《IPWTVC[COMPLETED]》🌸 Chapter 147 - 148 🌸

After Lu Beichuan left the hospital room, he walked into an unoccupied lounge and made a call.
"Two things. First, check the hospital's cameras and see who left a gift at the nurses' station. Second, investigate where Lin Zhan has been recently, what he's been doing, and anyone that he's been in contact with. Don't leave out any details!"
He only had to issue his order, and there was naturally someone to carry out his bidding.
He ended the call. Thinking of how he let off Lin Zhan in the airport, he found it laughably absurd now.
In the past year, Lu Beichuan had questioned why he had let off Lin Zhan. He knew better than anyone else that it was best to nip the problem in the bud. He understood very well that he and Lin Zhan were the same kind of people. As long as there was the slightest chance to grasp an opportunity, even if it was only a straw, they would both do their best to seize it.
People like them were very scary. A moment of carelessness, and Lin Zhan would climb up to become his rival.
The combination of him showing compassion back then and this period of carelessness had given a loophole for Lin Zhan to exploit!
Lu Beichuan took a deep breath. Many possible paths to take clearly appeared in his mind. He had plenty of ways to make Lin Zhan disappear without a trace. Lin Zhan hadn't fully matured to power yet. He only had to move his fingers a little bit and Lin Zhan would be gone from this world.
Lu Beichuan looked at the row upon row of tall buildings in the distance. He had a role to play with the prosperity of these cement buildings.
He had finally taken over control of the Lu family. That hadn't been easy. He had also racked his brains to obtain Ye Zhen. He wouldn't give Lin Zhan any opportunities to avail himself to the Lu’s or to Ye Zhen.
As long as he was willing to go through with it, Lin Zhan wouldn't stand a chance.
It would be so easy to get rid of Lin Zhan.
But...
-- "Absolutely don't do anything that's illegal. Don't think that you can do whatever you want just because you're very powerful. No matter how powerful you are, you can't escape from being punished by the law!"

-- "Once you have a child in the future, you have to raise him properly. You're the child's father. You have to serve as a role model and walk him down the right path!"
The words that Ye Zhen had said to him remained fresh in his memory. He had also promised Ye Zhen that he wouldn't do anything illegal. In addition, now that they had a child together, he had to serve as a role model for their child.
Why was he tempted to go back to those dishonest practices that he had abandoned because of his promise to Ye Zhen?
For a long time, Lu Beichuan didn't move. He just stood there and silently contemplated.
It was twilight when the door to the lounge was suddenly pushed open. It was Mother Lu. She was still holding the baby.
"Why are you here? I've been looking for you for a long time."
Lu Beichuan stiffly turned around. "Do you need something?"
Mother Lu scolded him, "Zhenzhen asked me to look for you. You're already a father, but you're not acting like one. Have you even held the baby once after he was born?"
The little baby was quietly sleeping inside the swaddle bundle. From time to time, he would smack his lips.
Mother Lu passed the baby to Lu Beichuan. "Here, hold your baby."
There was a flash of panic on Lu Beichuan's face. He quickly accepted the baby.
He could hardly feel any weight in the small bundle. As he carefully supported the baby in his arms, it felt as if his palms were burning from the heat of the swaddled bundle.
Suddenly, the baby woke up and seemed to look at Lu Beichuan with his squinted eyes.
Father and son looked at each other. The sharpness and heartlessness immediately disappeared from Lu Beichuan's eyes. He tenderly looked at this newborn baby. This baby shared the same blood as him. He smiled.
The baby followed his father in smiling too.
Seeing such a heartwarming scene, Mother Lu also smiled.
"Alright, Old Master is awake too. He's in Ye Zhen's hospital room and doesn't look like he wants to go home. Go over there to persuade him later. At his age, staying at the hospital is just torture for his body. His old body can't take it."

