*Melanie's POV*

We turned around to see who it was. I tensed when I saw it was Carlisle. He walked over to us and hugged my brother first, who hugged back, and then hugged me. I tensed a bit but I hugged back awkwardly. He let go and noticed Josie and Clarisse. "Ah, and these two ladies are?" He asked us.

"This is my mate, Clarisse." David introduced her, they shook hands.

"It'z a pleazure to meet you." She said, Carlisle nodded as if saying the same thing.

"Hi ya! I'm Josie, nice to meet ya." She greeted, her southern accent strong.

"Likewise." He greeted back. He then turned to all of us, his face going serious. "You may be wondering why I called for you, correct?" We all nodded. "Well it might be better if I showed you. Follow me please." We did as told, following him into the living room.

We saw other covens chatting amongst themselves. I smiled at them but my smiled dropped when I saw a little girl sitting with a man while playing the piano. I immediately knew she wasn't human and hissed, getting everyone's attention. The man who was sitting with the girl put an arm around her, protectively.

"Mel? What is it?" Josie asked.

"Carlisle," I hissed at him. "Are you mad? Creating an immortal child?! The Volturi can find out then we are all in deep shit!"

"They already know and I-"

"They already know?!" I interrupted him. "You want us to cover for you, don't you? Well I'm not letting my family cover up for your little mistake! I refuse!" I poked his chest every few words.

"We didn't turn her!" A women with long brown hair interjected.

I turned to her. "Oh really? Then why do I see a little girl that's not exactly human playing the piano?! I'm not sure if I should be more pissed that you broke the law or that you ended a little girl's future of living a normal life!" I glared.

"Melanie, let them explain. I'm sure they have a reasonable explanation for this." Clarisse said.

I sighed, frustrated. "Okay fine. But if it's not good enough then me and my family are leaving." I said towards Carlisle, who just nodded in response. The man, who I now recognize as Edward, brought the girl over to use. I would admit that she was the most adorable child I've ever seen. Edward smirked a bit. I glared at him, I forgot he was a mindreader.

The little girl was about to put her hand on my face until I moved away from her, looking confused. "It's how she communicates." Edward said. I nodded. She put a hand on my cheek and I saw everything. To the day she was born, to her catching snowflakes with her mum and a mutt, to now. My eyes went wide.

"But how... that's not....?" I trailed off after she took her palm away. "I'm sorry for what I said."

Edward nodded. The child soon went to each of my family members, who also went wide eyed. "So does this mean you'll help?" The brunette that I saw in the vision asked, I assumed that was her mum.

We all looked at each other, having a silent conversation. David turned to Carlisle.

"We're in."
