haneul and minho exchanged looks as jaehoon devoured the cookies sitting across from them
"wait so, you didn't kill mom, but you stalked us-"
"for the tenth time, yes" jaehoon huffed
"that's... even more confusing!" minho whined
jaehoon stood up, "I'll get going now that I've gotten that off my chest"
"yeah, thank you so much for making us panic" haneul rolled her eyes
the boy bid them goodbye and left without any other words
"one mystery solved.. but one mystery became even more mysterious. when are we ever gonna escape this hell hole of unsolved cases" minho sighed and leaned back
"i wanna die-"
"DON'T YOU DARE EVEN THINK OF IT HWANG HANEUL"
"geez, hold your horses"
haneul sighed and reached for her phone, scrolling through different apps while minho just stared at her

"do you wanna go home for a few days?"
haneul frowned, "why? is my presence disturbing you?"
"no no no! never! i just thought that you're a little bored here, and you look a bit homesick too, if you wanna go back then I'll go with you of course" minho said in a hurry, thinking that the girl had misunderstood him
"home.. i don't know to be honest"
minho let out a sigh and embraced haneul in a tight hug, patting her back and rocking back and forth
"what's up with you?" haneul chuckled
"you've been through so much, i just want to stop everything now, you've suffered enough, you didn't deserve to suffer in tge first place! I'll make sure to put an end to your hurting just to see you at peace, just don't lose hope, hannie" minho tightened his grip as he shared his concerns with his lover
at that moment haneul felt a mix of emotions. how would minho know she was having a hard time?
"your eyes say it all han" minho pulled away from the hug and made eye contact with haneul, who's eyes were open wide
"how-"
"you try to bottle up your negative emotions so that nobody notices, but your eyes tell the truth" minho leaned in
"and i am lucky enough to always find it out"
and with that, the boy placed a long peck on the flustered girl's forehead

An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale.
