《Her Siren (A Jane Volturi love story)》Part 20

*Melanie's POV*
After a day, it was my first day back from school. Woohoo...
That was sarcasm if you didn't get that.
I sighed, getting ready. As I did, I started singing lightly.
Girl, you got me helpless!
Look into your eyes and sky's the limit,
I'm helpless!
Down for the count and I'm drownin' in 'em.
I have never been the type to try and grab the spotlight.
We were at a revel with some rebels on a hot night.
Laughin' at my sister as she's dazzling the room.
Then you walked in and my heart went "Boom!"
I sighed after I finished getting ready. I looked at myself in the mirror, I didn't look that bad if I do say so myself. I was wearing a white tank top with a denim jacket over it so I wouldn't get dress coded, ripped jeans, and some white vans. I then decided on putting hoops in my ears today. But I don't wear makeup, we're vampires. We're naturally stunning. And I just don't like the feeling of it on my face.
I then sat on my bed, deciding to read a bit before I had to leave. I was reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone when Clarisse came in.
"Bonjour Melanie." She said, sitting next to me.
"Hey." I said, still reading. When I was done with this chapter I looked over at Clarisse and as usual she was all dolled up. She was wearing a green blouse with black pants, pearl earring were in her ears along with a pearl bracelet, and she was wearing black heels. She wasn't wearing makeup though but you couldn't tell since she was beautiful. I bet she was beautiful in her human life as well.
"Are you excited to go back to High School after our trip?" She asked. I gave her a look at she chuckled. "Yeah, I thought so."

I nodded, laying on my bed. I stared at the ceiling, trying not to think of Jane. I failed though. I really missed her, like a lot. Did she miss me just as much? I hope so.
"Thinking about your mate?" Clarisse asked after a bit. I nodded, not even bothering to lie in front of her. It was impossible to lie in front of Clarisse. I even tried using my powers to try and lie to her, nope not even that worked... "You'll see her in a few days Mel."
"I know Clarisse, but right now it feels like centuries are shorter than these few days."
She nodded in understanding. "We should probably get going soon." She said, standing up. I nodded, sitting up and stretching a bit. We then rushed down to the car, David and Josie already waiting.
"Wow, took you two long enough." David said. I noticed he was wearing his famous green sweatshirt, making me roll my eyes.
"David, you literally have a whole outfit full of clothes. So tell me why do you have to wear the same fucking sweatshirt all the time."
"Uh, because I fucking can." He said. Suddenly we started speeding off. Luckily, the part of California we live in is cloudy most of the time so we could go to school almost everyday. Yeah...
Again, note the sarcasm.

We soon got to the hell hole. Even after living for 184 years, I still hate school. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing my friends, it's just the learning part that I don't like. I mean, why do we need to know about the war of 1812? I was literally there! Of course no one outside our coven knows, but still!
David parked the car and we immediately got out and looked around. The parking lot was full of a lot of people from different cliches. I didn't really like the thought of cliches but apparently that's how you survive high school. We all said our goodbyes before heading off to our friend groups.

Clarisse was apart of the Popular Girl cliche. There were five girls in that group, counting her. We have Tambry, Jessica, Mia, CeCe, and of course Clarisse.
David however, was apart of the Jocks. He was on the football team as a Quarterback. I couldn't stand them, well besides David of course.
Then we have Josie, she's part of the Tech Nerds. They basically love technology and coding and all that, Josie is actually really good at Hacking surprisingly.
And then we have my group. My friends, well,
we all like different things but we have one thing in common, we're all a bunch of Queers.
Speaking of my friends, where the hell are they? They're not at our usual meet up place. "Maybe they're already inside." I said to myself, heading inside.
I went to my locker, putting my bag inside and grabbing some textbooks. I then felt someone grab my shoulder, making me jump. I heard laughing and I rolled my eyes fondly, knowing who that laugh belonged to. "Hello Sadie." I said, turning around.
Sadie was a a short girl with dirty blonde hair. She had blue eyes and was around 5 feet. So yeah, she was short. Along with that she's straight as a stick but also an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, so that's cool. But she's like the only one who's both straight and cisgender in our friend group. "I got you so good!" She said, still laughing.
I rolled my eyes again. "Yeah, yeah. One of these days I'm going to get you back."
"Pfft, you wish Bish!" She said, me giving her a weird look.
"Heterosexuals are weird." I said.
"Nah, we're not weird. But do you know who is weird?"
"Who?"
"Mr. Bobinski." She said, making me laugh.
"Yeah, he is pretty freaky." I said, closing my locker.
We then started walking through the crowded hallways. "So where were you for a week?" She asked.
"In Italy." I said, making her head snap at me.
"And you didn't invite me? Man, I though we were friends?" She asked, making me laugh.
"We are, but I had some private business I needed to take care of. And you couldn't be there."
"Ok, what private business are you talking about anyways?" She asked, making me roll my eyes.
"I'll tell ya later. Let's just get to class." I said. She nodded and we headed for our first class of the day, Spanish.