While coaxing the baby, Lu Beichuan replied, "Don't worry. I will."
When they returned to Ye Zhen's hospital room, Old Master Lu had already been chatting with Ye Zhen for a while. As soon as he saw Lu Beichuan carrying the baby into the room, he rushed to say, "Come, come, come, let me hug my little great-grandson."
The old man was tired by the long day. It even looked as if there were more strands of white hair on his head.
Lu Beichuan handed the baby to his grandfather.
The more the old man looked at his great-grandson, the more he liked him. The old man’s smile was so big that he couldn't keep his mouth closed.
"My little great-grandson looks so handsome! He's sure to be even more powerful than his father in the future!"
Mother Lu smiled and said, "Dad, you've seen your great-grandson and held him too now. You should go back home and get some rest."
On the side, the old butler chimed in to support Mother Lu, "Exactly! Your health is important. You have to take care of your health. Little Young Master will need plenty of care and looking after in the future."
Ye Zhen took another look at Lu Beichuan. Seeing that he didn't look any different from usual, she finally put down her worries. Smiling, she persuaded Old Master Lu too, "Yeah. Grandpa, you should go home. I'll be home too in a few days. When that time comes, you can see the baby every day at home."
Old Master Lu's gaze had been stuck on the baby the entire time. He didn't pay heed to other people’s good intentions and grumbled, "I knew it. You guys are looking down on me for my old age and want me to go back so that I'm not here bothering all of you."
For lack of a better option, Mother Lu could only say, "Dad, how can you say that? We don't find you bothersome at all. We're just concerned about your health."
Old Master Lu was getting old, and his health was getting worse each day. He had tired himself for a day, and his family members were worried that this would harm his health, but the old man was very stubborn and insisted on staying here to watch after his great-grandson.
In a low voice, Lu Beichuan persuaded, "Grandpa, go back home. I'll bring Zhenzhen and the baby home in a few days. If you really want to see the baby, you can have the chauffeur drive you to the hospital. We're truly worried about the effects on your health if you stay at the hospital to keep watch."
After the round of persuasion, Old Master Lu didn't keep insisting. He was clear about his own health. After keeping vigil since last night, Old Master Lu felt exhausted.
"Fine, I'll go back. I won't stay here to bother you."
After saying that, he seemed to have thought of something else.
"Oh right, Zhenzhen ah, I thought of a name for the baby. Would you like to hear it to see if it's okay?"
Ye Zhen thought of the baby's name in the novel. Smiling, she agreed, "Tell me."
Old Master Lu kindly looked at Ye Zhen. “Zhifei, as in zhi shan e, ming shifei, shi lianchi. What do you think?”
Zhi shan e, ming shifei. That was exactly what Ye Zhen hoped for.
(T/N: zhi shan e, ming shifei, shi lianchi means know good and evil, know right and wrong, and know honor and shame.)
She wouldn't ask that for her child to be rich his entire life. She only hoped that he could have a peaceful life and a clear conscience.
"Of course the name chosen by grandpa would be good. Okay, let's call him Zhifei."
Holding the baby, Old Master Lu softly teased him, "Did you hear that? Your name is Zhifei."
Little Zhifei responded by spitting out a bubble, causing everyone in the room to laugh.
"His formal name has been decided... Zhenzhen, you should pick his nickname."
"Nickname..." Ye Zhen carefully thought. Knowing that the Old Master Lu valued frugality, she suggested, "Let's call him Zhouzhou."
(T/N: The zhou that Ye Zhen is using means congee.)
Sure enough, Old Master Lu's smile deepened. "We must consider the toil behind each bowl of rice and congee.* Okay, let's call him Zhouzhou!"
* (T/N: This is an old Chinese proverb.)

Ravyn's Nights - Book 2
Claire's life led her to love. Love led her to death. Death began her eternal struggle to retain both her love and her humanity through 5 centuries of endless nights. Book 2 covers the 18th century. "Ravyn's Nights" is a six book series, with each book covering a different century. Book 6 was actually started first, and it takes place in the near future, bringing the story to a final conclusion. I then started writing the rest of the series when I decided that I wanted to share the details of the life that made her into who she is in Book 6. At the time of posting the first chapter of the series, books 1-2-3 are completed and books four, five and six are in various states of completion. There is currently a novella following a side character that does include a few crossover chapters featuring the main character. The novella will be included in the completed versions of books 4 and 5.

8 199Making a difference
Harry Potter FanFiction: Hannah Longbottom liked to watch the people who entered the Wizarding World via the small, walled courtyard behind the Leaky Cauldron for a reason: During her not so long life, she had learned about three different boys who had entered the Wizarding World alone, leaving behind a life so horrible she could barely imagine. One of them, who became a friend of hers, had gone through great hardships to become a hero, one of the greatest wizards the Wizarding World had ever seen. One of them, who had been her teacher, had become cold and bitter, and no one had ever recognized what amazing talents he could have offered, until it had been too late. One of them, the monster she had helped to fight during the Battle of Hogwarts, had become the most dreaded, most dangerous, and most deadly man Great Britain had ever seen, and yet it could have all been different, if someone had just tried to make that difference early enough in that life, if he had not boarded the train to Hogwarts all alone. Already posted at Devianart and AO3, I've included a link to RoyalRoad on my profiles there.
