《Dark Protector ✔》Chapter 23: Christmas Dream
Advertisement
Christmas Day had arrived and it was time for a wedding.
The Centauri pack had gone wild from day break and not only making sure that all the decorations were up but to also get the snowy fields ready for all the guests. They had installed a speaker in the field to play classic Christmas music which allowed everyone to feel the festive spirit despite the hectic schedule.
Klaus ran up the stairs to his bedroom to finally get dressed. He had already made sure to send everyone else first because they took the longest. He opened the door expecting to see his mate and Bone done, but he found King spread across the bed. He was resting on his stomach with his head propped on his arm and his legs hung off the edge of the mattress. Klaus predicted that King didn't intend to fall asleep but the party preparations, kids and pack must have worn him out.
"King, you need to wake up," he said as he took off his sweater. "We don't have much time left until our guests show."
King didn't budge nor make a sound like he heard him. Klaus went over to him and laid down beside him.
"Honey," Klaus draped his limbs over King, "wake up."
King opened his eyes when he looked down at the blond head tucked under his chin and resting on his chest. Klaus was snuggled against him and a smile appeared on King's lips.
King abruptly wrapped his arms tightly around Klaus. Klaus squirmed in surprise and tried to get out. "I caught you," he jested.
"Ha ha, very funny," Klaus mocked. "Let me go, we need to get ready for the party."
King caressed down Klaus's back. "There's still loads of time," he said as he pressed closer to his reluctant mate.
"King," he said as he felt the raging erection against him.
"Klaus," his eyes sparkled with mischief.
Klaus pushed King back against the bed and went down on him. King lost it the moment he saw Klaus's mouth wrap around his cock. The throbbing erection filling inside his hot, wet mouth and he licked the head just like King liked it.
"Fuck, Klaus, don't stop," King moaned.
Klaus pushed deeper and swallowed all of King's essence.
"Good boy," King grinned.
Klaus pushed King off the bed with him. "Now, get dressed already," he forced.
King sighed dramatically but nonetheless listened to him. Klaus ran off into the shower to freshen up, which hadn't intended to be long until King used to excuse of getting dressed and got in the shower with him. Klaus had no control over what happened next. Only that forty-five minutes went by and they were even more late now.
"Stop pouting, it's doing things to me," said King, as he lounged back on the bed in his new tuxedo which was gifted from Zoya. Everyone's suits tonight were a gift from her. King matched his suit with a silky black shirt; unbuttoned and casual, he left his bow untied around his neck too, not bothering with it.
Klaus glared at King through the mirror. "Seriously," he remarked.
King winked. "Want me to prove it?" he asked.
"King! Klaus!" The door abruptly opened to their bedroom and King rolled his eyes at the intrusion; it was Bone. "Are you both dressed?"
"We are, finally," said Klaus.
"Who is ready to party!" Leo's voice was heard from the hall and it was seconds later that the five students bombarded into the bedroom. Leo, Dante, John, Levi, Jake all dressed in suits, looking rather smart for their young age.

"Why the long face, King?" Bone asked.
"Because he's too old to party," remarked Jake as he leaned his arm around Bone.
King glared at the boy. "Not one day back and you already have a death wish," he chided.
"You boys better behave tonight," Klaus stepped in front of them, "I don't want any pranks or mischief." The five boys straightened and promised to be on their best behaviour.
"Shouldn't King promise as well," said Leo with a chuckle.
King stepped beside the boys and faced his mate. "I solemnly swear that I will be on my best behaviour," he baited with a smart smile.
"He's such a liar," remarked Bone.
"You think becoming a father would straighten him out," added Leo as he shook his head.
King raked his hair. "I just can't wait to teach my son everything I know," he jested.
"You do not get to ruin my godchild," Bone rebuked.
"Let's all calm down," Klaus stepped in. "You five, go eat something now because I won't let you get up mid-ceremony."
The five left with just as much commotion as they came. King and Klaus followed Bone down the hall to the separate room for the bride and groom. As King and Bone went into the groom's room, Klaus quickly went to check on the girls to make sure they had everything they needed.
He just opened the door when he slammed into something, it was Viola.
"Ow!" she yelped. "Klaus! You slammed the door on my ass!"
"Viola," he saw her toppled over with her shoe in her hand. "Who puts on a shoe in front of the door?"
"Our favourite idiot," Azura remarked with a chuckle.
Viola growled at her. "Don't make me take this dress off and hurt you," she threatened.
"No fighting," Klaus stepped between them. "Where's Zoya anyway?"
"She's putting her gown on in the next room with her team helping her," said Azura.
Viola finally straightened out after putting on her silver heels to match her long sequin gown, it matched tonight's winter theme wonderfully. Her long blonde hair had been pulled back and clipped showing her long earrings and matching diamond necklace. Unlike her, Azura sat lounged on the couch in a black velvet suit that was fitted to her regal beauty and physique. She had jelled her hair back from her face and smoked out her silver eyes with black makeup.
