《The Dragon Within(HTTYD)》Nineteen

I can't believe this is happening! Here I stand in front of a large beast that I sworn to kill yet instead leave it be. It stares into my eyes as if judging every inch of my soul.
"If we want to be free of her highness' game, we must pull out new playing card." Night walks between the two rows of us five teens and dragons. Today we were to learn how to trust a dragon with our own lives. Without trust we were better off dead when facing the monster of Night's nest.
He described her as the side of a mountain, never afraid to kill an enemy, nor comrade. A true queen without a soul.
We had a plan to defeat her, but we needed to learn how to ride dragons, trust them, understand them. The elder and Gobber watches above to observe our training.
"First off,you must reach out your hand. "
"You crazy they'll eat our hands!" Snaps Snoutlout .
"If they really wanted to attack, they would've already." Night sighs.
"Just do it." I added with announce filling my voice.
The rest of us follow Night's instruction by cautiously holding out our hands. The dragons begin to sniff our hands mesmerizing our scents before pressing their muzzle on our palms. The nadders scales were warm yet cool at the same time. They were smooth as newly made swords blade and shines brightly in the sun light.
Night had to help Snoutlout with his chosen beast, a monstrous nightmare. It waits for the stubborn boy with bored eyes. Night grips Snoutlout's wrist and guids him slowly to the creature. Once close enough the beast presses him muzzle to the boys palm. Snoutlout let's out a sigh of relief and excitement.
"Congratulations, you've made a bond with your first dragon." Night smiles. That smile soon fades when a terrible terror comes squawking through the arena bars. It lands perfectly on his shoulder .
"What is it Sharpshot?"
The two go back and forth unbeknownst to any of us but the dragons who join the conversion.
Night seemed troubled as he sighs and nods. He waved his hand dismissing the little dragon before calling out one last time. He returns to the group.

"It's seems we'll have to train in a faster pace. The queen is becoming suspicious."
"Then what do we do?" Asks Fishlegs.
Night smirks widely which sent unnerving chills down my spine. He leads us to the edge of Berk, a cliff, the same as before. Looking down at the waiting waters below ,I was amazed that we were even alive.
"Are you ready?"
"Uh for what?" Says Ruffnut.
"Yeah what?" Adds her brother.
Fishlegs shrieks in fear once he calculated what was going on while the rest were clueless. Night makes a click like growl which left us clueless, until I felt my person being pushed passed Night and off the cliff.
I look up to see the boy standing there looking down at us with amusement as the others, including myself, cry out in panic.
"He's trying to kill us!" Cries out Snoutlout.
"Him too!" Says Tuffnut.
Night jumps as well with ease. His face calm yet had a goofy grin on his face. The Night Fury comes up under him letting him stand on his back.
My body soon was in contact with a hard ,smooth and rough surface. I was on the Nadder who glides inches above the breaking waves.
"Flying. "Night says once every one was on top their dragons.
Well almost. Snoutlout was being held by the nightmares mouth since he missed his landing spot. The twins cling to their two headed dragons necks. As for Fishlegs, he clings to the gronckles tail,in result caused it to let out gas fumes.
"You could have told us!"
"Oh I should've ,but how will you ever learn with instructions? "Night asked.
"Um it keeps you alive! "Fishlegs replies while positioning himself on the Gronkle.
"That may work for you in the village. But in the sky you must think..." the Night Fury growls."...and follow your instincts." The dragon snorts with a nod.
Night had the dragons take control throughout the lesson. We were to learn how each others minds work and learn each others skill while in the air. We practiced in the forest were the trees are either scattered and cluttered together.
The Nadder whom I decided to name Stormfly, came to a tree with low branches. I wanted to go up yet instead we went down and through the open gaps of the tree. As the day went on, I was beginning to understand. Dragons and man think differently. Their acts of survival is also the opposite yet they still keep them alive, or to their demise.

Later that evening, Night and the other dragons were to return to their nest. But Stoick insisted that they stay for a welcome back party held in the mead hall. Night sent the other dragons home to inform their queen that he and Toothless were on... business.
"To my son...Hiccup Haddack the Third! "Announces the chief with a mug of ale.
"To Hiccup! "Everyone cheers.
Hiccup sat by the chiefs side not really interested in the event. He stares into his dragons eyes as if having a silent yet serious conversation. The dragon seemed eager to leave as much as his brother.
"Son, are you enjoying yourself?" I watched as the chiefs wife tries to create conversion with her son.
Night...Hiccup,stares up at Valka "I do not know what to feel about this. Its nice I guess but I have more important matters to do than be merry. "
I wanted to smack some since into the boy. Here he is with his family and he doesn't acknowledge that their trying to make him feel welcome, spend time with him. Lucky.
"I'm sorry Ms. Haddack, we must be going." Hiccup leaves the heart broken parents ,the village mixed with emotion for the boy and his true family.
You're lucky. I thought as my heart yearns for what I lost, and burns at what he gained.

