When we were done looking at the sky I saw Mirabel sneaking to Bruno's room.
"Hey Mirabel." I said showing up behind her.
She was not expecting me.
"Oh uh hi Y/n." She said nervous.
"You know I've heard about your mistery uncle Bruno. And I want to find out just as much as you do." I said.
Mirabel signaled me to be quite and follow her.
I smiled and nod. Casita didint moved us away.
Mirabel opened the door.
We saw a giant sand timer.
"Casita. Can you turn off the sand?" Mirabel asked.
The tiles talked by moving up and down.
"You can't help in here?" Mirabel asked.
"Well be fine." She said when the tiles went up and down.
"I need to do this. For you, for Y/n, Abuela. Maby a little for me."
"Find the vision, save the...mira...AAAHH!" Mirabel screamed when she wanted to step out the sand door.
"Uhh Mirabel?!" I asked.
She was quite for a moment.
"Yeah I'm fine! You need to jump Y/n don't make the same mistake I did." Mirabel answerd.
I wanted to walk threw until someone inturupted me.
"What are you up to?" Camilo asked and he closed the door.
"Camilo! Your not supposed to be here!" I whisperd.
"No, YOU are not supposed to be here!" Camilo argued.
"Whats taking so long Y/n! You scared?" Asked Mirabel teasing.
"We have an intruder!" I said making Camilo gasp.
"Me?! Intruder?" Camilo said.
"Oh no. Who is it?!" Mirabel said.
"Camilo!" I yelled.
"This is like totally subtile for my sister Dolores." Camilo said.
I glared at him.
"Dios mios, what does he want!" Mirabel asked.
"He wants to.... WHOA!" I yelled when Camilo pushed me threw the sand.
I rolled next to Mirabel laying down. Mirabel looked questioning at me.
Camilo landed next to me.
He dusted off his clothes and we both glared at him.
"What?! I would not want to miss this. I never have been in his room." Camilo said excited.
"Dios mios." I mumbeld and stood up.
Camilo laughes.
"What?" I said annoyed.
"You have sand in your hair." He said.
"Oh yeah you pushed me!" I said.
"Sorry! I thought it would be better if you talk to Mirabel here instead of screaming." He shrugged and I glared.
"Such a stalker." Mirabel said rolling her eyes.
"I had to know that if you come, he comes too!" She said pointing at me and then Camilo.
"Ofcourse! I need to make sure she is safe." Camilo said.
"Yeah sure safe." Mirabel said sarcastic and Camilo glared at her.
"What are we doing here anyways?" Camilo asked.

"Isin't it obvious?" I said.
"I want to know whats going on with the Magic in the house." Mirabel said.
"And I want to know if there is a way out of here." I said walking first ahead.
"What? I thought you liked it here!" Camilo said running after me.
"I do. But we have to figure out what happend to me. You promised to help me." I said turning back to him.
"I...I stil am going to help you. We both will right Mirabel?" He asked.
"Hm-hmm." Mirabel said looking at the stairs.
"Whoa." Camilo asked.
"That's alot if stairs."
"No shit sherlock." I said.
"Whats a sherlock?" He asked making me facepalm.
"Nevermind." I answerd.
A tocan landed on the stone. Three of us looked at him.
"Oh hello. Lot of stairs, but at least I have a friend." Mirabel said.
The tocan flies away.
"No. He flew away immediatly. Alright." Mirabel said to him.
"Actually I changed my mind too..." Camilo said wanting to walk away but I grabbed his ruana.
"No your involved with us so your going to climb too." I said.
"Hah." He said nervous turning into Mirabel then me and then to himself.
I looked at him questioning.
"You have not seen that." He said embarest.
"At least you have us Mirabel." I said.
Mirabel smiled.
Camilo tried to sneak away again but I grabbed his arm this time.
"Great! Lets climb those stairs!" Mirabel said.
"I regret my desicioun to follow you." Camilo said.
"You followed me?!" I said shocked.
"You looked so suspicious when you walked to Bruno's room I was curious okay!" Camilo protested.
"Just walk." I said pushing him infront of me.
"Alright, alright!" He said.
"Such a stalker." Mirabel said taking the lead.
Camilo huffs in response.
"I regret this desicioun!" He said loud and clear to let me know.
"Not my problem." I said.
"Welcome to the family Madrigal," Mirabel started humming the song.
