《For My Eyes ONLY》thirty

"HELP!"
I mentally cursed my legs for not running fast enough, as Marco yanks the tail of my shirt pulling me back to his betraying form.
"Madi wait oka-"
I cut him off with a swift kick to the stomach taking a run for again.
"HELP! FUCKING AYE! ANYBODY HEEEELP!"
This time I was abruptly cut off, as Marco plowed into my side knocking me into the rough gravel parking lot I hadn't even escaped.
He quickly climbed over me pinning my hands down with one hand, the other hand clapping over my mouth. A deranged look crossed over his eyes and I began to wonder what he planned to do with me pinned down anyway.
Probably for the sake of his own mini plan to kidnap me and me ruining that plan by manically sprinting while screeching for help.
For the first time in my life, I realized how every decision I made effected me in the ways they did because of my naive tendancies. Every mess in my life held a blinking red sign that pointed to me.
"Listen Madison! I'm sorry okay, this is all part of a bigger plan. There is more then you know to this!" he boomed, slowly loosening his tight grip on my wrists.
"Oso only believes I'd betray my brother." His voice played over and over in my head, calm and collected.
Too calm and collected while the gunshots and weeps could be heard merely feet away from inside. Slowly his other hand lifted off of my mouth and I decided I wouldn't scream for help again.
There isn't any point
no one is coming
you are a soulless bitch, there is no hope for you?
"Come on Madi.. Be a good girl," He licked his lips, "I'm gonna let you up now."
His voice raised an octave, and I nodded timidly as we began to get up.
Walking towards the door of the conquered club, two things ran through my mind.
Believe him, or believe him not, believe him, or believe him not, belie—
You get it.
"Alright I'm going to give you the keys to my car. You get out of here, take highway fifty-" Before I could let him finish that order, I took it upon my self to pick up a 2 by 4 conveniently leaned against the building and swung it smack into the back of his head. With a thud, Marco's body slumped to the concrete.

Jumping slightly from the thud his head made, I took a few deep breaths and smoothed the wrinkles through my shirt, with a few strokes.
We're doing this,
I convinced myself, before pushing open the door I'd just been dragged out of.
The familiar reek of blood immediately rushed to my nostrils and the scene in front of me, made me weak to my knees.
Blood,
Everywhere.
I sucked in all the air in the room and sputtered on it as my eyes forcibly took in the whole scene awaiting me.
It splattered the walls and the floors, some places it was just smeared. Every piece of furniture high and low seemed to have been dipped in a coat of it. Almost every person who step foot in the club earlier, lay lifeless on the ground. I searched the room, my eyes only meeting those of the dead.
I let out a scream I didn't realize had been suffocating me as I feel hopelessly to my knees. I knew there was one survivor in this battle, and he had demolished everyone in his path except me.
Everyone was dead.
"Oh my god.."
I scrambled my hands around each person I crawled into contact with, searching for a way to revive.
"No, no, no, no, no,"
Opening and shutting my eyes, the reality of the situation sank deeper and deeper into my pit, leaving me in a pile of unsalvageable sobs.
I began crawling more quickly, through the puddles of blood, searching for Ashton. Distancing from the culprit.
Not able to find my balance, more frustrated sobs pushed themselves to the surface of my mind, shattering any chance of survival.
A strong, bellowing laugh made me stop in my tracks and my arms give out to the floor. I kept my face hidden in between several corpse although my manic sobs never ceased.
"You missed all the fun, love! Fortunately for you, your piccolo boyfriend did too!"
I stood up, slowly gaining my balance and swaying lightly on my feet. Leaning over the nearest table, sat Oso day drinking merrily.
At his feet lay Ashton, unconscious. I studied the way his breath came out in ragged puffs, but praised the steady rising and falling of his chest.

