《The Roftkal Love》Chapter Four

The the three of them clumped together in the back of the crowd watching the first match out of curiosity. None of them really knew how any of the matches work or why the referee stops the opponents and points at them. They still enjoyed the match though, even with the crowd yelling their hearts out any time one of the opponents got knocked to the ground.

Finn, being the wild party animal, was quite relaxed in this setting. Every so often he'll join the crowd and yell with them. Orion and Austin on the other hand, didn't like this crowd one bit. They didn't like how loud it was, plus the concrete walls just amplified the sound, or how uncontrollable people seemed here. Luckily, Orion was a security guard so he knew how to take care of these people if any of them posed a danger to them.

Yet, Orion and Austin couldn't help but also being entertained by the match, the wild energy in the air somehow rubbing off of them. They watched the two wrestlers hit, slap, and grapple each other and stopping when one of them seemed to do something wrong. And just as soon as it started, it ended.

The six minutes were over.

It took a minute or so to decide the winner, but the three of them didn't really care since they didn't even know why the winner was chosen. But time, and matches, flew by and all three of them found themselves yelling out each time an opponent seemed to gain an advantage. Austin quickly checked the time and was surprised that it was already 12:30 am. They arrived here at 11, were they really having that much fun?

The event was nearing to an end, there only being five more matches to go. But Austin knew the three of them should leave soon, as Finn was starting to lean his body against his own and Orion eyes starting to slowly droop down. Just two matches and we're going, Austin decided.

The two matches, like the others, were just as entertaining. Austin wondered, Is this what Orion does everyday? He shook that thought away, already knowing full well what Orion's job entails him to do. He protects people and gets paid for it, not hurting others and getting paid for it, Austin thought.

The second match ended, and the judges, which were nowhere to be seen, were deciding the winner. With that Austin stooped down and whispered to Orion's and Finn's ear, "Let's go. You guys are sleep walking at this point, and I don't want to piggy back you guys to the car." The two nodded, not feeling like arguing with Austin.

They turned around and expected to see the exit sign. Instead they only saw more bodies, the exit sign being at least twenty feet away. Somehow, the crowd managed to move them closer to the wrestlers while the three of them were entranced by the fight. Austin sighed, knowing that it'll take at least ten minutes to get to the exit sign. But he entwined his fingers with his lovers hands and began to move through the crowd. As he neared the exit, the next match started. The referee announced the wrestlers as usual.

"Next up is Razer and Roftkal! The new rookie of the year versus the old rookie of the year! Can Roftkal beat the youngster or has he gone rusty like his hair color?! Let's wait and see!" Austin cringed at the Ref's weird commentary to hype the audience, and it somehow it always worked. As he was about to push the exit door open, he was yanked backwards by his arms.

Austin was about to bark at the two, but their wide eyes and hanging jaws made him hold back his complains. He looked up where their eyes pointed, the at where all the matches took place, and couldn't help but gape as well.

Though it was just the back of his head, he could recognize that rusty brown hair anywhere. Even though it was combed back and yellow bruises littered his body, he knew.

Linx.

"Li-!" But before Austin could finish his sentence, the two pounced on him, their energy restored all of a sudden. Thankfully, they were in the back and didn't bump into anyone as the three of them toppled to the ground.

"What. The. Fuck?! Why did you jump on me and why, dear Lord, is Linx up there?" Austin was seething. He didn't really care that they jumped him, they already did that on a daily basis. But Linx fighting? His Linx that's going to be slapped, hit, and grappled by other strangers?

No fucking way.

Orion sensed Austin's turmoil, and before he did something that he'll regret, he tried to think of all the reasons of why Austin shouldn't tear through the crowd and startle Linx out of his mind.

"Austin, w-wait! If you go up there, then Linx might never speak to us again! Maybe this is why he's always coming home late, and if we ruin it here then we might never actually know why Linx doesn't want us to know this secret of his! So don't jump him and just watch." Orion wasn't sure if his reasoning even made sense, but it seemed to do the trick. Austin's eyes pierced through him, as if evaluating if Orion's reasons were enough to stop him. It did and he got up, leaned against the concrete wall, and stared the match.

The entertainment he felt before was all gone now, fury and fear replacing it.

The only reason it was entertaining was because it wasn't him participating in it, it wasn't him being hit and he took pleasure in seeing the opponents lift each other up and slammed them to the ground in a pin. It was fun. Plus, the opponents were strangers, he didn't care about them.

But now it's personal. Now that opponent that's going to be slammed to the ground might be Linx. There was nothing fun or entertaining about his family being hurt.

But then why did Linx choose to be up there?

He watched the match with a new passion, paying attention to everything. The match was already two minutes in and right now Linx and the other green haired guy were at a deadlock, both trying to find an opportunity to get the other off balance and strike them down.

Linx, unfortunately, was the one who was caught off guard, and the green guy used Linx's momentum to try to pin him down. But he failed as Linx quickly got his footing back and grabbed the guy's arms, using his momentum to pull him down on the ground. The green guy's back was facing the ground as Linx attempted to pin both his shoulders to the ground. But he quickly changed strategies as the guy's thrashing was too much to contain, and simply tried to maintain control over his body for a few more seconds.

The ref whistled his whistle and the two got up. The ref pointed to Linx and back to the ground. Linx then proceeded to get on his knees and arms while the green guy got on top of him. The ref whistled and both of them jumped forward, Linx to avoid the green guy's hold and the green guy to try to pin him. Linx pushed against the ground with his hands to try to create some distance between the ground and his shoulders as the green guy did the exact opposite. The two crawled on the mat, and a moment where Linx seemed to get out of his hold but the guy grabbed his knee.

