*Melanie's POV*

After Spanish, Math, P.E., and Health it was finally time for lunch. Of course, I didn't eat. But luckily, everyone believed me when I told them the food here was nasty. And it was. Sadie always says the Pizza tastes like cardboard.

When we got to the cafeteria, Sadie and I saw our friend group. There was seven of us in total, Sadie and I included.

First, we have Lilian Baxter. She's definitely a full on Pansexual. She's the type of girl to have a crazy hair color like every two month, currently her hair was a bubblegum pink color. She is literally the sweetest person in the world honestly, like I've never met someone as kind and innocent as her.

Second, we have River Mason. They are non-binary, meaning they go by they/them/their's pronouns. But they're also cool with she/her/her's but they prefers being called they so that's what we do. They usually keep to themselves when they're around someone who's not in our group. But when they're around us, they talk. Like a lot. It would be about random things like a new move they just watched, or a new books series they found, or even a favorite song. But sadly, their parents don't support them, so they live with Jasmine.

Speaking of the devil, Jasmine, or Jazzy for short, is our favorite Bisexual. She's actually dating this boy but he's like a Freshman in college. She's into horror movies and heavy metal. In fact, she made us have a horror movie marathon during Halloween. Yeah, it gave Lily nightmares. So we agreed to never do that again, at least while Lily's around. She's also Ace, meaning she 'doesn't do the dirty' as she puts it.

Then we have Josh, who's also Bi. He prefers boys though but strangely enough he doesn't have a boyfriend. I mean, if I wasn't a girl and still gay I would definitely shoot my shot at him. He likes music a lot and is definitely a good singer too, and that's coming from a girl who can literally control people with her singing! He wants to become a famous singer one day and I hope he does. He has the talent and the confidence for sure.

And last, but certainly not least, we have Cody. Cody is a trans-boy, meaning he was born a girl but his brain like disagrees with that thought basically. He has short hair and wears hoodies to give make himself look more boy-ish, although he wears binders already. He's basically the nerd in our friend group. He's into gaming and comics, especially marvel. He likes to write and draw and all that stuff. He's also in theater and has been trying to recruit me into joining, even though I refuse, saying 'I'm not any good'. He's tried getting Josh to join as well but gave up after a while when he kept on saying no.

"Well, well, well. Look who finally decided to show up after a week." Jasmine said as I sat down.

"Yeah, yeah." I responded, rolling my eyes a bit. We had to wear brown colored contacts when we were at school so no one would get suspicious of us.

"So where were you?" Forest asked as they took a sip of their milk.

"She was in Italy! And she didn't even invite us!" Sadie said, slamming her tray on the table.

I rolled my eyes again. "I told you, my family and I had some private matters to take care of."

"What private matters?" Cody cut in.

"I'll tell you guys after school." I said, making them shut up.

"So Mel, you know what play they're doing at school this year?" Cody asked not-so-casually.

"What musical are they doing?" I asked, looking at him.

"Into The Woods!" He said excitedly, getting some weird looks from other tables.

"Cool." I said.

"You should tryout as Cinderella! You would be perfect for the part!" He said, making my eyes roll again.

"I don't know Cody, all those lines and such."

"Come on Mel!"

I sighed. "I'll... think about it." I said.

"Cody, if she doesn't want to try out then she doesn't have to." River cut in.

"But Riv!" Cody complained, making them roll their eyes.

I chuckled fondly. "He wants me to tryout as Jack." Josh said.

I rolled my eyes a bit. "Of course he does." I said, laughing slightly.

We all continued talking until we heard the bell, meaning that lunch was over and it was time to go to our last few classes of the day.