My breathing began to decrease as I, covered my gaping mouth.
He was going to kill him right here and it was my fault.
I squeezed my eyes shut tightly, moving my hands to tug at my my hair.
Dear God, I hope I'm at least next
I had no business here in the first place. If I had only listened to Ashton none of this, would have happened. He only wanted the best for me..
but was that even true?
Oso simply laughed louder mockingly, starting a bubbling anger in my veins. I watched as he threw down his third shot since I'd been standing there. My eyes secretly scanned the room for any more of his 'members', but they only stood patiently waiting.
For WHAT? GET THIS FUCKING OVER WITH!
I wanted to scream out to them, lurking in the shadows. But the brave girl that once embodied me now hid deep away in a place I wasn't sure I'd find her again,
so I'd just have imitate her I imagine.
Inhaling shakily, I popped open my eyes to find Oso staring at me intently. He licked his lips in a slow circle, causing my eyes to steal a quick glance back to Ashton.
Not quick enough to miss the fact his eyes were now wide open.
I looked back to Oso's eyes, relief crashing through me in heavy waves. I noticed out of the corner of my eye, Ashton subtly gesturing towards something.
"Here are the circumstances, zoccula."
Jumping lightly from Oso's booming voice, I decided to not blow Ashton's cover and do at least one right thing tonight.
"You come with me, he lives.
You don't, I kill him then you."
My heart plummeted to the depths of my stomach.
I open and shut my mouth a few times finding it hard to reach a single word to say.
I noticed Ashton again, from the corner of my eye gesturing smoothly to me.
Looking back to Oso, I realized he was waiting for a reply.
"And where would you be taking me?"
I asked quietly, training my eyes to the ground. Just as I had hoped Oso began laughing, throwing his head back giving me a split second to pan my eyes back to Ashton.
My body went cold.
A gun.
Ashton wanted me to shoot Oso.
And the truth was,
I was going to do it.
The girl who had never seen a gun before Scar was going to be forced to use one. A shiver ran uncontrollably down my spine and
I almost let out a similar laugh to Oso's.
almost
Training my eyes back on Oso I let a sickly sweet flirt mode take over my demeanor, although I felt as if I a spectator; viewing my own actions from the outside.
"Wherever I need to. The truth is babygirl," He snarled like I'd imagine a beast would, "When you walk out of that building with me, I Own You."
Okay, so I suck at demeanors and sticking to them, but how do you be sickly sweet flirt to that, terrifying being? It was as if everything he said was creepier than the last.
Ashton's plan was more..
practical.
Is what I told myself as I dove through various cold bodies, reaching the gun. My heart pumped vigorously as my finger tips brushed over the cold medal.
I snatched that gun right off one of Oso's men's torso.
No thought went behind my next action, as I raised the gun, cocked it and aimed toward the snarling beast.
I shot Oso.
And as Marco came barreling through the door in perfect time, I aimed the gun to shoot him too.
"DON'T SHOOT!"
The brothers rang out in unison as the barrel clicked twice, indicating it had been cocked again.

Summary: A spell of arctic weather. A mysterious death. The reading of a will. Strange tracks in the snow. Eleven-year-old Danny Hallow accepts his life, such as it is. His father is dead, his mother left years ago. His three Keepers are the only people aware of Danny's erratic and not-very-impressive psychic abilities. He has no friends, he's been suspended from school, and he's responsible for the life of a small brown bat that's ended up in his care. When Danny's estranged Uncle Enoch dies under mysterious circumstances, he and his Keepers are called to the town of Eddystone, New Hampshire for the reading of the man's will. Traveling four hundred miles from his dreaded hometown to attend, Danny is happy to get away, possibly inherit something interesting- and maybe find out more about his family while he's there. Arriving at the crumbling family estate of Gnomewood Home, he finds it to be hauntingly familiar, a bit creepy, oddly comforting, and possibly alive. When his uncle's will reveals that he's inherited Gnomewood and everything in it, he's determined to stay and make a happier life for himself in Eddystone, somehow. But at Gnomewood, he finds more questions than answers to his family's secrets. Disturbing old memories come to him in dreams. His psychic abilities begin to grow stronger, and as a result he becomes aware that a horde of cryptic creatures are plaguing the town of Eddystone, seemingly drawn out by the spell of an unusually frigid February. Toothy little goblins that are sneaky, vicious, and hungry. Goblins that take a particular interest in Danny. Will the emergence of the alien, and potentially dangerous, power he's inherited from his peculiar family tree help Danny survive the goblin infested winter, inadvisable attempts to befriend a terrifying boy with silver eyes, and a new school? Only if he learns to control them before they put him and everyone around him in danger. Before they convince some people that he should never have been allowed to exist at all. Before he becomes just another twisted tale in his family's bizarre history, kept hidden for centuries within the ivy-covered walls of Gnomewood Home.
