《Lost Fantasy-Life After Reincarnation (Arc 1)》Chapter 25

"The hell do you mean?" Loganel asked, tightening his grip on his sword as he eyed the Succubus before him.
The Succubus smirked and giggled at Loganel's question. "It's simple," she answered. "You know the answer."
Suddenly, could feel a pair of cold hands covering his eyes as his world darkened around him. He could see nothing, but he could tell that his eyes were open since he had blinked to made sure they were. His panic response was delayed by the unnaturally alluring aroma of the Succubus, causing him to lose focus as to what situation he was in and dragged into a trance. He could feel the Succubus's body pressing against his back, especially the softness of her breasts.
"Just admit it," the Succubus whispered into his ear. "You hate them."
Loganel then finally forced himself out of the Succubus's allure, and directed the blade of his sword at the Succubus behind him. With the sound of the sword slicing through air and hitting only air, Loganel's world suddenly brightened once again as the Succubus had left his side so as to avoid being attacked.
Loganel looked around in search of her, and found her leaning against a tree nearby.
"You don't smell quite normal," the Succubus smiled. "Almost like that Summoned Hero that was here earlier."
"What are on about?"
Loganel allowed his Mana to be absorbed by his blade, and when the glyphs started shining, he swung the blade, allowing the stored Mana to be compressed into a razor sharp blast wave directed at the Succubus. The only thing this attack was able to damage was the tree, which was sliced cleaning in half. The Succubus however, was still fine as she had stepped to the side and easily evaded his attack.
"You're like him are you?" the Succubus continued. "You're from another world?"
Loganel didn't answer her. Instead, he lunged at her with his sword up and ready to attack. However, the Succubus used her agile body and footwork to move behind Loganel to cover his eyes once again with her gentle, right hand. Next, she brought her other arm over his shoulder and leaned on him, which allowed her to predict Loganel's every move since she was able to feel the tensing of his every muscle.
"You know," the Succubus whispered into Loganel's ear, "there was a failed summoning. It was about...seven and a half years ago? Around the time you should be...eight?"
Loganel's mind was clouded as he listened to the Succubus's words. Knowing that this would lead to his downfall, he threw the Succubus off of him and gasped for air.
Don't let her get to you, he told himself.
He then proceeded to strike out at the Succubus with precise cuts and stabs of his sword. However, the Succubus was able to effortlessly evade every single one of his attacks effortlessly as if she could predict his every single move.

"Are you that failed summoning?"
The Succubus caught Loganel's blade with two fingers, and when Loganel tried to retract the blade, he discovered that the Succubus had tremendous strength that he could not easily overcome.
"Do you feel jealous?" the Succubus asked, leaning her body forward so as to get her face closer to Loganel's. As she did so, her erotic smell once again captivated Loganel's mind.
"Are you mad that he has everything just because he's the summoned Hero?" the Succubus continued on. She brought her free hand to Loganel's face and gently caressed it.
"Aww, you could've had it all," she said. The movement of her lips brought Loganel into a trance as he stared at her alluring lips. "If it wasn't for him. You were supposed to be where he's at. You're supposed to have it all. It should've all been yours."
"I..." Loganel forced out, but he realized that he had nothing to say.
"Are you just going to accept this?" the Succubus pushed Loganel onto the ground with both hands on either side of his head, pinning him down beneath her. She then brought her face closer to Loganel's and gently licked his cheeks. "You don't have to keep it all hidden you know," the Succubus whispered softly into his ear. "Let it all out on me. I can make you feel better."
As she said so, she stripped herself of her cloak, revealing a skimpy outfit underneath that covered only the vital areas. She used her right hand and ran it down Loganel's left arm until she was at his wrist. Next, she took hold of his left wrist and brought his hand up to her chest where she pressed his hands tight on her erotic breasts.
"Let it all out," she said, her face red with pleasure.
Loganel could feel his mind slipping away. Giving up was easy for him. All he had to do was allow his temptations to take over and consume all of his sanity. It is difficult to resist, but Loganel wanted to resist. That was why he pushed the Succubus off of him and slowly got back up to wield his sword once again.
"I..." Loganel's voice was wavering.
"You don't have to give me a response now," the Succubus smiled. "I'm sure one day we will meet again and that time, you would give in. I am certain. As of now, stop torturing yourself. It pains me."
She stood up, smiling as she allowed her wings to appear from her back and taking off into the air. Before she left, she turned to look at Loganel. "You would be a good addition to our forces, but that is if you can defeat them."
Loganel's eyes followed her as she disappeared into the sky. His mind was boggled as to what she had said; her voice repeated itself in his mind causing him to focus on the topics that she had brought up to him.

