*Melanie's POV*

When Alice came over, she immediately went to my room.

When she walked in I sped towards her, hugging her tightly while trying not to break down then and there. These past 24 hours has just been me sitting on my bed, watching Disney Channel, while wishing I could cry.

"Mel, what's wrong?" Alice asked, separating the hug.

"She-she left Alice. We had a fight and she left!" I said, sitting on my bed.

"Oh, sweetheart." She said, rubbing my back. "I'm sure she'll come back soon. You're mates after all."

"But what if she doesn't?"

"Don't think like that because she will. My vision will come true, you'll see." I sighed and nodded, hugging my knees.

"What was your fight about? If you don't mind me asking."

"No, it's fine. Basically, she wants me to join the Volturi but I don't want to. I can't leave my family..." she nodded in understanding.

"I'm sure she'll come back soon. She loves you."

"I... I hope so..." I said, sniffling.

*Jane's POV*

When I returned to Italy, everyone was surprised to see that I was back. I didn't say anything to them, instead hurrying to my room so I could be alone with my thoughts.

I made sure to lock the door as I sat in the chair that was in my room. I pulled out a book, reading it. Well, at least I tried to read it.

I would admit, it did hurt me to leave Melanie, it hurt a lot. But I had to. It's clear that we had different plans in life. We would of had to separate anyways.

I just decided to rip the bandage off...

A knock on my door then interrupted my thoughts. I composed myself before opening it, only to see Alec.

"Yes?" I asked him, face showing no emotion.

"You're in pain. I can tell." He said, entering my room.

"I didn't give you permission to enter my room."

"Ok, and? Doesn't matter Jane. You need to go back to her." He said as he grabbed my bag, stuffing clothes into it.

"Alec, stop! Just stop!" I said, snatching my bag away from him and sitting it on the floor. "Melanie and I have different paths in life. Alright? It... It will never work between us." I sat down on my bed, putting my head in my hands.

"You two are mates Jane. It will work out. It has to."

"Well I'm not so sure."

It was silent for a while.

"I still think you should go back to her." He said, breaking the silence. I sighed and stood up, looking at him.

"You're not going to let this go, are you?"

"I just want to see you happy Jane, and she makes you happy. You make her happy."

With that, he left, closing the door behind him. I stood there, thinking about what he said. He was right, I would never admit that out loud, I wouldn't want to give him the satisfaction.

I looked out the window, seeing humans walking together. Some where holding hands, bet they're couples. It made my heart ache to see that.

I then looked back at the bag that Alec had stuffed clothes in.

"Damn you Alec." I groaned out before grabbing my bag and quickly re-packing it. I then rushed to the airport, hoping that there was another flight to America.

I know it would take a day or two but it would be worth it to see her again.

I never should have left in the first place...