The ref immediately whistled and the guy cursed at himself, while Linx still remained his stoic self. This time Linx was on top and the same action happened, with the two jumping forward. It progressed the same way, with the two moving about the mat. Though Linx did manage to touch one of the guy's shoulder to the ground, it only lasted for a few moments before the guy violently pushed against ground and managed to disrupt the hold on him. Yet Linx managed to keep a death grip on the guy before the ref whistled and the two got up once again.

The two continued to fight one another while standing up. Each time Linx managed to gain the advantage, or just simply hit the guy, Austin cheered on and proud of Linx to be able to hold his ground. But every time he was hit in return, Austin could feel the rare irrational side of him flare and to just simply punch the guy square in his face.

The two fought, and too quickly the green guy was told to kneel on the ground while Linx was ready on top of him to jump on him. The two were at it again, fighting to gain control over the other by any means.

Austin still didn't understand why they wanted to pin each other's shoulders to the ground, or why the green guy was the person who got on their knees first, or any of the rules. But he did know one thing, and that was for Linx to be safe. Austin didn't care if he won, he wouldn't even know why Linx would've anyway, just that each hit he took with only his singlet protecting him wouldn't hurt him too much.

And just like that, the six minutes was over. The three of them waited to see if Linx was the winner, and the results didn't disappoint them.

"It's seems like experience was the factor to today's victory! Roftkal is the winner!" With that, as if Austin was under a spell, he was aware of his surroundings again. Of the loud cheering, the absolute mayhem of the crowd, and of how Orion and Finn were mesmerized on Linx, or technically Roftkal.

The three of them joined the crowds cheering and support, though while the crowd only cheered because the match was entertaining, the three of them cheered because they were proud of Linx and how he managed to win a match all by himself.

But Linx was quickly led out of the stage and vanished behind a metal door. The three of them glanced at one other and came into agreement. They won't do anything until they've discussed this with the others.

They left, not caring for the last two matches, and walked to the car in silence, each one trying to process the information they've learned tonight. Austin got in the drivers seat and the two got in the passenger's seat in the back, right next to each other.

He started the ride back home, wondering where Linx will go after the match. Will he go back home? Is that why he's always late, never home, never with them? Austin didn't deny the blatant facts, but as he looked at the two through the mirror he could tell the two were finding a hard time to accept it as well.

Of course they were. This was supposed to be a fun and relaxing night, not the night where they discovered Linx's secret life and possibly the reason why he's been avoiding the six of them for all these years.

The car remained silent the whole drive home. Orion and Finn squeezed each other's hand, Orion rubbing Finn's thighs in comforting circles. Orion, in truth, did accept that this info might be why Linx acts the way he does to them. But a part of him did want to deny it, didn't want to accept that the way they learned this info was by mistake. And if it was a mistake, would they have ever discovered this? Did Linx ever plan to tell them about this part of his life, or even let them be part of it? Orion didn't think so and that was the part he didn't want to accept. Didn't want to accept of how little trust and just how little they truly know about their sweet Linx.

Finn on the other hand forced his mind to be blank so he wouldn't have to deal with the info. He knew he should, he could already hear Kade's nagging voice in the back of his mind that this is the only way he can resolve the turmoil in his heart, but he ignored both his mind and heart. He really didn't want to deal with it, and that's all he thought in the car.

They arrived home and as expected the whole house was dark. Austin unlocked the door and waited for the two to get in before getting in as well. They swiftly underdressed of their Autumm attire and Austin went to the Master's bedroom. The two followed suite and soon they all piled into their bedroom, where the other three were sound asleep. Trev was sandwiched between Kade and Remi, the two using each other's arms as pillows. Finn smiled at the sight.

The three soon went through their nightly routine and joined the other three in bed. As if Kade sensed their presence, he moved over to make more room for them. Fortunately they didn't need that much space, and the three soon cuddled with one another.

Austin, in a whisper so quiet they almost didn't hear him, said, "Don't worry, we'll figure this all out tomorrow." The two stiffly nodded and closed their eyes, wanting sleep to take over. They soon fell asleep and the six quietly slumbered together.

Linx sat on the porch swing, alone. He stared blankly at the starless sky, feeling the fatigue within himself but choosing to ignore it as usual. He never knows why he always comes here, but the same feeling was always present every time he sits here.

He thought back to his match, and how he finally won a round after a whole month of losing. Yet, he didn't feel the satisfaction of the win, just the same fatigue. But, that feeling was why he even won. Why he didn't rush into every move and waited for the guy to mess up because he was too tired to be mad, too tired to really give a care about the match. He just won because he was lazy. He wasn't that good to begin with.

Linx continued staring, his chest heavy with emptiness.

If he could, he would sleep here, but he knew the boys would see him and then he'll bring more worries to them that they don't deserve to feel. God, they don't deserve so much of Linx's crap, of how he doesn't talk to them but they still prepare food for him, how he doesn't pay any of the bills but he still gets a room to himself, how he doesn't do any of the chores but they still wash his clothes. They're too nice to him, too forgiving.

Seeing the sky turning amber and gold, Linx decided it was time to head to Rose's apartment to babysit Ivy. He didn't really feel like sleeping, especially so close to the boys, so he just settled on being sleep deprived. It wasn't like it was his first time anyway.

He jogged away, a pair of eyes following his retreating figure from the window.
