《The Roftkal Love》Chapter Eleven

The moment Rose saw Remi, she handed her crazy child to him. Remi scooped up the cackling Ivy with much glee and walked away into Linx's room. Ivy's 'giggles' bounced around the house, until they were quieted down by the soft click of a door.

Rose rolled her eyes at Ivy's behavior. For that child went from a small demon to an adorable angel the moment Remi opened the door.

I think Remi just took my #2 spot in Ivy's favorite people list.

"Rose, hi! Here, let me get that coat of yours and hang it right up here!" Finn greeted her, with his usual radiant smile. She smiled back because his energy just shouted happiness.

As promised, Finn got her coat and hung it in the coat closet. The two then walked into the living room and Rose smiled at everyone, slightly chuckling as Trev attempted to braid Kade's shoulder length hair. Trev was straddling Kade, focusing intently on his task, while Kade just rested his head against Orion's shoulder who was sitting next to him.

Rose's eyes kept on roaming around the room, looking for a spot to sit down, until she stilled on the two women who were chatting Austin's ear off.

Yet it was the petite woman who was chatting off Austin's ear, while the other, more toned, woman just listened to her rambling, her arm around the petite woman's waist. The toned woman noticed Rose's curious stare and smiled back.

The woman then tilted her head and quickly whispered something in the other woman's ear, and instantly the other woman was on her feet and in front of Rose.

"Hi, you must be Rose! I'm Roxy but everyone calls my Ma around here. And those sweet laughs I just heard must've been your daughter, Ivy! Remi has been gushing about her all the time, saying how good of a girl she is for her age! Though I'm not surprised because you look like an angel yourself! Like girl, did you fall from heaven or-" Roxy's speech got broken up as a hand snaked around her waist and a gentle blow to her ear send shivers down Roxy's spine.

"Or you can introduce me to Rose, sweetheart?" The woman gently asked and Roxy grinned at her.

"Sure, this is my wife, Olivia, or Liv for short. Most of these rascals call her Mom, even though she acts more like a grandpa sometimes." Roxy pursed her lips towards the end, giving Liv a sassy look. Liv just smiled back and pecked Roxy on her forehead. Roxy rolled her eyes and looked back at Rose.

"Enough about us, tell me all about yourself! These boys only told me vague details, but they obviously need to go get their eyes checked because they didn't tell me how good-looking you are! I mean, I knew you work at- oops, work out a bunch, but not this much! Like, what is your routine-"

"As much as I hate to break up your flirting Ma, I called you all over to talk about Linx, remember?" Kade interrupted, with a scruffy braid dangling off to the side.

"Oh yes I remember, don't you worry now. I'm so sorry Rose, but our lovely talk will have to postpone. But just in case these boys shoo us away before we can talk again, here's my phone number so we can chat whenever!" Roxy smoothly pulled out a pen from her back pocket and wrote her phone number on Rose's arm.

Roxy even drew a little heart at the end of it.

Rose just stared at this interaction, confused but also slightly aroused? She wasn't sure but she sure as heck didn't stop whatever Roxy was doing.

Roxy kissed the backside of Rose's palm, making Rose's cheek turn the color of a rose, and walked back to her original spot. Her wife didn't follow. Instead Liv also took Rose's palm and kissed it, making Rose turn into a cherry.

What in the seven hells is happening right now? Was what the boys and Rose wanted to say right now.

Because damn.

Who knew their Mom's actually had some slick moves to woo someone.

Liv sat back down, and the two women looked around the room like they were queens.

Rose's brain was currently a pile of mush, and as Trev gestured to her to sit down next to him, she just simply followed his request.

Because sure, she's dated before and have sex with both sexes. But being a single mom limited her time in the clubs and made her wooing skills rusty. And for this seduction to happen out of nowhere? It was too much for heart.

So she sat down, composed herself, and gave a small smile to everyone.

Kade took that as a go to finally discuss about Linx and how the Mom's can help them out. Well, hopefully they can help them out.

Kade then went on to explain what had happened in the past month or so. Everybody else would chip in from time to time, clarifying any small details. By the end of it, everyone looked at the Mom's, waiting for their reaction.

Mom (Liv) was more concerned then anything with tinge of panic swirling around. How long has her baby been suffering? And where was he now? Was he with this Jazz person, safe and sound, or was he sleeping in the back of some alley, thinking that no one in their family would help him out?

Her frown deepened and she spoke out, "So what do we do?". Silence rained upon them but not for long.

Trev and Orion have been eyeing Ma this whole time, and her calm composure was throwing them off. Shouldn't she already be out the door, yelling bloody murder for anyone who dared to harm Linx? Yet she wasn't. She was just sitting there, a knowing smile placed on her innocent face.

"Ma, you seem to be awfully quiet. Did you already know about Linx and his secret life?" Orion cut right to the chase, seeing the playful glint in her eyes. She tilted her head and just kept on smiling, though this time it wavered a bit.

"How long did you know?" Orion baited her, his voice going cold. Orion asked no more questions and let the silence sit, hoping it'll pressure her to speak.

Though, Ma wasn't pressured at all. She was enjoying this, but her worry was soon overpowering her sadistic side. For why would the secret be out, after so many years?

