《The Hybridz | TBZ✔》Chapter 2 | The "Castle"

A few days later we were allowed to walk around in the corridor while packing our stuff.
“Can I pet your ears?” I heard Changmin ask Younghoon.
“Seriously?” he scoffed.
“Yes?”
He bent down so the hamster could feel his fluffy ears.
“Happy now?” he sighed.
“Very.”
I smiled at the childishness and folded a shirt.
“Woah”, I heard Chanhee say. “Sunwoo, your teeth are so sharp.”
“Duh, it’s raccoon teeth”, I smirked.
“I don’t have any animal teeth at all. Penguins don’t have teeth so I only have human teeth.”
“Well, they can’t be strong.”
“They aren’t…I’ve been going to the dentist a lot.”
"Interesting."
I heard two laughs and saw that the two dogs started playing with each other.
These are the people I’m going to live with? Oh my God.
“How do you think Y/N is?” Sangyeon asked. “Do you think she’s nice?”
“I think she’s insane”, Eric said.
“What?” Jacob asked. “Why?”
“She adopted eleven hybrids without even knowing what animals we were or our names! She doesn’t know if any of us are dangerous. I am.”
“Some of us are predators...I don’t understand why she would take us all”, Kevin said, narrowing his eyebrows.
“It doesn’t matter”, Juyeon sighed and shoved a pair of pants down his bag without folding it. “As long as we get away from here. I’m not dying anytime soon.”
“What if she doesn’t like us?” Haknyeon asked. “What do we do then?”
“We have to behave. Sure, we don’t know her or each other, but we’ll get along, right?” Sangyeon asked, looking at us all with warning eyes. “Right?”
“Right”, we all answered, sensing the vibe from him.

He was someone that we shouldn’t mess with. I could tell that he was very calm, but I did not want to make him angry. Bears were absolutely dangerous.
“If Y/N doesn’t like us, we’ll have to try harder”, Jaehyun smiled brightly. “We’re going to try hard.”

I came to get them one day and they had been waiting. They seemed shy, but grateful, which I appreciated. I was glad I could help them. I had started getting used to the idea that I would own the hybrids soon. Maybe it would be okay. I needed their presence. We got home and they started looking around, amazed by the size.
“You have a big house”, the bear, Sangyeon, said as he looked around. “It’s like a castle…”
“Yeah, i got a whole lot of money after a relative died, so I moved into a big house. You’ll have a lot of space to play in and a big yard”, I said and turned to them. “Now, I’ve made up room arrangements. If these don’t work, let me know and I will change.”
They stood in front of me in a half circle, holding their suitcases. They looked like schoolchildren on a field trip. They looked so lost.
“Come with me!” I smiled and started walking upstairs. I stopped by a door. “This is Changmin’s, Chanhee’s, Jacob’s and Jaehyun’s room.”
They walked inside and chose a bed each. There were two bunk beds. I continued walking to another door.
“Juyeon, Younghoon, Eric and Kevin in here”, I said and opened the door.
They chose beds as well.
“And in the last room”, I said and gesticulated at the last door. “Is Sunwoo’s, Haknyeon’s and Sangyeon’s room. After you’ve settled, come down to the living room and bring the others with you.”
When they all had gathered on the couches in the living room, I couldn’t help but smile.
“Welcome, boys, I’m glad you’re here.”
They smiled for the first time and I could tell that they finally let their guards down and relax. They were safe now.

Myscreth
At its core, magic is just the ability to change the laws of nature. Mason Grant's life was going just as he'd always planned. Then a knock at the door changed everything. Normally, he would have considered Professor Anklin's tale of a civilization destroyed because it had learned how to manipulate the laws of nature crazy. Of course, that was before he saw his couch resting on the ceiling. Travelling to Myscreth with the Professor, Mason discovers a world of contradictions. On a ruined world, the Myscrethian people live much like the early American settlers, yet thanks to the ability to manipulate the laws of nature there’s unlimited electricity and powered flight. As Mason begins learning to control abilities he never dreamed possible, he discovers that not all is as it seems. Even as the Myscrethian people try to rebuild their world, there are those who seek to once again unleash the power which led to its destruction. And this time it's not only Myscreth's fate that hangs in the balance, but Earth's as well. Author's Note: This novel is now complete.
