*Melanie's POV*

As we were walking, I was staring at Jane. I just couldn't help it. She was so elegant and graceful and very beautiful. She was the most gorgeous thing I have ever laid eyes on. I didn't snap out of it until Josie nudged me. "You're staring." She muttered, making me roll my eyes.

"Trust me, when you find your mate you'll be staring at him also." I muttered back. Out of the corner of my eye I swore I saw Jane smirking a bit.

We soon got to a corridor with three doors. The two then turned to us. "This is where you will be staying." The boy, I believe his name is Alec, said. We nodded and rushed into our rooms.

When I entered mine, I looked around. It was definitely fancy and so not my style. I sighed and sat my bags down. I then flopped on my bed, it was soft. If I was still human I bet I would be sleeping right now.

I then heard a knock on my door. "Come in." I said, sitting up. The door opened and Jane came in. I didn't say anything, just looking at her.

We stared at each other for a while before she spoke. "I assume you find the room to your liking?" I shrugged.

"It's alright I guess." I muttered a bit. The tension in the room was a bit awkward. Just then Josie bursted in the room.

"Mel! Feel their towels! They're so-!" She was about to say until she spotted Jane. "Oh, um, hi there. Uhhhhh..." she said, hesitantly walking past her. "Like I was saying, they are so soft..." she finished, still staring at her. I could tell she was intimidated, and I think Jane could tell too because she smirked. I glared at her and turned to Josie.

"Why don't you go back to your room and we'll talk later." I said, glancing at Jane.

"Uh, sure. Yeah. Bye Mel, bye Miss." She said, rushing out of the room with her vampire speed.

"'Miss?' Does she not know my name?" She asked.

"She calls everyone 'Miss' unless said otherwise. She was raised like that, to be polite and all that." I said, getting up. "It took her two weeks just for her to call me Melanie." I muttered.

"Does she have any powers?" She asked. I knew why she was asking and I glared at her.

"We are not joining the Volturi." I said to her.

"Melan-."

"No Jane! Now if this is all you came here for, trying to convince me and my family to join your dumb cult I suggest you leave." I said while shaking my head, looking away from her. I heard her sigh and she sped out of there.

I sighed, laying down on my bed. Would she ever get that we are not interested in joining the Volturi? Apparently not...
