Rick and I had killed Dave and Tony. We knew they weren't going to just give up. "Holy shit." Glenn said, looking at the body of Tony.

"You good?" Rick asked him.

"Yeah." Glenn said nodding.

"Hershel?" Rick asked but he didn't answer.

"Raven." He said looking over at me.

"I'm fine Rick." I said pulling my hair into a messy bun.

"Let's head back." Hershel finally said. We all nodded in agreement and I went to the window to look out for walkers or the rest of their buddies. Rick was going through the dead man's pockets looking for ammo and other useful things. I heard the roar of a car engine and ducked down.

"Car. Car." I said loud enough for the guys to hear as they all came by my side. We all had our backs against the door and right under the windows. I looked over at Rick as I saw the headlights of a car pull up in front of the bar. We were all frozen as we heard the car turn off and doors open and close.

"Dave? Tony? They said over here." I heard a man say walking up to the bar doors.

"Yeah." Someone answered and then a younger voice spoke.

"I'm telling you, man, I heard shots." "I saw roamers two streets over. Might be more around here." I started to loose track of how many voices there where since they all sounded the fucking same.

"It's hot. We gotta get out of here."

"Dave! Tony!" Someone yelled and another man got mad.

"Shut up, you idiot! You wanna attract 'em? Just stick close. We're gonna find 'em." I could hear the footsteps on the porch of the bar.

"Dude, he said to stay close." One of the guys said and I could hear footsteps retreating. I could hear men whisper yelling for Tony. Rick and I sat right in front of the doors, guns drawn. I looked over at him and his blue eyes seemed more blue as the moon light reflected off a broken mirror and showed on his face. I shook my head lightly remembering the task at hand.

We sat there in silence for a bit. Rick looked at me and motioned to the windows on either side of the doors I nodded knowing what he was talking about. We both got up swiftly and leaned over looking out the windows. As I peered out into the night I couldn't see anyone. I got back down and so did Rick. We gathered in a small circle to figure out a plan on getting out of here.

"Why won't they leave?" Glenn whispered.

"Would you?" Hershel said.

"We can't sit here any longer. Let's head out the back and make a run to the car." Rick said and we all nodded in agreement. We got up and started to head to the back door when we heard gunshots. We all fell back into our spots with our backs pressed against the foundation of the building.

"What happened?" A man said right outside a window both Rick and I could see them but they couldn't see us.

"Roamers, I nailed 'em." One said as another man ran up to the other two.

"They disappeared but their car's still there."

"I cleared those buildings. You guys get this one?"

"No."

"Me either." The men came up onto the bar steps and I looked over at Rick with a slight fear in my eyes.

"We're looking for Dave and Tony and no one checks the damn bar?" One guy said as Rick and I cock our guns and the door opened up. I quickly slammed my back against it digging my heels into the wood floor as an anchor.

"What?"

"Someone pushed it shut. There's someone in there." The men outside said. I cocked my gun read for a fight and I looked over and Glenn and Hershel and then over at Rick.

"Shit." I whispered.

"Yo, is someone in there? Yo, if someone's in there, we don't want no trouble. We're just looking for our friends." One man said now knowing where we are.

"What do we do?"

"Bum Rush the door?"

"No, we don't know how many are there. Just relax." The men argued outside.

"We don't want any trouble. We're just looking for our friends. If something happened, tell us. This place is crawling with corpses. If you can help us not get killed, I'd appreciate it." I looked over at the dead men on the floor in front of us. I could see Rick out of the corner of my eye. He was trying to figure something out. I placed my hand on his shoulder and he looked at me. I could tell he was searching for something in my eyes, like some sort of reassurance. I took a deep breath and mouthed the words You got this, I love you and it seemed to be just what Rick needed. He mouthed back a thank you.

"Dude, you're bugging. I'm telling you nobody's in there." Someone said outside.

"Someone guard the door. If they're in there, they might know where Dave and Tony are." They said and then we heard footsteps leave the door.

"They drew on us!" Rick yelled out to the men hoping it would spear our lives. I dropped my head. Hershel I could tell was now disappointed in Rick. The footsteps came back right to the front door and I could feel the vibrations through my spine.

