《The Last Hybrid》18-The Ring

Jonathan picked up the now mud covered ring.

"I'm sorry, Jonathan. I didn't mean to drop it."

He cleaned it off. "It's fine. I didn't know it was gold. "

"Where did you get it?"

He stared at it. "It was my mother's."

I gasped.

I feel worse now.

He wanted to give me His mother's ring.

And now I can't wear it.

"I am so sorry." I said.

"It's just a ring. It's you I love." He kissed my lips.

He put the ring back into the blue velvet box.

"I'd rather you would have dropped it then it burning through your finger." He said.

He grabbed my hand and stared at my burnt flesh.

"Let's get you to the pack doctor." He said.

"I'm fine. It doesn't hurt anymore." I said.

"But it hasn't healed yet and your eyes are still glowing. Let's go."

We walked in silence to the pack house.

We walked up to his room and waited for the pack doctor to arrive.

She walked in holding a clipboard and a suitcase.

I'm guessing there were basic medical supplies in it.

"Good afternoon Luna." She smiled.

"Good afternoon Dr. Rose."

"Alpha told me that you touched gold?"

"Because I'm a hybrid gold is my only weakness and I put on a gold ring. It affects me the same way silver would affect you."

"I'm guessing it still hasn't healed yet. Silver effects us the same way."

I nodded.

"I need to examine your wound." She said.

I held out my hand.

She put on gloves and began to look at my finger.

"Looks similar to a silver wound. It should go away in a few minutes."

"Thank you doctor."

She smiled and left the room.

Jonathan walked over in front of me.

he leaned his face closer to mine.

"I hope your answer is still the same even though the ring didn't work out."

I put my arms around his neck. "You know damn well my answer hasn't changed."

He kissed my lips. "Don't worry I'll get you a new ring."

"You don't have to."

"But I want to."

"I just feel bad. That ring was your mother's and I can't wear it."

"I can always get it remade."

"Still. I fell bad that I can't wear it the way it originally was."

"You are getting a ring, even if it kills me." He kissed me again.

"Are you sure?"

"For you, anything."

~Time Skip~

It has been about a little less than a month since Jonathan proposed.

He kept his promise and got his mother's ring remade.

Just for me to wear it.

It wasn't made of gold or silver anymore.

It was pretty much just fake gold now with real diamonds.

I didn't mind anyway.

It was perfect the way it is.

No matter what it was made of.

It was rose gold with a rose gold flower in the center.

It was a double ring.

The center of the flower had a white diamond.

On both sides of the flower on the bottom ring had two smaller diamonds.

On the top ring next to the flower was a rose gold leaf.

I loved everything about it.

It was perfect.

It still looks exactly the same as it did before.

Archie has gotten a lot closer to Josie also.

And I think his parents are beginning to accept him also.

I was with Marie, Stephany, and Josie watching a movie in Stephany's room.

Quincy was also in the room but he was asleep on the floor.

I had just walked in and I was going to show them my ring.

My grandma was coming over also.

I was going to tell her as soon as she got here.

No one knows that Jonathan proposed yet and I was nervous to tell them.

"Ladies," I spoke. "I have a surprise."

"Is it another sleep over that actually works out." Stephany asked.

We tried having another sleepover more than once.

But something always interrupted us.

The second time Quincy got sick.

The third time it was a full moon and everyone went crazy since it was the first full moon since I got back.

And the fourth time which was yesterday but I had to go pick up my ring.

I spoke. "First off I am planning another one soon, but this is a little more important."

"What can be more important than us?" Josie said.

I smiled and held up my hand showing my ring.

They all gasped and screamed.

They ran towards me and hugged me.

"Ah!!" Quincy whined. "Why are you screaming!?"

"Quincy." I said happily.

He turned his head towards me and saw my ring.

"No way!" He gasped. "He finally grew some balls."

Stephany admired the ring. "This is my mother's ring. I'm so happy you have it."

She brought me into a hug.

"You're getting married!" Marie squealed.

I smiled and nodded.

"I'm planning the bachelorette party." Josie smiled.

"Go ahead." I said. "Plan whatever you want."

"Who else knows?" Marie asked.

"Just me and the groom." I said. "Also my grandma is coming over and I'm going to tell her next."

There was a knock at the door.

"That was amazing timing." Josie gasped.

I opened the door and my grandma was standing in the doorway.

"Hi grandma." I hugged her.

"Are you girls ok? I heard screams from downstairs." She said.

"We were just excited because," I held up my hand.

She gasped. "Honey that is amazing! I feel like I'm going to pass out."

She hugged me again.

"My granddaughter is growing up." She let me go and began crying.

"Don't cry grandma. You're going to make me cry."

"Ok. Let me see the ring!" She smiled.

I held out my hand as she admired the ring.

"Have you told your pack yet?" She asked.

"No. Not yet."

"Well Jonathan is downstairs. Let's go tell your pack!"

She grabbed my wrist and dragged me downstairs.

****************

Everyone was celebrating our engagement.

Everyone was eating and dancing to loud music.

The whole pack was happy.

Also, some got drunk somehow.

I'm guessing it was some specially made alcohol.

There haven't been any attacks by my mother or anyone.

I don't know what she is planning.

But right now I don't care.

I'm just happy right now.

But I can't help but fell this.

I don't care what she has done in the past.

She is still my mother.

I want her to be at my wedding.

I can't imagine my mother, not at my wedding.

Even when my mom was going to make me marry Wyatt.

I still wanted her to come.

I don't want my aunt Hazel or Violet.

I just want my mother to attend.

Jonathan's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

"When do you want to get married?" He smiled and put his arms around my waist.

I put my arms around his neck. "As soon as we can."

"Well with some help with everyone at the pack, I'm guessing in just a couple of weeks."

I smiled widely. "Sounds good to me."

I brought his lips to mine.