"Six years." Everyone shook at the info, staring at her with emotions varying from fury to doubt.

"So you've known about this," Kade took in a calming breath, "from the very beginning? Ever since Linx started Greco-wrestling, you knew and just accepted him being hurt?" Oh how much Kade wished to punch her and her stupid smile. But he still loved her, so he shot her a menacing glare, waiting for her to explain her decisions.

"Well, that's one way of putting it. Another way of saying it is that I kept my word to Linx." Ma looked around, seeing that she's gotten everyone's attention, and proceeded to tell them the truth.

"You see, the only reason I found out was because I threatened him. This was around the time when he starting to come home late, saying it was because of school activities, and all that bull. But when the weather was starting to get cold, and he was still coming home late, I made him tell me the truth or else I was going to get the police involved. He then told me all about Greco and what he was really doing. And I swear to you all, I truly did want to tell you all what was going on and where he was going, but," Ma sighed, remembering the heaviness she felt in those first couple months of staying quiet.

"But he made me promise to be quiet about his situation until he himself explained to you what he was doing. Heh, he even said he'll run away from us if he found out that I told you all the truth..." Ma weakly laughed at that, but soon her bright smile was back, "but since the beans are spilled now, and he did kind of tell you all that he does Greco, I can help you out!" She did small jazz hands, and only her wife and Trev smiled at her usual antics.

"Okay, if you can help us out, what do we do?" Just like Orion, Austin cut to the chase and his piercing brown eyes never left Ma's. Ma huffed a bit, growing tired of all their tense and worried faces. Ma decided to ignore his question and instead ask her own question.

"But here's a question," Ma looked back at Austin, a sharp glint in her eyes, "why's it such a big deal? So what if he's a wrestler, it's not like he's going to die. Why are you all so riled up about this?" Ma raised her eyebrows, letting the question sink in. And for what seemed to be the millionth time that day, the room grew silent.

Because why did they even care about this small ordeal? Sure, wrestling is dangerous and yes, Linx has been hiding it from them, but why were they all so riled up? None of them have ever really thought about the why of the situation, they all just wished for Linx to be safe.

After a few minutes, Finn spoke up, and his answer resonated with each of the boys.

"Actually, I don't think any of us care that much that he's a wrestler. Sure he gets hurt, and comes home late, but at least wounds can heal. But he also comes home with internal wounds, the ones locked up in his heart, and those you can not simply heal them. And while it's hard to explain," Finn paused for a moment, trying to describe the why of the situation, "We just want to see him happy. But the only thing we see is his silent suffering and attempts at using wrestling as a coping mechanism. Yet he never considered us as his coping mechanism. And that's why we're all of this for him. Because he didn't believe that we would help him and we want to prove him that we can." Finn finished, his eyes holding great pride for his lovers and everything they've been trying to do to help Linx.

Even so, Ma wasn't convinced yet. She needed more. More truth and more compassion from their answers.

"But why even care about him? What made any of you care about him so much?" And this was the question Ma was trying to dig at.

Why do they even love Linx?

Last time she checked, Linx has never done anything remarkable to any of the boys for him to gain their love.

And no, she wasn't being a bitch without reason.

She just had to make sure their love wasn't puppy love. That once they deem Linx 'fixed', they wouldn't throw him away. Because she knew that the only love that'll break through and truly touch a person's soul was unconditional love. And that's what Linx needed if any of them wished for him to start getting better and start trusting people.

And there was no way in hell she was going to let these loving idiots ruin their chances at getting Linx better.

"So? Why do any of you buffoons love my precious Linx?" She leaned forward, curious at what their prince-charming answer would be.

Perhaps Linx saved/helped them from something, and they've been in love ever since. Or they found him masturbating one day and now they couldn't wait to gobble him up. Or maybe they've fallen for his mysterious personality and couldn't help but fall in love with it.

Ma came up with scenario after scenario of what their answers could be, preparing herself for a counterattack for any response they throw her way.

"We don't know why. We just do." Trev quietly spoke, and no one disagreed.

Ma's brain froze for a second, not expecting that to be their answer.

They don't know why their hearts are in the palms of Linx's? Why they willingly suffer for Linx, just to see him smile? They don't know why they love Linx?

And that's the sad truth about love. You can never identify it, no matter how logical you're statement is.

For love is like beauty. It is different for each individual, with each person having their own requirements for what they consider beautiful. And even if they can explain why they find their object so spectacular, others might not understand where they're coming from. Maybe even the admirer of the object might not realize why they find the object so beautiful either.

It's all just a guessing game, with the rules being your emotions.

Ma understood this, for she's had many lovers before she found Liv. She actually still loves some of her ex's, with other ex's wishing they'll burn alive, and she accepts these emotions.

She's learned from her experiences that just as you need to let people in and let them go, you also have to do the same with emotions. You have to let the anger, love, sadness come into your life, taste it and learn from it, before letting it go, but keeping the memories that those emotions have brought you.