"Dave and Tony in there? They alive?" The man asked and I looked at Rick with worry in my eyes shaking my head for him not to respond.

"No." Rick said and I took a deep breath and pulled my gun up ready to shoot.

"They killed Dave and Tony."

"Come on, man, let's go."

"No, I'm not leaving, I'm not telling Jane. I'm not gonna go back and tell them that Dave and Tony got shot by some assholes in a bar." We all sat and listened to them.

"Your friends drew on us! They gave us no choice! I'm sure we've all lost enough people, done things we wish we didn't have to, but it's like that now. You know that! So let's just chalk this up to what it was... wrong place,wrong..." Rick yelled back to the men outside and he was cut off by a bullet breaking the glass right between Rick and I. Rick and I jumped up, firing shots out the broken glass at the men that stood there.

"Get outta here! Go!" Rick yelled at Glenn and Hershel. When he noticed that I hadn't moved he yelled at me.

"Raven! Go!."

"No Rick, you're the one with a kid and family you go." I said firing another shot almost hitting some guy in the leg. I ducked down and so did Rick as the men littered the bar with bullets.

Across the bar I could see Hershel and Glenn hiding behind some furniture. Rick emptied his gun and reloaded it. "Hey! We all know this is not gonna end well! There's nothing in it for any of us! You guys just...just back off, no one else gets hurt!" Rick yelled as he finished loading his gun. We all heard bottles rattle in the back of the bar and Glenn looked at Rick and Rick nodded for him to go with Hershel to check it out. Glenn got up and ran to the back with Hershel. Leaving Rick and I to man the front of the bar.

"Rick. We need to get out of here." I whispered.

"I know. I'm working on it. I won't let anything happen to you." He said and then we heard bullets.

"Glenn!" Rick yelled getting up and I followed him.

"Glenn!" I yelled now worried about the little pizza boy.

"I...I'm alright. I'm alright." Glenn said and Rick and I stayed in the front keeping our eyes out. Rick was on the other side of the wall with Hershel.

"Raven and I'll hold 'em here. You cover Glenn. See if he can make it to your car. Tell him to pull it up back. We'll run for it, get the hell out of here." I heard Rick tell Hershel.

"You want me to cover Glenn?" Hershel asked Rick to make sure he heard him right.

"You missed all that gun training. It could've come in handy now." Rick said to Hershel.

"Nah, I can shoot. Just don't like to." Hershel said and this caused me to snicker.

"Rick." I whispered. He looked over at me and I pointed over to a window where I saw a shadow figure. Then we heard gunshots and the figure went down. Rick and I ran to the back.

"What happened?" Rick asked.

"He fired. He must've hit Glenn. He's behind the dumpster. Doesn't look like he's moving." Hershel said. I leaned over Rick's shoulder and I could see Glenn's sneakers behind the dumpster. And then we heard the man that Hershel shot calling out for help.

"Rick covers me. I'm gonna go get Glenn." I said pushing past the two men.

"Raven." Rick said as I walked out following the wall.

"Glenn!" I whispered.

"You hit?" I asked again with my back pressed against the wall. I kept walking.

"Damnit Glenn. Are you hit!?" I said again kinda irritated at the fact that he wasn't listening.

"No. No." I finally heard Glenn's stupid voice say. A wave of relief washed over me. I ducked down and my back slammed against the can.

"Hey, it's okay. The car's right there." I said leaning over looking over the side of the can.

"We're almost home." I said looking back at a petrified Glenn. I could tell from the look in his eyes he wanted to just go home and didn't even want to be there in the first place.

"You good?" I asked him.

"I'm good." He said back, his voice shaking.

"Okay let's go." I said and we got up and as soon as we hit the corner of the building we were hit with bullets.

"Get back." I said just in time each of the bullets whizzed by us missing the both of us. I looked over at the Pharmacy as a silver truck pulled up and stopped.

"Let's get out of here! Roamers all over the place! Hurry up! We gotta get out of here!" The man in the truck yelled at a boy on the roof.

"What about Sean?"

"They shot him. We gotta go, Roamers are everywhere."

"We're leaving?"

"Jump!"

