"What do you want mom? I promise I'm willing to negotiate." I said.
"I want you to restore my powers." She said.
Jonathan struggled against the ropes and shook his head.
"Be quiet!" One thug hit Jonathan over his head.
I flinched when he hit him.
"What's your decision, honey?" My mother said.
"Let's take things slow. First, remove the gag from his mouth." I said stepping closer.
"Stop walking towards us." She turned to her thugs. "Remove it."
The thug roughly removed the gag from Jonathan's mouth.
He was breathing heavily. "Don't do it, Rosie. Don't listen to her."
I missed his voice.
"Shut up!" A thug hit him over the head again.
I flinched again as Jonathan groaned in pain.
I hate seeing him like this.
"Don't tell us you already started." A new voice appeared.
Quincy growled as we saw the new people walk out of the forest.
Violet and her mom, my aunt Hazel.
"Yeah, I started. but don't worry she'll give in." My mom smirked.
"What are they doing here?" I asked.
"Oh did I say just my powers, sorry sweetie, I meant mine and theirs."
"Rosie, think about what you are doing." Quincy said. "You know what she's really after."
I turned to my mom. "That's not what you said."
"Well that's the deal, you restore our powers and you get your little boyfriend back."
"Rosie doesn't do it!" Jonathan begged. "You don't know what she'll do if she gets her powers back."
"Stop talking." My mom said then turned to her thugs. "Go ahead. Have some fun."
Her thugs began to punch and kick Jonathan.
I nearly cried at the sight of it.

"Enough mom!" I yelled and the thugs stopped. "I'll do it!"
My mom smirked. "Good choice."
"But first you have to let him go."
"Sorry but no. I know you can be dishonest at times." She said.
"Fine whatever! Just tell me what I have to do!" I yelled.
"Repeat after me and focus your energy on us."
Violet, Hazel and my mom stood side by side.
I put out my hands in front of me with my palms facing them.
My mother said the words. "Repeat these words, per haec vires restituere de animabus quod restituo in locum suum in mundum."
I repeated the words. "Per haec vires restituere de animabus quod restituo in locum suum in mundum."
I large blast of light came out of my hands and shot all three of them.
They were glowing brightly like they were giant life size light bulbs.
They looked like they were in pain but they recovered quickly.
"Thank you, Honey." My mom smirked.
She casted a spell and they were all gone.
Except for Jonathan.
He laying on the ground, groaning in pain.
I ran to him and fell on my knees next to him.
I cradled his head in my lap.
He reeked of alcohol and B.O.
"What did she do to you?" I cried.
"I'm fine." He groaned before passing out.
"You are clearly not fine." I turned to Quincy. "Do you think you can carry him back to the house."
"No way! He's huge!" Quincy said.
I growled before casting a spell. "Hoc grave salva me leva."
Jonathan was now floating.
I was able to move him with the motion of my hand without touching him.
"I have to heal him when we get to the house." I spoke.

"Then let's stop wasting time."
We began walking.
Well, we were more running than walking.
We had to hurry.
Jonathan you idiot.
Why did you let her capture you?
I know you're stronger than that.
We soon arrived at the house.
I ran inside with Jonathan and Quincy.
"Grandma!" I called for her.
"What wrong?" She walked up to me and gasped when she saw Jonathan. "What happened to him!?"
"It was my mother. Grandma he's really hurt!"
"Take him to your room and set him on the bed, find out what's wrong with him. I'll start on making some healing potions. The animals should be back soon."
I nodded and rushed to my room.
I carefully set Jonathan on my bed.
Quincy laid at the foot of the bed.
I sat on my bed and cradled Jonathan's head on my lap.
I grabbed his head carefully with both hands and close my eyes.
I missed him, so much.
'You have no right to even touch him.' I heard a familiar voice in my head.
'Don't be like that Valentine.' I responded.
'You left him! You were only thinking about yourself!' She yelled.
Valentine is usually a kind and quiet person.
She can be upset at times but she's never this angry.
Valentine growled and blocked me out.
'She's right you know.' Circe popped up in my head.
'You guys cant be mad at me.'
I'm not. But she is.' She blocked me out.
I turned my attention back to Jonathan.
"Sana quod est facere ut dolor corporis." I casted a spell.
All of his cuts and bruises healed.
There was still some dried blood on him but that was it.
I casted a different spell. "Indica mihi quid dolorem."
This spell was supposed to tell me if there was anything else wrong with him.
Apart from the injuries in just healed.
He's dehydrated, He has alcohol in his system, he's exhausted, in desperate need of a shower and shave and...
I opened my eyes and flinched.
He's suffering from a broken heart.
I carefully placed his head back on the bed.
I go up from the bed and stared at him.
He's like this because of me.
It's my fault.
One thing around his neck caught my eye.
How did I not notice it before?
He had my stone.
He had kept it.
I felt a tear roll down my cheek.
I quickly wiped it away.
"What's wrong with him?" Quincy asked.
"He's tired and dehydrated. It'll be a while before he wakes up." I responded.
"When are you going to tell your grandma what happened?"
"I'll tell her as soon as we Heal Jonathan. I promise."
I went downstairs and walked into the living room.
My grandma was mixing different potions into Coldren.
She said witches don't have to use them but she uses one anyway.
She says it's her only fun.
"Rosie what are his symptoms?" She asked.
"Dehydration, exhaustion, and in need of a long shower."
She grabbed small bottles off the shelves.
"Water, peppermint, and lilac." She mumbled and she poured the ingredients in the Coldren. "Anything else?"
I sniffled. "And a broken heart."
She paused. "That's something I can't fix with magic."
I nodded. "I know."
"Only you can fix that sweetie."

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