Just then, Loganel heard the sounds of the bushes being disturbed from behind him. He turned around and saw ten of the twelve orcs with their weapons drawn, eyeing him with greed and hunger.
Loganel gritted his teeth as he cursed his own luck. However, he smiled as he drew his sword once again. He was mad at what the Succubus had done to his mind, and he was glad for this opportunity to release it all on the orcs before him.
That day, by the riverbed, he danced through a whirlwind of slashes and cuts from the orcs unscathed. He retaliated with precise attacks, allowing his new sword to slice through limbs and pierce armor. He became a twirling whirlwind, delivering and stopping attacks from all directions as he mowed his way through the orcs, severing their arms and heads.
Blood splattered onto him, causing his black coat and hair to be caked with dried blood. However, he wasn't afraid. He was calmer than he had ever been, even more than when he was going against the Cleaver.
Sidestepping a slash from behind his back, Loganel immediately turned his body and plunged his black blade into the orc that had initiated the attack, causing blood to spray out of the orc's body and dying the river bed a crimson red.
The once clear river was now polluted, tainted by the crimson liquid of life and the bits of the orcs' body. Still, the battle continued. Both sides had no intent of stopping so the bloodshed continued on.
With a twist of his body in the air, Loganel was able to dodge a cut delivered to his side. As he turned 360 degrees in the air, he kept his gray eyes fixed on the orc that had attackedw without blinking. That death gaze brought a chill down the orc's spine. However, the orc continued on due to its pride, which led to his brutal death.
As Loganel landed, he immediately brought his blade to the orc's neck, and as if cutting through gell, the blade sunk into the orc's neck and cleanly sliced through the spine before coming out the other side. The attack was so precise that the head barely moved as it was separated from the orc's body. When the orc's corpse toppled over, it was due to that momentum that the severed head rolled off.
That day, Loganel ended up laying down on the ground on the crimson riverbed. Beside him were the corpses of ten orcs. He stared into the sky with his eyes, unable to comprehend or perceive anything in the world as he concentrated on what the Succubus had said.
I'm the failed summoning? Doesn't matter. Don't think about it. It is what it is. Nothing will change the current situation.
"It should've all been yours."
The Succubus's voice echoed in his mind.
All been mine? Loganel reached towards the bright sky with one hand. What a joke. Even if it was, I would lose it all anyways. I'm not like him, charismatic and caring. I am myself, someone that even I myself despise. What's the point of having if in the end it'll all be gone? If I was the Summoned Hero, I would probably still be on my own.
Loganel smiled as he lowered his hand, feeling the gentle breeze as it cooled his body which had heated up from the battle he had participated in earlier.
"Azura..." Loganel whispered.
I...I'm attracted to her... Loganel covered his eyes with his right forearm. I can't lie to myself anymore. Why I was like that? Because she was ignoring me. But I should've expected that from the beginning. We're people of different worlds. She's perfect, extraordinary even.
When she was talking with him that day...that was the few times that I've seen her smiled. She's warming up to him so easily, where as for me, after about a month's time together she was still about the same...
She...Does she have feelings for him? Probably. Judging on how they act, I wouldn't be surprised if they got together. They fit each other perfectly too. She's pretty, and he is handsome and caring. Their the ideal couple. Someone twisted like me would never have this chance.
But...No...There's no buts...it doesn't matter. If it's someone like Tetsuya then...I guess I'll just have to be fine with it. Still...it doesn't feel good. Pressuring myself to stay with them, acting as the third wheel...its nothing but torture for me.
...That Succubus said for me to stop torturing myself...Does that mean she could tell? She's...right. I should stop torturing myself.
"Time to quit," Loganel whispered.
If I distance myself from them...would it make things better? They probably see me as a disturbance so it would benefit them. It would also benefit me because I can avoid seeing them. How should I tell them? Maybe ask to be kept on their party list so that I can still venture out of the walls and make a living. Yeah. I should do that. Get away from them, for my sake.
Loganel closed his eyes.
Get away...Leave. That's right. Don't bother them. Someone like me should just go.
