*Melanie's POV*

I was so happy when Jane finally arrived. It feels like I haven't seen her in centuries, even though I've been alive for two. But then again, the bond between us made it feel that way.

It was hard to think that just last week I didn't want anything to do with her. But now I wanted everything to do with her.

After a bit, I knocked on her door. I had to warn her about my friend coming over to work on a project for school. She opened the door and I smiled at her, her smiling back. "Hey Jane, can I come in?"

"Well yeah." She said, opening the door for me to enter I smiled a bit and skipped over to sit on the bed.

"So, I need to warn you that one of my friends are coming over to work on a project."

"Ok." She said, putting her hair in a tight bun.

"One of my human friends." I said, emphasizing the word human.

"Ok." She said again, looking at me. "I'll make sure to feed before they come over then."

"But will you be able to control yourself?" I asked, standing up. "I really don't want my best friend to die Jane."

"I'm not going to kill her Melanie." She said, rolling her eyes. "I'll be able to control myself, really."

"Ok Jane. She'll be over soon I expect." I said, looking at the clock that was on the wall. I then looked back at Jane and smiled. "Love ya."

"Love you too, my siren." She said, kissing my cheek. I smiled and rushed out of the room.

When the doorbell rang, I rushed downstairs with my vampire speed. I stood in front of the door though so I wouldn't look so suspicious though. When I did open the door, Sadie was scrolling through her phone. She then looked up and smiled at me. "Hey girlie!" She said, hugging me. I laughed and hugged her.

"Hey Sadie. Come on in." I said, smiling at me best friend. She entered the house and went into the living room.

"David, 'sup man." She said, holding her fist out for a fist bump. He smiled and fist bumped her.

"C'mon you heterosexual, we have a project we need to work on and I want you to meet someone."

"Ooo, new people." She said, making me smile. She always loved meeting new people. When we entered my room, Jane was sitting in my bed reading. I smiled and cleared my throat, getting her attention.

"Jane, I would like you to meet Sadie, my best friend. Sadie, this is Jane. My girlfriend." I said. Sadie let out a little squeal of excitement.

"So you're the lady who Melanie went to Italy for. I still can't believe you didn't invite me!" She said, making me roll my eyes and laugh. I then looked at Jane, giving her a look. She sighed and got up, holding out her hand.

"Hello." She said. Sadie just laughed in response.

"Friends don't shake hands silly, they hug!" She then gave Jane a tight hug, making her tense. I smirked slightly and she glared at me. I just made a heart shape with my hands, her rolling her eyes in response.

When she separated the hug she turned back to me. "Come on, let's get started on this project!" She said, going to her backpack and dumping markers, glitter, glue, and all sorts of other materials.

I laughed slightly and went to go get the poster board that was in my closet. I laid it in the floor as we began decorating it and putting information on it.

We talked about random things, her rambling on about a new boy band. "What is your project on?" Jane asked after a bit.

"The beheading of Anne Boleyn." I said.

"Oh."

"Yeah, I don't think she was guilty in my opinion." I said, Sadie nodding in agreement.

"She was only accused of that shit because Henry wanted a son. But she gave him a daughter, that became one of the most badass queens in history!" Sadie added, making me laugh and nod.

As we continued working, it got later and later. "I should probably head home now." Sadie said, looking at the clock. I nodded and helped her collect her stuff. "I'll see you tomorrow. Nice meeting you Jane." She said before skipping out of the room.

"Your friend, she is quite the ball of sunshine." Jane said, getting up.

"Mhmm." I hummed, wrapping my arms around her. "Only if you were like that."

"I can be like that once in a while." She muttered, wrapping her arms around my waist.

"Sure you can." I then kissed her, her kissing back. It was a short kiss, sweet and simple. When we broke, she smiled slightly. Her smile made me smile, I couldn't help it.

God, I never wanted to let this girl go.