"Oh no. Can you please stop singing." Camilo asked.
"There's so many stairs in the casa Madrigal." Mirabel sings after a few more stairs.
"YoU think there would be another way to get so high 'cause we're magic, but no."
I laughed while walking behind Camilo. We both are also just as tired as Mirabel.
"I regret my desicioun." Camilo repeats.
"Magical how many stairs fit in here!" Mirabel yelled.
"Thousand." I answerd.
"Dossens." Camilo said out of breath.
"Bruno your room is the worst!" She yelled.
Three of us arrived finally at the top, exhausted and tired crawiling to the stars like Mirabel.
Mirabel groanes.
"What?" Camilo asked.

"There's a cliff." She said.
"Were so screwd." Camilo answerd standing up.
He helped me up too.
"We can use those ropes over here. We can use it to swing to the other side." Mirabel suggested.
She swingend the rope to a rock. Making sure its secured.
"You sure this is safe?" I asked.
"Well... there is one way to find out." Mirabel said and she jumped.
She cheered when she reached the other side.
"Here take it Camilo!" She said swinging it towards him.
He took it.
"Y/n you going to be alright?" He asked when he saw me looking scared at the cliff.
"I don't know." I whisperd.
"Here, well do it together." Camilo said handing his hand towards me.
"Just hold on first." He said.
"Camilo I don't know if this is going to hold." I said worried.
"You have to trust me Y/n." He whisperd in my ear giving me shivers.
He then pushed me again.
I yelled and jumped to the other side. Mirabel catched me.
"I did it! You liar! You said we would do it together!" I said to Camillo.
He shrugges.
"Hey because of me you can do it yourself." He answerd.
"Thanks." I said blushing.
"Ugh why am I stuck with you two here!" She said throwing the rope towards him.
"Hey!" We both said together.
Camilo jumps and reached the end of the cliff. Mirabel and me both catched him.
"We did it!" Camilo said high fiving me and Mirabel.
"Whoop team work! Okay lets go inside!" She said enthousiastic.
We enterd a dark room. Something broke and me and Mirabel yelled. It was the tocan who stepped on the vace. We both exhailed but Mirabel lets another vace fall on the ground. Rats ran away and we both screamed again. I was holding tight on Camilo.
Camilo only laughes.
"What?!" I asked.
"Really you both are scared for rats?" He asked shaking his head.
"No, they starteld us! They showed up out of no where." I protested.
Soon realizing I was holding Camilo and quickly let go of him.
He only chuckeld.
Mirabel enterd the cave me and Camilo going after her.
"Empty..." Mirabel said.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Camilo said.
The door closed and I screamed holding on Camilo once again.
It was dark. I could feel Camilo's heartbeat but out of fear.
"Y/n I'm here." He said touching my arm.
Then green light lit up the room under Mirabel.
She sat on the sand and digs in to find a peace of glass.
"Whats hurting the magic?" She asked.
She pics up some peaces and places three of them together. It reveals .....
"Me." she gasped.
She saw that there was another person involved, but she could only see the arm.
"Mirabel!" I said warning her from the cracks.
She quickly tries to grab all the glass peaces. I helped her and Camilo too.
The sand washed over me when I was holding a peace.
"Y/n!!" Camilo screamed.
He digs threw the sand seeing my hand and pulled me out of it.
"Mirabel we have to go now!" Camilo said helping me up my feet. He did a hand around my waist to support me.
"One last one!" She answerd grabbing the glass and running towards us.
The sand cept getting worse.
Three of us tried to bang open the door but it was to heavy.
"I don't want to die like this!" I whined.
"Were not going to die!" Camilo said.
Camilo groaned when he pushed the door and he shapeshifted into me and then Mirabel then Felix and back to himself.
I felt that he was scared.
"Camilo...." I said touching his shoulder.
"There is a holder down there. I can reach it." Camilo said gasping for air.
"Camilo wait!" I said grabbing his cheeks.
"Before I die I want you to know that I...."
"Not the time Y/n!" Mirabel said trying to slam open the door.
"I....." I can't say it.
It would be too soon.
I looked sad at the sand.
"Just be carefull." I said while caresing his cheek.
I smiled sad.
"Guys!!!" Mirabel said.
The sand was on our necks right now.
"I will, but I have to gow under. You trust me?" Camilo asked and I nod letting him go.
