We let her down. We promised that she would never get hurt. We let her down.

When her family came, they completely ignored us and went straight for Y/N. I got a bad vibe from them. They didn’t like us.

“Should your hybrids really be here?” her mother asked quietly, but I could hear her with my sensitive hearing. “They’re animals.”

“They’re going to stay”, Y/N said. “They’re not your hybrids. They’re mine.”

I couldn’t help but smile. SHe was right.

“You should back away”, I said, gaining their attention. “She is fragile.”

“Younghoon”, Y/N sighed. “Don’t worry. They’re not dangerous. They’re just my parents.”

“But they are”, her father said, giving us a bad look. “They’re animals! They can’t feel human feelings.”

“We can’t?” Sangyeon growled. “Do you know what we can, though? We can rip your insides out.”

“Everyone”, Y/N sighed. “Please calm down. I can’t deal with any of your anger right now.”

“Sorry, Y/N”, Changmin said. “We didn’t mean to.”

“You can’t stay here with these dangerous animals! They let someone hurt you!” her mother said worriedly.

“We didn’t!” Eric said. “We would never have let her go outside if we knew what would happen!”

“You have to sell the hybrids, Y/N, it’s for your own good”, her father said.

That made my ears perk up. She couldn’t. I understood her parents' concern after a situation like this, but we would never hurt her! We all started getting angry at her parents for even thinking that about us.

“Mom, dad, please leave”, Y/N said weakly. “I want to be alone with my hybrids. You’re upsetting them...”

“We shouldn’t leave if they are getting abusive-”

“They’re not abusive, please...just go...I’ll catch up with you later.”

“Okay then, sweetie”, her mother said. “I love you.”

WHen they left, Y/N started crying. I hurried up to the bedside and held her against me.

“Cry”, I whispered. “Get it all out.”

“I feel so bad”, she sobbed. “You don’t like each other...I feel torn between.”

“It’s okay, it’s okay. We’re here for you, Y/N. Forever.”

SHe hugged me back and I let her cry out. I looked at the others who looked as sad as me.

“Y/N, you should rest a little”, I said and pulled her away from me to put her back against the pillows. “You need all the strength you can get.”

I looked at her face and carressed her face softly. She had a bruise by her eye that I hated. I wished I could take that away.