I have no time for parties of any sort. The queen must be disposed of soon or everyone will suffer. My thoughts wonder off as I begin to mount on Toothless when I am brought down by a familiar blonde whose crystal blue orbs glare into my soul.
"Why so cold all of the sudden?" She growls. I didn't understand her question. Cold? Me?
"Your mother. She was only trying to get to know her son! "
Ah,I see. I sighed as I explained what was going on. "The queen is growing tired of relying on us gathers, she will leave the island and search for food herself. "
"Isn't that a good thing?"
I shook my head. If only. Again I was about to depart but Astrid would not leave me be. The more time waisted, the more the queen will make true to her threat.
"What is it th st you want from me Astrid? What ever it is I can provide since I'm the chiefs son."
Astrid looks at me with hurt in but says nothing. I climb onto Toothless once again only for Astrid to follow.
"Take me with you. Lets see how threatening your queen really is."
She is only going to regret it. Toothless says.
Yeah but I can't get her to back down. If she wants to make an a audience with her majesty so be it. Come on bud. It's high time she learns what we are going up against.
.....................................................
I watched as the two leave on top of the beast. My heart grew heavy and envied Astrid for becoming closer to my son. Stoick seemed to be thinking of something when he watched them leave. His eyes focused on the direction they headed off to.
"Ready the ships!" He calls out. "We are heading out."
He hurries to the largest boat, I follow behind asking what he was planning. Stoick explains that since only dragons and Hiccup know of the nests location, we are to follow. Once the nest is found,we are to raid it head on.
I wasn't to sure about my love's idea. Although it sounded clever, I doubted it would work. Hiccup explained before that his queen was not to be taken on lightly and th st is why he needed to train our young ones.
"Dear, don't don't you think we should follow our sons plan?"
"Dear,is we don't do this,we will never be able to bond with our son. We must do it. Are you with me?"
He holds out a large, rough yet gentle hand. He looks at me slightly pleading me to say yes. I love him and will follow him were ever I am needed. Even to our last battle.
"Yes." I take his hand and follow him to the ship. There is no turning back.

MeiQ: Lore of the Labyrinth
Omaros City lays near one of several Yggdrasil trees that are scattered around the world. Each tree holds an entire labyrinthine ecosystem within or beneath it, yet the mysteries of their origins and what lays in their depths are only ever unraveled by the most skilled and courageous of explorers. Exploration of Omaros' Yggdrasil labyrinth is still in its fledgling stages, drawing in many with the allure of fame and glory that has yet to be claimed. Enter the harbinger Dubhan—cheerful, determined, and not terribly skilled at thinking ahead—and warlock Allouet— intelligent and resourceful, but desperately in over his head. Together, the two of them have half an idea of what they're doing at best, but that's not going to stop them from aiming for the labyrinth's unknown depths. MeiQ is, at its core, a fanfiction inspired by the Etrian Odyssey franchise, alternatively known as Sekaiju no Meikyuu in Japan. Despite that, it is written with the intent to be enjoyable by those unfamiliar with the series as well. The characters and the city of Omaros are original, while the story draws upon lore and recurring concepts from the game series. However, Etrian Odyssey is known for its lore being sparse and open to speculation, so much of the details provided in this story are exactly that—a fan’s speculation and personal expansion of the lore. This story was also inspired by and written as part of HereBeTreasure's Fast Food Frontpage Competition, enjoy some simple dungeon exploration plot and whatever else pops up from this.

I, Mor-eldal: The Necromancer Thief
As a budding little necromancer, I soon discovered that the world of city people is complicated. When my master kicked me out of the cave, he warned me not to talk about my “dark” magic, because people here don't like the undead. I am not really an undead, I just have a skeleton hand, but it is better to be careful. Anyway, that's not my biggest worry. In the Black Dagger brotherhood, I learn a lot of things, such as illusionist magic, which turns out to be quite handy to survive in this maze of streets: in the Cat Quarter, we have thugs of all kinds that are best avoided. But we also have good people, goodhearted “gwaks”, as we say around here. Little did I know that I would soon be caught up in an infamous traffic that would entangle my life even more. With a mix of lighthearted adventure and picaresque, this story narrates the hectic life of a good-spirited street child and his companions in a medieval urban fantasy setting with some nineteenth-century influences. Updates Mondays and Fridays. This is a Creative Commons By work. It is a translation of a trilogy I wrote in Spanish between 2017 and 2018.