"Hold in your breath." He said while touching my cheeck.
He then goes back in the sand.
"Camilo!" I screamed in panic.
"No...No...No..... Mirabel?!"
"I'm here!" She said grabbing my hands.
I cried.
"It's gonna be alright...." She said.
Suddenly a burst of sand got threw us. But the door slammed open when Camilo found the holder of the door slamming as hard as he could.
"WHOA!" Mirabel and me said together.
Mirabel almost was at the edge of the cliff and she quickly crawls back to safity.
"Camilo!" I said standing up and running to him.
He was lying down and coughed away some sand.
"Yuk sand is discusting." He said.
I gently grabbed his cheeks and laughed.
He smiled grabbing my hand in his.
"You wanted to say?" He asked teasingly and sat up.
"Nothing." I said looking at Mirabel and blushed hard.
"I'm just glad you are safe."
"I am glad your safe too." Camilo said.
I felt his strong emotions of dissapointment.
She looked at me questioning.

Comment by the author: Looking at the chapter list, you might have noticed Volume 1 is not there. The reason is that it’s in the process of being published so I’m somewhat restricted in where and how I can post it. Edit. 18/04/2017 The first volume is now officially on sale. It is no longer possible to get the first volume for free. I am sorry but it was free for a long time and it was time for it. However if you like to support me you can find th first volume here on Amazon (getBook.at/TheEverlasting) Compared to other stories on Royal Road this one is faster paced. No artificial extensions of the story by spending forever in generic constructs, like random ranking tournaments, that don’t really matter for the overall plot. That’s the plan anyway. Volumes consist roughly of 30-35k words. Additionally: I am not a native speaker, nor have I had any formal education in the English language. I am trying very hard to improve myself. If you want to help me by proofreading my story, shoot me a PM and we’ll see if we can arrange something. Other than my thanks and fake internet points I can’t offer anything, though. Yeah, poor student here… Edit 22/06/2017 Hey the story is officially ended if i ever decide to continue it will be on another date. The ending is open for anyone to use their imagination. Thank you all for the support. I hope we could meet later in the Everlasting II. Respectfully Biako

Tales of the Legendary Scholar
They meet in the most unlikely moment and turned their life around. Freidrech newly arrived in his own nation's capital city, which is so foreign to him compared to his village's idyllic and nondiscriminatory atmosphere, after he is forced to come. Now, he is facing a royal prince and tells him to bow. This draws out one of his late father's teachings from the deepest recesses in his mind. "The blood of your great ancestors runs in your veins. Don't easily bow down to anyone, or accept suppression by any being, not even from a monarch, unless you pledge your allegiance to him. Also, giving in to oppression is directly telling the oppressor that you're easy prey and open for manipulation." He is uncertain on how to face this oppression right now. Will he bows or not? What will he do to uphold his father's words while keeping his life safe? As for the prince, Theodrech has nothing to do with Freidrech, so he wishes to let this slip, but the boy opens his mouth and proposes the most ludicrous challenge he ever heard and triggers his curiosity. "I, Freidrech Goederf Gerboud, son of the late Village Chief Louvel Gerboud of Wrilon, will challenge you, Your Highness, to a battle of riddles… If you win, I will not only bow but be your servant for the rest of my life." This amuses the prince. It is the first he met a boy of the same age who is not intimidated by the air of authority he projects. Rather, this boy challenges him. "Why are you so headstrong? In fact, bowing to me is an honor. You saw the King's noble Knights. When they saw me, they bowed," says Theodrech, testing Freidrech. "Allow me to be forward, Your Highness. For me, bowing to a monarch does not guarantee loyalty. If I were you, I rather have men who stand straight in my presence but who got my back, than bowing men who are dreaming of my death," replies Freidrech. The prince’s curiosity increases. A huge smile is seen on his face. Prince Theodrech decides to take Freidrech under his wing. Little did they know, this boy who Prince Theodrech takes in as his confidant and friend in the most ridiculous fashion is someone indispensable in his life and the one who can help him succeed the throne when he almost believes he has lost. Thus, the Tales of the Legendary Scholar begins. ------ o ------ Old Synopsis: A famous ancient adage stated, behind a successful man is a woman BUT… In these lands, the monarchs are seeking not a woman to stand behind them but the man hailed as the Legendary Scholar.
