn't have a clue. None of you did."
Gabriel " You're paranoid."
Negan nodded " But I'm right. Look, you all want to put your lives in her hands? Her head isn't even in the game because I'm in her head, living rent-free. So, Maggie, me dying on your terms, it ain't happening. So, what do you say? Let's just get her done. Right here and right now. Because I am not gonna let you drag me through the mud, filth, and slime to put me down like a dog. Like Glenn was. "
Me "Negan"
Daryl punched Negan in the face.
Maggie walked up to him " We're down here because up top is death. We're moving fast because our kids are starving. And I'm calling the shots because that's how everyone voted. As for me killing you... It's always on my mind. I'm not gonna tell you that you're wrong about me, because you aren't. The woman who left six years ago is not the one standing over you now. There's a little bit of her left in me, and that little bit is the only thing keeping you breathing. But I don't know how long that's gonna last. So keep pushing me, Negan. Please. "
---
We were killing the bagged up walkers.
Negan "shit"
I looked at him and he was pointing his light at the end of the tunnel. A train wagon, wow.
Alden "Need a battery swap. Gage? "
no reaction.
We looked around.
Daryl "Gage?"
Gabriel " They took our supplies. Ammo clips, rations... "
Frost"Oh, great. That's just great. It's this asshole's fault. He scared them off. "
Daryl hissed "Shh! Listen. "
We heard walkers growling.
I raised an eyebrow.
Daryl "Alright. Cut them off. "
Gabriel "We'll clear the rest. Agatha! "
We started to kill the walkers while the others stared to look for a way through the wagons.
Daryl " All the way up to the top. "
They started to climb up the wagon.
I grabbed Dog "Dog, come on-"
He barked and climbed through a hole through the wall.
Me "Dog!"
Maggie "Ken, come on! Ken"
I looked at her before following Dog.

Forgotten Dungeon
Death comes quickly and without warning. Even for such little personage as him. It's quite hard to start as a dungeon core. Quite harder when divine bureaucracy simply dumps you in the a** end of nowhere because of their incompetence and because of your agent status as a Fallen Angel. Yet Uno (temporary name) is used to working with subpar materials and making the best of circumstances. It doesn't help that his personality was cut down to size, but he tries to overcome the system with ingenuity and a healthy dose of duct tape. Or the local equivalent of such. *** An audiobook of the Forgotten Dungeon story has been made by Agro Squerrils and is available on YouTube, under this link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcfzFNUhrNS3Z7DfjN5pMWn-CI1uKg3s2 He has my permission and full support for doing so, so don't be shy and check it out! *** Hello people! It's a story about a dungeon. Or maybe the dungeon? Who knows. Dumped in a hostile world, working hard to overcome circumstances. There is an RPG system in place, but I'll try to make it not number-heavy. I would be more focused on skills - at least from the perspective of the sentient races. Dungeons will have their own little playground. I'll try to make MC not overpowered - it always irks me how the stories tend to go from zero to hero in a few minutes. I hope y'all will enjoy the ride! *** Also, a Discord server has been made recently: https://discord.gg/sK2pam3 Join and share your opinions, if interested! :)

And that's not to say Hickory is bad, not all the time, not ever on purpose - just there are things a man has to - That drinking and fighting ain't wrong just as long as the chores are done proper first, that those parts of life that make it worth living ain't no sin, that loving a lady is proper and Hickory just has so much love to give! But certainly she can worship him and still be seen with Weston Covanger? Because Weston needs May, that what happens in the Study is only half the battle, the Men's Business, and he's far too proud to settle for half of anything. That if he wants to move up the ranks of his family, to be more than a Covanger, to become the Covanger? He's going to need a woman in the Kitchen as well - he's going to need May. And if that seems a bit old fashioned? A bit too much like the Wild West? Well the West is starting to get wild again now that everyone starts to Drink. A different take on LitRPG where answers aren't given - they must be earned, discovered and fought for, one at a time. An orator style, a long read, filled with magic buildings, crafting, alchemy, but most of all - This is a story about the human spirit.
