《Her Siren (A Jane Volturi love story)》Part 29

*Jane's POV*

I had to wait five hours for the next flight to America, which felt like an eternity.... well, you know what I mean.

When it finally landed though, I was the first one on that plane. I tried my best to be patient but it was so hard when Melanie was all I could think of.

Ugh, why did I have to be so dumb and leave her like that?

I had no clue.

God, please let her forgive me when I get there. She can be stubborn after all. She may chew me out a bit, probably a bit angry but more hurt, but then suffocate me (if she she could of course) in a hug. It was kinda funny how well I knew my mate...

After about 20-30 minutes, we were in the sky. I would admit, the humans did smell awfully good.

But I would restrain my thirst for Melanie's sake.

I would do anything for her after all.

After a while, the plane finally landed and I quickly got off the plane, without using my vampire speed of course, and went straight into the mountains. I wasn't going to waste my time on a cab.

I just needed to see her and make things right again.

*Melanie's POV*

I was currently in my bed, curled up in a ball. Alice had left a few hours ago and the others tried to get me to come out but I just wouldn't budge. I know they're just concerned for me but I didn't want them.

I wanted Jane...

Ugh, why did I have to be so stupid? Of course what I said must've hurt her! Maybe I should have just agreed to join the Volturi? At least we could have been together from now on.

I sighed as I continued watching the Disney movie that was on TV. Of course it had to be be about love, making me groan in frustration. It was just getting to the happy ending when I turned the it off. "No such thing as a happy ending." I muttered, getting up and going downstairs. "No such thing as an ending at all when you're a vampire."

I noticed that the others were no where to be seen. 'They must have went hunting.' I thought as I sat on the couch and turned on the TV that was downstairs. I scrolled through the channels, finally deciding to just watch Criminal Minds. Even though I like woman, I was hoping that Mathew Gray-Gubler's face would distract me from my sorrow.

I then heard a knock on the door, making me sigh as I got up. It was probably a Girl Scout selling cookies. I always hated rejecting them but there was no point in buying one since we couldn't eat. But my friends say they're to die for.

I opened the door and looked down, expecting to see a little girl's face but I quickly looked back up when I saw a pair of legs.

I gasped slightly, eyes wide as my golden eyes met a pair of red ones."Jane?"

"Hello mio amore." She said and I looked at her before slapping her. Hard.

"What are you doing here? No, it doesn't matter what you're doing here, why are you here? I thought you went back to Volteera! Know what? Forget that! You're back! I can't believe you came back!" I said, practically jumping on her. She chuckled and wrapped her arms around me.

"I'm sorry I left, my siren. I just thought that leaving would be the better option for both of us. Turns out that was a really idiotic plan, huh?" She said, running her fingers through my hair.

"Yeah, it was really, really, really, stupid!" I said, looking up at her. "And if you ever do something like that again, I'll hurt you. I won't kill you because that'll just hurt me in the end, but I will hurt you.... and then probably take care of your wounds in the end because that's just the type of person I am." She chuckled and placed a kiss on my head. A thought then came into my head, making me frown. "What are we gonna do when you're supposed to go back?"

She frowned but shook her head. "Let's not worry about that yet, alright? Let's just enjoy each other's company and we'll figure out to do as we go on." She said, leading me into the house. I smiled slightly as I cuddled next to her in the couch. She wrapped an arm around me, making my smile widen.

It was perfect....

Until my siblings ruined the moment.

"What is she doing here?!" David's voice interrupted our moment. I sighed as he ran over towards us.

"David, please calm down." Clarisse said, making him huff slightly. Josie just stared at us, blinking slightly.

"I came back for Melanie." Jane said. "What I did was absolutely foolish and juvenile and I take full responsibility for whatever pain I caused her."

"Awww, ain't that sweet!" Josie gushed. "David, maybe we should give her another chance!"

"Another chance? No wa-!" Clarisse interrupted him with one of her famous glares.

"That is your sister's mate. I suggest you do give her a second chance David Theodore Nightshade!"

"Ooooo~ you just got middle named." I teased, a smirk on my face. He looked at me and then back at Clarisse.

"Second chance? She's the reason Melanie hasn't hunted in days!" Jane looked at me when he said that.

"You haven't hunted, mio amore?" I shook my head and she grabbed my arm, dragging me outside.

"Jane, where are we going?"

"I'm going to make you hunt. I can't believe you haven't hunted for days!" She said as she let go of me. "Stay right here, I'll be back." She said before speeding over somewhere. About two minutes she came back with a mountain lion, and when I smelled his blood, my mouth watered slightly. I immediately stuck my fangs into it's neck, feeding off of it.

When I was done, I looked up at Jane, who was watching me intently with a smirk on my face. "You know, you're rather... what do they say?... oh, I know. You're rather hot when you do that."

I snorted. "Don't try to talk like that love, you sound so... not you. It's funny really." I said I pecked her lips.

And when she smiled at me, I knew we were going to be ok.

***

Later that day, we were sitting in a field of flowers, holding hands. My head was on Jane's shoulder as I talked about random things.

"Jane? Are we going to be forever?" I asked, looking up at her. She looked down and smiled at me.

"Only if you do one thing." She said and I giggled.

"And that is?"

She pulled something out of her pocket before saying two words that made my unmoving heart start moving again.

"Marry me?"
