*Melanie's POV*

It's been a few days since I last saw Jane, today was Tuesday. I was currently in my room, reading when I got really bored. I couldn't speak to the others since they were out hunting, Jane was busy with Volturi shit, and no way in hell was I going to talk to that human. She is exceptionally rude....

I sighed and went to my mirror, taking my raven hair out of my messy bun. I then started brushing it. As I brushed it, I started humming a tune. And then I started to sing it...

"Dancing bears, painted wings.

Things I almost remember.

And a song, someone sings,

Once upon a December."

I then stopped brushing my hair and started dancing around the room. Usually I wouldn't do anything like this but I knew no one was going to interrupt me.

"Someone holds me safe and warm,

Horses prance through a silver storm.

Figures dancing gracefully, across my memory!

Far away, long ago!

Glowing dim as an ember!

Things my heart used to know, things it yearns to remember...

And a song, someone sings...

Once upon a December."

When I stopped it was silent, as expected since I was alone. Until I heard a voice say, "You're good."

*Alec's POV*

I was walking through the castle, whistling a slight tune. My sister was currently in the east if the castle, while I was in the west. Aro assigned me to check on those nasty animal-feeders. Even though my sister wanted to do it since her mate was one of them. I'm not particularly happy about my sister being mated you a golden-eye but I can not do anything about it.

As I was walking towards there rooms I could here.... singing? I rolled my eyes and rushed to the noise. It was coming from the raven haired girls room. Marina? Melania? Melanie, that's her name. I opened the door a bit and watched her. She was good, I'd admit that much.

After she was done, it was quiet. She had her back facing me so she didn't see me. I might as well talk now. "You're good." She jumped and turned to face me. She just stared at me and I rolled my eyes. "No thank you?" I asked, looking at her up and down.

"Thanks, I guess..." she said, I could see her tense up. I rolled my eyes for the twentieth time that day.

"I'm not going to attack you. Jane would kill me and I do not want to face my sister's wrath." I said and I could see her become less tense but was still skeptical about me. I scoffed a bit. "Tell me where the others are."

"They're out hunting."

"And you did not join them?"

"I'm not hungry. Now can you leave now?" She asked, glaring at me.

I glared back at her. "If I was you, I would watch myself. I'm the brother of your mate."

"So? Doesn't mean I have to like you!" She snapped at me.

"Well I don't like you either so..." I said back at her.

"I don't want you to like me. Now leave before I make you!"

I scoffed once more and left the room, passing my sister on the way. She didn't even bother to say hello to me, eager to see Melanie I assume.

*Jane's POV*

Right after I was done with my duties, I headed to Melanie's room. I haven't seen her since Sunday, and today was Tuesday. Once I got there I knocked on her door, waiting for permission to enter. After I heard a light "come in" I entered, closing the door behind me.

She was sitting on her bed, reading a book about Norse Mythology. "I didn't know you were into Mythology." I said, sitting next to her. Not to close though so I didn't invade her personal space.

She shrugged. "It started when I read Percy Jackson, then I started investing in Greek Mythology, then other mythologies."

"What's a Percy Jackson?" I asked, frowning.

"It's a book about the son of Poseidon and his adventures. It's really good actually. If you want, I can give it to yo-"

"No, I'm fine. Thanks anyways." I said, looking outside her window. It was quiet for a while before she spoke again.

"So are you coming with us next week?" She asked, putting her book down.

I nodded. "That was the deal. Was it not?"

"Yes, I just wanted to make sure." She said, also looking out the window.

"I'm sorry that I haven't spoken to you in the last couple of days." I apologized, looking at her.

She shrugged. "It's alright. I've had my family to keep me company."

I nodded, looking back out. The streets were crowded with humans, I smirked a bit, knowing that some of them would be my next meal. Melanie must have noticed my smirk because she scoffed.

"Can you not think of your meals why I'm here?" She asked. I nodded, rolling my bright red eyes. I then saw Heidi in the crowd, leading a group of tourists to the castle. I sighed and got up.

"I'm going to go now." She nodded a bit, looking at me.

"Are you coming back?" I shrugged.

"I might. Why? Do you want me too?" I asked, smirking a bit. She gave me a look and l knew that if she could she would be blushing right now.

"I-I mean if you want you can. B-But you don't have too of course!" She added quickly.

I just laughed. "I'll come back, don't worry my siren." I then left before she could say anything else.