"You two clean up nice," Klaus said.
Viola pushed her hair back. "Of course, we do," she gloated and grinned with Azura.
Sabrina walked into the room. "How is everyone done so fast?" she astounded as she was putting on her earring.
"That's because we're not supermodels obsessed with perfection," said Azura.
Sabrina rolled her eyes. She finally secured her diamond earring and presented herself. "How do I look?" she asked, as she stood in a luscious pale blue gown that glistened like rich silk. The gown fitted to her curves and draped effortlessly like water; it was simple but gorgeous on her.
"Perfect," all three of them said.
"Guys, I need help," Hailey appeared with three pairs of heels in her hands. "Which on do I wear?"
"The black, it's classic" said Sabrina.
"The silver, it's a lot more fun," Viola said.
"Red, it's the sexiest with black," suggested Azura.
Hailey looked stumped and stared at Klaus. "Help," she pouted.
"Well, you're wearing black, which one do you think goes? he asked her.

Hailey looked down at her black frock that she adorned, which was why she was struggling for her shoes. She didn't know which one to choose when all three of them looked beautiful with the dress.
"Let me go ask Hunter," she said and walked out of the room.
"And let me go check on our bride," said Sabrina as she walked into the room adjacent to this one. Klaus left to check on the groom.
Sabrina had just opened the door when her mouth dropped open as she laid her eyes on the gown Zoya had on finally. Her entire team was busy in the room getting her dressed. Zoya stood in the middle with her luscious gown that was designed and made by her.
"Zoya, you look gorgeous," Sabrina astonished.
Zoya turned at her voice, her regal blue eyes beamed like the full moon that was rising to commemorate tonight's ritual. She stood tall and proud, her white dress was decorated with hand-made flowers that scattered all over the bodice and the skirt that was thick and bounced; it shifted with her every move. Abigail was beside her making sure that every detail was perfect as well.
"Hailey was right, your hair up makes it perfect," said Sabrina.
The other girls joined squealing at the sight of her. Zoya had already gotten her hair done and makeup. She just needed to control her nerves before she combusted right in the middle of all the chaos.
She never would have thought after seeing so many weddings and being part of them that one day she'd see her own. She thought she would breeze through it, but when she woke up this morning, she had never panicked like that in her entire life. This was surreal and she couldn't believe that the day she was going to marry River had come so soon.
"I hear commotion," Azura said. "I think everyone's here."
The door to Zoya's room opened. Ashley, Rosalie and Evangeline all ran inside screaming with joy. They were all dressed in the gowns gifted from Zoya.
Ashley stood in tall heels that matched her crimson red gown that was corseted to her waist and the skirt flared above her knees. She had left her hair open in long curls with a glittery headband to complete her look.
"You look absolutely gorgeous!" Ashley yelled as she ran to her.
Zoya hugged her back with just as much enthusiasm. "You do too," she said.
"All thanks to you," she winked at her.
"Champagne everyone," Azura asked.
"Yes, please," Ashley went and grabbed a glass.
"Congratulations, Zoya," Rosalie came up and hugged Zoya. "I'm so happy for you."
"Thank you so much," she said.
Rosalie looked stunning in a creamy beige dress that fit to her curves, it was off the shoulders and long enough to reach her calves. She wore glittery gold heels and that matched her jewelry. Her chestnut brown hair tied up in a loose chignon and effortlessly contoured her pretty face.
"How are you feeling?" Evangeline asked.
"Nervous," she answered truthfully.
"That's expected," she said. "But don't worry, you're doing great. Just enjoy every moment." Evangeline hugged her too. She had chosen a forest-green dress that glimmered from any angle, it melted on her body and flowed with the multiple layers of mesh as the skirt.
Zoya grabbed that champagne now and downed it in one shot.
As the commotion of the girls behind her grew, she turned and faced the long mirror. She faced the woman she had become now. The bruises and the wounds that her family inflicted on her had vanished, it was like it never happened. The pain was distant, the memories faded that she barely recalled the events with detail. She thanked River for that though. He had filled her with love that she never spent another second thinking of what happened.
Since that night, she had made many decisions. After inheriting her father's empire, she made sure to erase them. Joe and Ellen Knightley didn't get a burial or grave. Zoya didn't want anyone to remember them or go to seek them after death either. She had paid off every news channel to keep their silence about it as well. Those two worked all their lives worried about their legacy and now Zoya had eradicated it. They lived in no memory and it was as if they never existed. How's that for revenge? she jested like the devil for destroying their dreams.
"I'm curious, how did River propose?" Ashley asked.
Zoya smiled instantly when that question came up.
"It's a story none of us believe," said Viola.
"It's an impossible story," agreed Azura.
Zoya could understand why it was so unbelievable, she barely believed it herself when it happened to her. She was talking to the girls randomly one night about how she'd like her proposal to go. Red roses scattered everywhere with candles illuminating the room and after the proposal they'd have lots of hot sex all night. But she never expected that River would have heard her. He copied each detail that she recited that night and she fell in love all over again.
