I was sitting behind Daryl on his motorcycle. The RV was behind us.

He parked in front of the house. I got off the bike and saw Dad and Lori standing outside with that Zorro girl.

I ran to dad and hugged him "How is he? Please tell me he's alive"

Dad smiled "He's fine"

I breathed out relieved " thank god. Can i see him?"

Dad put a hand on my shoulder"Later. He needs some rest now"

I nodded.

Mom "thanks to Hershel and his people and-"

Dad added "...and Shane"

I raised and eyebrow at him "Shane?"

He nodded "We would've lost Carl, if not for him"

I raised an eyebrow "oh really?"

Then i looked around and saw an old man standing there "you must be Hershel"

He nodded.

I smiled "Thank you"

He nodded at me.

Then i looked at Daryl.

Dale asked confused "how did that happen?"

Dad "hunting accident. Just a stupid accident"

I looked at Shane.

He had a new haircut.........a very guilty face.

I was inside while the others did a funeral for Otis.

I knocked at Carl's door and opened it.

Carl looked at me and his face lit up "Keni!"

I smiled "Hey, bro"

Carl smiled at me.

Me "How are you feeling?"

Carl "better. It might leave a scar"

Me "want me to tell you a secret?"

He nodded.

I smirked "Girls love scars"

Carl laughed but then hissed in pain.

I chuckled "Easy, bro. "

Carl "how are you feeling, Ken? You found her yet?"

I shook my head "sorry, buddy, but I'm fine. You got me dying of worry though"

Then I sat down on the bed next to him.

Carl "Can i ask you something?"

I shrugged "of course"

Carl "What's going on between you and Daryl?"

My jaw dropped "huh?"

Carl "i see the way he looks at you. He likes you"

I shook my head "no, he doesn't like me"

Suddenly the door opened and i jumped up.

Zorro walked in "Rick said to get you"

I looked at Carl and he nodded.

Then I stood up "bye, bro"

I walked out with her.

She had something in her hand. A map, i guess.

Me "Can i call you Zorro or do you have a name?"

She giggled "i'm Maggie and you?"

Me "Kendall"

She nodded and we walked outside to the others. They were all standing around a car hood.

Maggie spread out the map on the hood "a map. Shows all terrains and elevations."

Shane nodded "this is perfect. We can organize now"

Dad "We can ground the whole area and start searching in teams. "

Hershel shook his head at dad "not you. Not today. you gave three units of blood. you couldn't last five minutes in this heat without passing out."

He looked at Shane "and your ankle... normally you should be laid out for a month. "

Daryl and i said at the same time "Guess it's just me"

We looked at each other.

Dad looked at me "You should stay here. For Carl"

I shook my head "Dad, come on"

Dad "Carl needs you here, Ken, you know that."

I took a deep breath "fine. This one time"

He nodded.

Daryl "i'mma hit back to there and look from there on"

Shane "i can still be useful. Drive up the highway, see if Sophia wandered back."

Dad nodded "Alright. Tomorrow then. We gonna start doing this right."

Shane "means we can't have our people out there with just knifes."

Hershel "i prefer you're not carrying guns on my property. We made it this far without turning this into an army camp. "

Shane "with all my respect, if one of these things wander in he-"

I shot him a a look "We are guests here, Shane"

Dad to Hershel "this is your property and we will respect that"

He gave Shane a warning look.

Dad put his gun on the map.

Then Shane did "What happens if we find her and she's bit? How do we handle that?"

Dad "you do what has to be done"

Maggie "and her mother? what do you tell her?"

Andrea "The truth"

Shane "I'll get all the weapons. Making sure that no one carries one except on the training area. Dale and Kendall's got experience"

Rick "Our people would feel safer."

Hershel nodded..

I walked past Shane.

Shane walked up to me and stopped me " hold on, Ken"

I looked at him "What?"

Shane "your gun"

Me "But you just said-"

Shane "you're lucky you can keep your very long sword like knives"

Me "you're lucky i don't ram them up your ass"

I took my gun out and gave it to him.
