《The Hybridz | TBZ✔》Valentine's Special

"Shh, be quiet!" Sangyeon hissed. "She can't see it yet!"
"See what?" I asked.
They all froze and tried to hide whatever they were doing behind their backs. I looked at them weirdly, wondering what they couldn’t show me.
“What’s going on?” I asked.
“N-Nothing”, Haknyeon said.
“Jacob, what’s going on?”
“W-We’re making a Valentine’s day surprise for you…”, he mumbled and looked down into the floor.
“Oh God, I thought you were doing drugs or something. I will go and forget about this until you’re done, okay, guys?”
I turned and was about to leave, but Younghoon grabbed my hand.
“Now that you saw it, you can have it already”, he said.
I saw how they took out a pastry of some sort. They had done their best to bake it and decorate it with some hearts.
“No, guys, that’s so sweet”, I pouted. “Have you done this all by yourselves?”
They nodded proudly.
“It doesn’t look that good...we thought that we would fix it, but...yeah...you came and here we are”, Chanhee sighed.
“I think it looks perfect, guys, thank you so much.”
“You do?” Changmin wondered.
“I do. Thank you, guys, can I take a bite?”
They all nodded, wanting to see my reaction to what they had baked. I took a bite. It wasn’t good. At all. They didn’t know how to bake and the clumsiness and chaos it must have been in the kitchen didn’t help. I saw their anticipated faces and had to keep smiling. I couldn’t let them know that it tasted horrible, so I swallowed and smiled.
“Thank you, guys, it was really good.”
“Really?!” they all asked happily.
I just smiled. They were too precious for this world.
“We promise to not be annoying today”, Eric said. “Not that we’re annoying usually-”
Kevin hit him in the chest.
“Ouch, you bitch!” Eric shouted.
I only laughed.
“It’s valentines, don’t fight”, Younghoon said.
“Y/N, we really do love you”, Jaehyun said. “I know we don’t say it often, but we really, really love you.”
“I love you too, guys. I’m so happy that you’re mine.”

Unwitting Champion
"In stories this is always easy. There's magic and powers, and quick steps to claiming that power for one's self. This doesn't feel true for me. I'm supposed to be a Champion, whatever that means, and yet I don't feel important. I don't have all the bells and whistles, which honestly feels familiar even in a new world. But what was I expecting? I haven't had the worst life - there are people with worse problems than mine - I've known what it is to struggle, to be pulled down instead of being helped up.This is nothing new."When in great peril, the Kingdom of Althor has no choice but to send a call into the void, beseeching the Fates to bring them a man who would save them from the coming darkness. Unfortunately the path the Fates chart is often unknowable to men and the Champion who appears is not what the kingdom expected.Unwitting Champion is a story of a guy displaced, dealing first and foremost with trying to survive in a world where he is no longer a person but a tool, and - at least from the reaction of those around him - a shoddy one at that. His major goal is to survive long enough that either he can run or find a way home, because as exciting as the possibility of learning magic might be, he would rather have a boring life than a short life.