"Hurry up! Jump already!" The men yelled to each other as the boy jumped from one roof to another he missed, fell. All we could hear was a fence rattle and then screams. The truck drove away leaving the boy there as he screamed for help.

"Get Rick and Hershel." I said as I got up and ran over to the boy despite Glenn yelling at me not too.

"Raven!" I heard Hershel yell and him and the other two were right next to me.

"We have to go now." He said as I was trying to figure out how to get this poor kid off the fence.

"No!" He cried out and I looked at him.

"Shut the fuck up. I ain't leaving your punk ass." I said and looked back to Hershel.

"I'm sorry son we have to go." Hershel said.

"no no, don't leave me please." He begged.

"We have to go." Hershel said.

"We can't!" I said and Rick looked at me.

"She's right." He said and I nodded a thank you to him.

"He was just shooting at us!" Glenn said.

"He's a kid!" Rick yelled at Glenn.

"Please help me." The boy cried.

"This place is crawling with walkers!" Glenn said.

"We can't leave him Glenn!" I yelled.

"The fence went clean through. There's no way we can get the leg off in one piece." Hershel said and Rick yelled at him.

"Shut up! Shut up or I will shoot you!" I rolled my eyes and took a deep breath.

"That may be the answer." Hershel said to Rick as he pulled him aside.

"Please don't leave me. God!" The boy said, crying.

"Shut up!" I said harshly gripping onto his leg he left out a small scream.

"Shit sorry. Just shut the fuck up!" I whispered.

"Hershel. Can't we just take his left off." I asked him. They all looked at me and then back at the boy.

"That hatchet still in the car?" Rick asked Glenn.

"No no, don't...don't cut my leg off, please. Please, not my leg." The kid begged.

"Will this cut through the bone?" Rick asked, pulling out a large knife.

"I'll have to sever the ligaments below the kneecap, cut about the tibia. He's going to lose his lower leg." Hershel explained and the kid just kept saying no.

"When we get clear of here, we're gonna have to find some tinder, cauterize the wound so he doesn't bleed out." Hershel said.

"All right, no choice. Hurry up." Rick said, holding down the boy with Glenn.

"Raven, hand me that stick." Hershel said and I went over and picked up the large stick he had pointed at.

"Guys, walkers." Glenn said. I pulled out my gun and turned around to see us being surrounded by walkers.

"Hurry up!" I yelled at Glenn and I started taking out walkers. But for every one we put down another 4 would show up.

"Rick could use some fucking help." I said as I noticed the walkers on the other side of him.

"God. They're everywhere." He said, pulling out his gun.

"Hershel, how are we doing over there." Rick asked.

"I need more hands!" He yelled and I rushed to his side.

"What can I do?" I asked

"Hold him down." He said and I grabbed him and held him down.

"We don't have much time! Come on, we've gotta go!" Glenn said now freaking out because we were getting surrounded by walkers and almost out of ammo. Everyone was yelling at Hershel and I took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry kid." I said and I pushed Hershel off to the side and ripped the kids leg off the fence. He let out a blood curdling scream as blood started pouring from his leg.

"Rick help me get him into the truck." I said and we both grabbed him and tossed him in the back seat of the car as he was passed the fuck out. We drove as fast as we could back to the farm keeping pressure on the wound so he wouldn't bleed out.

"Come on Rick. This kid isn't gonna last long losing this much blood at this pace." I said feeling the boy sweat in my lap.

"She's right, Rick." Hershel said, trying to stop the bleeding. The kid opened his eyes and looked up at me.

"Are you an angel?" I laughed,

"No. My name's Raven. What's yours?" I said moving some of his hair off his face.

"Ra...Randall." He said shivering and hissing as Hershel tightened the shirt that we had wrapped around his leg.

"Well Randall. Just hold on okay. We're gonna get you fixed up." I said and then he passed out again. I sighed. He was just a kid no older than 18, he didn't deserve to be left like that or even die like that. I looked up and I saw Rick staring at me through the rear view mirror.

We drove all night and got to the camp early in the morning. We pulled up just as the group was gathered around a car looking like they were ready to leave somewhere. Rick got out first and Carl ran up to him hugging him tightly. It was like a family reunion every time we left. I pulled the kid out of the car.