"So you all love him? And everyone of you accepts that fact that you love Linx, no matter how secretive and distant he is?" Ma leaned back into Liv's arms and relaxed, knowing that Linx might actually have a shot at being loved. That he might actually be able to love and trust again, as long as these fools don't mess anything up.

They all firmly nodded their heads with no hesitance. And though Remi wasn't with them to confirm his love as well, considering how he's been cleaning Linx's room everyday and getting home as soon as possible, hoping to find Linx home, they knew he loved Linx as well.

She nodded back at them, and finally relaxed into Liv's arms, knowing that her precious Linx will have people that'll fight for his trust and love, no matter what he does.

A solemn peace laid upon them. The boys sorted out their emotions, for this was the first time they all confirmed that they loved Linx, and the Mom's thought about what they do to help out the boys and Linx.

But the peace only lasted for a minute, because Ma still didn't answer Austin's question.

"So Ma, what should we do? What's our game plan to finding Linx and helping him out?" Austin asked again, and Ma shrugged her shoulders.

"I don't know. Maybe call him-"

"Linx hasn't had a phone for the past couple years. He breaks it or loses it before he can even open a single app up." Kade interjected, raising his eyebrow. He thought Ma already knew this?

She actually did know this. She just wanted to drag the conversation out, so she wouldn't have to anger them with her solution.

"Oh yeah, I forgot..." She smiled at them, but they could see her hesitance and mischief in her eyes.

"Ma, what'd you do all these years for Linx to not ditch you and ran away, like he has to us?" Orion asked, tired of her cat and mouse games. Ma sighed internally and thought to heck with it, might as well tell them her lame solution.

"The only thing I did was wait for him to tell you all the truth. Though I did watch some of his matches, that was as far as I interacted with his secret life... But what should you all do? I think waiting until he comes back and tells you the truth himself will be your best bet."

"But what if he doesn't come back?" Finn spoke up from the back, voicing all their insecurities. Ma snorted at that, finding it funny of how they thought that Linx running away was even a possibility.

"Linx would never run away, he's got too many relationships, too much of an attachment to this town to run away. Especially from the six of you. And even though he's currently scared of you all because you know his secret, he would never have the nerve to hate you all enough to never see you again." Ma said, knowing that she was making some pretty bold statements.

But seeing how Linx has never tried to come back and live with Ma and Mom, instead he kept on living with the boys, Ma knew Linx had to have some sort of emotional connection to the boys.

"So we just wait?" Trev asked, doubt in his voice.

"Yup, we just wait." Ma grinned at him.

"And what do we do once he comes back and our wait is over?" Trev asked again, doubt still dripping down.

"Don't know. But how about we talk about it tomorrow? Mom and I should be getting home by now, it's almost midnight." Ma stood up, Mom following suit, and the two walked over to the front entrance. Trev pursed his lips at her response, annoyed about her casual behavior.

But he didn't say anything and just let her be. They can figure it out tomorrow, it'll be fine. It'll be fine.

"Well, I guess that's my time to leave as well. Thank you all so much for inviting me, and it's been a pleasure to meet you two as well. I'll go and get Ivy now and we shall be out of your hairs." Rose stood up, smiling at everyone, before she walked into the small hallway towards Linx's room. She didn't get that far though, for Remi stopped her by the living room's exit.

"Oh, Rose! Perfect timing, I just wanted to ask you something. Is it okay if Ivy sleeps over at our house for tonight? She just fell asleep because she exhausted herself during her small temper tantrum, it being about how she doesn't want to leave because Linx's room is the closest thing she as to him. And I know you're probably going to say no, but hear me out! Because if you let her sleepover, then you'll be able to get a small break and-"

"Okay Remi, I think she got the point. And by the way she's smiling at you, I'm pretty sure she's going to say yes." Orion swooped by, hugging Remi by his waist. Remi, realizing that he was rambling, blushed the softest of pinks around his cheeks. Only Orion noticed it though and he dropped small butterfly kisses on his exposed neck.

Rose chuckled at their behavior and nodded her head.

"Sure, she can sleep over. But can someone sleep with her nearby? I can't sleepover, I'm going to have a bathroom remodeler come visit my house early in the morning and they didn't exactly give me a specific time of their arrival." Rose grumbled the last part. Though she was hoping she wasn't asking for too much, since she's only known these people for a month or so.

"Yeah, Remi and I can sleep on the floor. I'm a very light sleeper, so I'll just alert Remi when Ivy needs something." Remi nodded, agreeing with Orion.

"Awesome! I'll go and pick some of Ivy's clothes and drop them here then. Remi, since you're a kindergarten teacher, I'll trust you to change her clothing." Remi nodded again, beaming with a smile, happy that Rose trusts him with her child.

"Great, then I'll be back soon to drop off her clothes." Rose walked towards the entrance, where Ma and Mom were still waiting. But by the flirtatious looks Ma was giving Rose, Remi was expecting to see Rose in an hour or so.

"Well, bye all! Thanks again and see you soon." Rose gave them a quick smile, put on her jacket, and walked out, followed closely by Ma who was already chatting to Rose. Mom smiled at all of them, giving her silent 'I love you' to everybody. She then walked out as well and their meeting was over.

See you in an hour, thought Remi as he went back to Linx's room.