"Oh, come on, tell me," Ashley urged.
"River decorated the house with rose petals and candles and asked me to marry him," Zoya told her.
"See," said Azura. "That's impossible."
The girls laughed.
"And then?" Ashley asked.
"And then we had dinner," said Zoya.
The girls shared a knowing look.
"Okay, that might be a lie," said Zoya with a blush on her face.
"Where are you thinking of spending your honeymoon?" asked Evangeline.
"I'm taking River to my house in Greece," she said. "I'll show him where I lived most my life."
"Trust me, you'll probably never leave the house," said Evangeline. "That was me with Zachariah. We only left to eat and that ended quick too."
Zoya knew that and looked forward to it. "That's why I'm taking him to my private property where I can lock him up," she said slyly making the girls laugh.
While the girls enjoyed their time talking as Zoya finished getting ready, the groom was in the other room on the other side of the hallway...
River stood on the balcony overlooking the pack decorating the large field for the wedding ceremony. He had finished getting dressed in the black tuxedo Zoya made for him. The suit was perfect and he'd never thought that he'd get sentimental about clothing, but this suit was special since it was from her. She had chosen to make it all black, even his shirt and vest. He didn't mind, it was more his style.
"Don't you look nice," remarked King as he sauntered inside with Bone.
River looked back at them from the balcony. "Thanks," he said.
"What did I say, cool as ice," King remarked. "I knew you wouldn't be nervous."
"Is there a reason to be nervous?" he retorted.
"No, not when you're in love," King smiled.
"I'm surprised it's quiet," said Bone.
The commotion broke the silence right then and there.
"Damn, you jinxed it," King remarked as he moved out of the way for the massive group running into the room.
"River!" Vincent stormed inside dressed in a navy-blue velvet suit. "You look perfect!"
"Thanks," he said before Vincent slammed into him for a hug. "You look good too."
"Good?" he pulled back with shock on his face. "I look bloody fantastic!"
Ryder, Hunter, and Lupin joined them too. They were both walking in with champagne bottles and glasses.
"Nervous, brother? This will help," Ryder asked as he passed him a glass half full.
"I'm not nervous," said River as he downed the drink.
"That's good," said Ryder. "I think I'm nervous enough for both of us."
"What the hell are you going to do on your wedding day?" Hunter asked him.
Ryder choked on his champagne.
That was when the door opened again and Gabriel appeared with the alpha of the Iron Blood pack. Isaiah Iron arrived dressed in a dark red suit and his dark hair raked back revealing his grey eyes. The man was a force of power, his tattoos exposed under the dark suit and his height matched that of Gabriel who was in his black tuxedo looking like the perfect gentleman.
"Congratulations, River," Isaiah said politely.
"Thanks," he said.
"Where's everyone?" Vincent asked.
"Don't ask," King groaned. "They're crazy and I can't deal with them-"
"Shut the hell up, King," Marcello appeared then standing tall in a grey suit that matched Zeiden. Both of them were tall, handsome and made quite the mated pair.
Dr. Kim walked inside with them too. "Congrats on the wedding," he greeted River.
"Thank you," River smiled at the doctor.
Justin stood tall and broad, not dressed in his usual blue scrubs from work. He looked quite handsome in black trousers and a linen white shirt, leaving the buttons open at the top. Through it, they all saw the dark tattoos peeking through the shirt.
"Ugh," King rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
Marcello glared at him as he walked in and went to River to congratulate him.
"Can you two go one night without fighting?" Gabriel said.
"Leave them be, I've learned that they like it," Isaiah remarked.
"Marcello, play nice," Zeiden said to his mate.
"I can't help it," Marcello remarked as he looked at King. "He annoys me."
"Finally, we can agree on something," King said.
"I'm so glad that you two aren't in the same pack," said Ryder.
"We agree, only one diva's enough for us," another voice drew their eyes on the door, it was Ronin and the beta of the Iron Blood pack. Ronin wore a black tuxedo looking rather dashing and he always had a cool demeanour to him that allowed him to befriend anyone he met.
Lazarus, on the other hand, walked in looking rather dangerous in his black suit, he ditched the tie and let his shirt open at the collar exposing his tattoos. His blond hair sat around his shoulders and his beard longer than before but maintained to chisel his jaw perfectly.
"I know he's not calling me a diva," Marcello grumbled.
Zeiden chuckled at his mate and so did everyone else. Adrik was last to join them as it was obvious because he was walking with his daughter Vivian. The doll-like child who stood in a flowery white frock held Adrik's hand and radiated absolute beauty for her young age. Adrik stood powerfully in his dark royal-blue suit and his hair raked back, but the scar across his eye still held that sinister danger that was unmatched.
"Hold on, where's your daughter?" Gabriel asked Isaiah.
"She should be-"
"Dad!" A scream surprised them all.

The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
