*Melanie's POV*

Months have passed. It was around December when it started to snow, everyone was watching, praying to whatever god was out there that it didn't stick. But of course, it did. So here we are now, standing in a snowy field waiting for the Volturi to come.

I was standing next to my brother. Clarisse was on the left of him and Josie was on the right of me. Josie was a bit nervous, she has heard of the stories about the Volturi and how twisted they were. I was holding her hand, calming her down. Where's the empathy guy when you need him?

Renesme was standing next to Bella and Edward. Jacob was in his wolf form. I had eventually got used to the smell of wet dog.

Soon, we saw black robes coming our way. I took an unneeded intake of air. They eventually stopped. They all put down their hoods.

The first person I noticed was a girl with blonde hair in a tight bun. She had ruby red eyes and pail skin. Her lips were a light pink. In my opinion, she was beautiful. She looked at me and I looked away from her.

"Aro, let us discuss as we used to, in a civilized manner." Carlisle spoke to him.

A man with black hair, who I assumed was Aro, smiled. And not a friendly smile, more like a strained smile. "Fair words, Carlisle. But a little out of place given the battalion you've assembled against us."

"I can promise you, that was never my intent. No laws have been broken."

"We see the child, do not treat us like fools!" A man next to Aro spat at him.

"She is not an immortal. These witnesses can attest to that. You can look for yourselves. See the flush of human blood in her cheeks." Carlisle raised his voice a bit.

"Artifice!" The same man spat out.

"I will collect every facet of the truth, but from someone more central to the story." Aro spoke again, his eyes landed on Edward. "Edward, as the child clings to your newborn mate, I assume you are involved." Edward looks at Bella then starts to make his way towards Aro. I can tell that Bella is using her shield.

As Edward reaches Aro, he extends his hand. Aro takes it. He closes his eyes and opens them back up. He then smiles again. "I would like to meet her."

Edward turns to look at Bella and nods. He then looks at me, silently telling me to come with the two. I nod and made my way over to them, walking with Bella, Jacob, and Nessie.

"Ah, young Bella. Immortality becomes you." Aro said when we got to him. 'That wasn't creepy at all' I think, Edward smiles a tiny bit but then becomes serious again. Aro suddenly shrieks with laughter, making me jump a little. "I hear her strange heartbeat."

Aro holds out his hand for Renesmee to take but she just walks closer to him. "Hello Aro." She greeted him with her light voice. Renesmee then touches Aro's cheek. Aro becomes transfixed by what she is showing him.

"Magnifico." He muttered, amazed. He then turns to his army. "Half immortal, half human. Conceived and carried by this newborn, while she was still human." He turns back to us.

"Impossible!" The same guys spat out. I glared at him, he needs to learn how to shut up.

"Do you think they've fooled me, brother?" He asked him. Aro waved us off and we went back to our places, me standing next to my brother and Josie.

"Bring the informant forward!" A blonde girl is brought out by two large guys. "Is this the child you saw?"

The blonde girl looked at Nessie. "I'm not sure."

The man turned to the beautiful blonde girl who I was staring at earlier. "Jane?" She looked at him. I just noticed that she was staring at me.

"She's changed! This child is bigger." The woman being held down quickly spoke.

"Then you accusations were false."

"The Cullens are innocent. I take full responsibility for my mistake." She looked towards Kate and her coven. "I'm sorry."

"Caius, no!" Edward quickly shouted, but it was too late. One of the guys that was hold her snaps her neck off.

"Irina!" Tanya cried out.

The guy, who I now know is Caius, lit Irina's body on fire. Kate and Tanya screamed and tried to go over to Aro's army but Garret holds Kate back. Kate electrocutes him, trying to make him let go. Edward turned to Zafrina. "Blind them!" He said to her. She nodded and did so.

"We must attack!" Tanya shouts at him.

"Tanya, this is what they want. If you attack now then we'll all die." Edward said. He then looks at Zafrina and she stops using her powers on them.

As Kate and Tanya stop kicking, I notice the beautiful blonde girl look at Edward. "Pain." I hear her say. Bella must have noticed too and put her shield around him.

"It's working!" I muttered happily.

Carlisle then steps up. "Aro, you see there's no law broken here."

"Agreed. But does it then follow that there is no danger?" He then turned to his army. "For the first time in our history, humans pose a threat to our kind. Their modern technology has given birth to weapons that could destroy us. Maintaining our secret has never been more imperative. In such perilous times, only the known is safe. Only the known is tolerable, and we know nothing of what this child will become. Can we live with such uncertainty? Spare ourselves a fight today, only to die tomorrow."

I then notice two figure coming out of the woods. Aro must have noticed as well because he smiled. "Ha! Alice!" He greeted her excitedly.

Alice and Jasper walk over to Aro. Two of Aro's guards stop them though.

"My dear, dear Alice, we're so glad to see you here after all."

"I have evidence that the child is not a threat to our kind." Alice spoke. She extends her hand and Aro immediately too it. After about 5 minutes he lets go of her hand. "Now you know. That's your future, unless you decide on another course." Alice said, taking her hand away from him.

"We cannot alter our course, the child still poses a grave threat." Caius spoke to his brother. I rolled my eyes a bit, this guy really wanted a fight apparently.

"But if you were sure she could remain concealed from the human world? Could we leave in peace?" Edward asked.

"Of course, but that cannot be known."

"Actually, it can." He looked towards the woods to see two more witnesses come out.

"I've been searching for witnesses of my own, among the Tekona tribes of Brazil." Alice said. I smirked a bit.

"We have enough witnesses..."

"Let him speak, brother." Aro hushes him.

"I am half human, half vampire, like the child. A vampire seduced my mother, who died giving birth to me. My aunt Huilen raised me as her own. I made her immortal." The man spoke. I assumed the women next to him was his aunt.

"How old are you?" Bella asked quickly.

The man turned to him. "A hundred and fifty years." Bella smiled, happy that she got a good answer.

"At what age did you reach maturity?" Aro asked.

"I became full grown seven years after my birth. I've not changed since then."

"And your diet?"

"Blood, human food. I can survive off neither."

"These children are much like us." A man that I do not know the name of spoke.

"Regardless, the Cullens have been consorting with werewolves, our natural enemies." Caius spoke. I growled a bit, I have actually grown fond of the mutts.

Aro turned to his army. "Dear one, there is no danger here. We shall not fight today." Some of the Volturi looked disappointed, especially Caius and that beautiful blonde named Jane. They soon sped off. The blonde girl gave one more glance at me and we made eye contact. I could get lost in those ruby red eyes of hers. She was the first one to look away and then sped off. Before Aro left, he turned to Alice and Bella. "Such a prize." He then too sped off.

"We have on the run, now is the time to attack!" Vladimir shouted.

"Not today." Carlisle said.

Stefan turned to us. "You're all fools! The Volturi might be gone, but they will never forgive what happened here." We don't listen to him. They leave in anger while we head back to the Cullens' house to rejoice.

But I can't stop thinking about that beautiful blonde....