"Who the hell is that?" T-dog said as I was yanking the poor kid out by myself. I mean he was all dead weight.

"That's Randall." Glenn said. As everyone looked at me and the kid with a blindfold on.

"Can I get a hand." I asked and Rick came over and helped me get him inside the house so that Hershel could fix him properly. We all gathered in the kitchen. Rick was standing at the head of a large dining table that most of the group was seated at. Except me. I was standing by the door frame leaning against it.

"We couldn't just leave him behind. He would've bled out, if he lived that long." Rick explained to the group.

"It's gotten bad in town." Glenn said to everyone.

"What do we do with him?" Andrea said and then Hershel walked in.

"I repaired his calf muscle as best I can, but he'll probably have nerve damage. Won't be on his feet for at least a week." Hershel said.

"When he is, we give him a canteen, take him out to the main road, send him on his way." Rick said and Andrea cut in.

"Isn't that the same as leaving him for the walkers?" Andrea asked and something caught my eye and it was Daryl walking in the room. He had on his vest with a long sleeve shirt. His hair was kind of combed off to the side. I was brought back to the current situation by Shane being a fucking dick.

"He knows where we are." I sighed.

"He was blindfolded the whole way here. He's not a threat." I said to him crossing my arms, he was pissing me off. I knew he just wanted a reason to kill someone else.

"Not a threat. How many of them were there? You killed three of their men, you took one of them hostage, but they just ain't gonna come looking?" Shane asked.

"They left him for dead. No one is looking for him." I said walking over to the table and leaning on the table with my voice dripping with anger.

"We should still post a guard." T-dog suggested.

"He's out cold right now, will be for hours." Hershel said.

"You know what? I'm gonna go get him some flowers and candy." Shane said walking towards the door and I just scoffed.

"Look at this folks...We're back in fantasyland." Shane said walking into the living room.

"Shane, stop being an arrogant prick." I said and then Hershel went after him.

"You know, we haven't even felt what you did at my barn yet. Let me make this perfectly clear, once and for all...this is my farm. Now I wanted you gone. Rick talked me out of it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. So do us both a favor. Keep your mouth shut." Hershel said and Shane just stood there completely dumbfounded. It was the first time in a long time that I had seen Shane speechless. He got frustrated and walked out of the house.

"Look we're not doing anything about it today. Let's just cool off." Rick said to everyone, especially Hershel. Andrea followed Shane out and everyone went to do their own thing. I went to go after Daryl.

"Daryl?" I yelled at him but he kept going and Carol was right on his feet. I shook my head and just walked back to the porch of the house. I pulled out my cigarettes and I put it into my mouth taking a long drag. I was sitting on the porch and I felt like I was just watching from the outskirts. I wasn't really up for dealing with this or being alone so I got up and left heading up to the look out we had set up in the barn. I was sitting up there staring off over the farm. My head was spinning around trying to wrap my head around what my heart wants. I started to day dream about a future that I only wish I could have.

The summer sun was beating down on my face as I was standing guard of our new community. I heard a voice come over on my radio. "Raven, we got a herd heading to the gates. What should we do." It was Daryl he was our scout and helped keep the walkers under control. I pressed the button on the walkie.

"Grab Abrahams group and round them up. Take them to the cliff and lure them off." I said and let go of the button. There was static for a moment and then Daryl spoke again.

"You got it boss." He said and I smiled a little bit to myself. A younger boy about 21 climbed up the ladder. He was about 6' 3" and he had dark brown hair and was about medium build.

"Raven, you're good to go." He said holding his rifle.

"Thank James." I said and I climbed down the ladder. As I walked through our little community I looked around at all the houses. We had found this place on a run one day; It was Rick, Daryl, and I. When we got here it was a gated community the front gate was open so whatever walkers that were there had either left or got stuck in a house somewhere. It took us 2 days to clear it out. Then once we did that it took us another 3 weeks to build up the walls and make sure there was no way for anyone or any walker to get in.

Once this place was safe and secure we started to find people. Good people that we thought would make a great addition to our family. I smiled as I walked past everyone and they one by one would say hi or wave at me.

"Good morning Raven." A voice called to me.
