"what the fuck.." haneul mumbles at the sight
haneul knew it was serious judging by hyunjin's hurried voice at school and both siblings dashed home only to find the most terrible thing that could ever happen
their own mother
surrounded by her own blood
in the middle of their living room
and police all around searching the place like there was some treasure hidden somewhere
"are you guys the children?"
the siblings stayed quiet
"nice to meet you," the person caught up, "my name is kwak aron, it seems like your mother was murdered. the neighbours heard her yelling and heard glass breaking. we're gonna work on this case as hard as we can with me, the prosecutor incharge."
hyunjin finally nods and drops down on the floor, sobbing.
seeing his mother dead in front of him was the thing he never imagined.
haneul felt a mix of emotions, anger for whoever killed her mother, sadness, for her loss and disappointment, for never being enough for her own mother.
the siblings were all alone now.
they only had eachother.
the now family of two just laid there.
different rooms, same situations.
both of them crying their eyes out.
it was 2 in the morning.
they had been crying ever since the team of officers had left, and of course, until their birth giver's corpse was taken away for an autopsy.
the prosecutor had already informed their school and the twins had 2 weeks off.
haneul wipes away her tears and stands up for some water, her throat had gotten dry.
she grabs a glass for her brother as well, thinking he'd have a dry throat too.
"here" haneul says placing the glass on hyunjin's nightstand
"han," hyunjin sits up and looks at her, "do you.. think it was the same person who texted us..?"
haneul widens her eyes, "but if it was, they should've threatened us or something right?" she says in disbelief.
"maybe.. they threatened mom.. and not us.." the brother trails off.
haneul covers her mouth in disbelief, a realization hitting her
"no. fucking. way"
she runs towards her mother's room, hyunjin following
"what's her phone password?" haneul grabs the device
"our birthday" hyunjin says, catching up to her ideas
"look," haneul shoves the phone in her twin's tear-stained face
"he threatened her.. about killing.. u-us!?"
