"Logan!" Laurina happily embraced her younger brother after about two years of separation. She had risen quite early in the morning to await for him here at Astalan.

"Long time no see," Loganel greeted his older sister and brother.

They were standing on the side of one of the busy main streets that led to the city square, where countless merchant stands and storefronts were open for business to travelers. It was noon already, which meant that the streets were bustling with activity and filled with people walking here and there. The streets were filled with the hollering of merchants, chattering of the people, and the sound of the city.

"How have you been, Juliana" Laurina asked.

"I've been great," Juliana smiled and answered.

"Can we head back to the dorms now?" Redgilus asked, yawning as he slowly moved his feet to follow us as Laurina volunteered to lead us to the Academy. He was still him even after two years. He still had that sleepy look on his face and always seemed to be zoning out. However, Loganel knows that underneath that simple mask of his, he was a person of uttermost determination.

"Redge," Laurina sighed and looked over her shoulders at him with a worried look as she continued walking, "Logan still has to head to the Admission Ceremony."

"I could go by myself," Loganel offered. He was curious about school and life in the city. In fact, he had saved up all the money that Aldin had gifted him just so that he could buy better stuff in Astalan. "I want to see if I can do things by myself now."

"..." Laurina appears to be in thought. The silence persisted for a good half a minute before she spoke up once again. "Are you sure?" she asked, trying her best to act more mature in front of her younger brother.

"Yeah," Loganel said with a simple smile. "I mean I'm older now so...I should be able to do fine. That's what you two did when you first got here didn't you."

"Alright then," Laurina finally agreed to Loganel's proposal after a brief mental conflict with herself. "But let us at least walk you to the Academy. That is the only condition."

"Don't we have to go to the Academy to go to our dorms?" Redgilus pointed out, yawning again as they made a turn on the road.

"...Shut up!" Laurina appeared slightly red as she shouted at her twin brother angrily. She then cleared her throat and it was as if nothing had happened at all.

In the distance, past the buildings that lined the sides of the road, there appears to be a large building who's tower was visible from where the four of them were at. On the side of the tower was what appears to be a banner.

"Is that the castle?" Loganel asked.

"That's the Academy," Laurina giggled and answered. "The castle's at the other side of Astalan."

"Wow."

When the four of them finally arrived at the front gates of the Academy, Loganel was shocked at the beautiful buildings of the Academy. Past the opened steel bar gates, was a long brick road that led to a giant, castle like structure with the tall tower.

"That's one of the lecture halls," Laurina explained, "it's for magic studies and alchemy. The buildings to our left is the dorms."

"Is that so?" Loganel looked over to his left as he walked. His eyes were fixed on the five story building beyond the small field of green grass. The dorm building was quite big in size actually, with multiple windows lining each of the five stories signifying the abundance of rooms.

"Those are for the general population," Laurina added. "Meaning ordinary peasants. Our dorms on the other side of the school. Only nobility and children of wealthy merchants could afford to reside there. The others, they stay at the normal dorms like the ones you see there."

The four of them then arrived in front of the big, glamorous lecture building that was built with a white brick mixed that appeared quite elegant with its dark blue roof tiles. The big front door was opened, revealing a prodigious entrance hall with high ceilings and expensive looking furnishings and decorations in the form of elegant chandeliers, carpets, and banners that hung on the wall.

"Can we go now?" Redgilus asked as he yawned once again and blinked sleepily.

"Not yet, Redgilus." Laurina sighed and shook her head in a tired way. "Anyways," she continued speaking to Loganel, "all you have to do is head to the theater where the ceremony is taking place in and confirm your identity with the school. They'll tell you what to do from there."

"Got it," Loganel smiled as he prepared excitedly to explore the Academy.

"Oh and one more thing," Laurina turned around to speak to him for the last time before she set him free. "Father gave you some money right?"

"Yeah," Loganel answered truthfully.

"I hope you didn't spend it all."

"Of course not."

"Well," Laurina frowned, "the thing is that students are only allowed to take on quests to earn money once they are in Grade Five, which means that you could only really start earning money after five years of school."

"What?" Loganel stared at her in surprise.

"Yeah," Laurina sighed. "That's why I was hoping you didn't spend all of your money because the amount Redgilus and I have left would not last us until our fifth year here."

"Don't worry," Loganel assured her, "I only spent about twenty Copper on my way here for food. I still have a bunch left over."

"About how much?" Laurina asked.

"About two hundred and eighty Copper, one hundred Silver, and five Gold."

Laurina then unleashed a sigh of relief. "Thank the lord you still have so much on you." She then smiled as her face brightened up, "this should be able to last you until your fifth year."

"Will it?"

"Yeah. The cost for the dorms and our tuition has already been paid by father so we won't have to worry about that."

"That's welcoming news."

"Alright then," Laurina started off once again with Redgilus following by her side. "See you later."

After parting way's with his older siblings, Loganel walked the interior of the lecture hall with Juliana by his side. His destination was the theater, which wasn't hard to find despite the vast scale of the school grounds due to the fact that numerous people who appeared to be students were headed towards there. All Loganel had to do was follow them to his destination.

Outside of the theater, which was in a separate building next to the lecture hall, there was multiple tables set up with older students sitting on the other side of the table. Hovering in the air directly above the tables was what appears to be letters created by magic, which was used to guide the new students to their respective tables. Since Loganel's family name was Ainzloft, he went to the first table.

"What is your full name?" the boy with dark brown hair dressed in what appears to be the Academy's school uniform asked Loganel when it was his turn in line.

"Loganel Ainzloft," Loganel responded. "And this is my servant, Juliana Unbekt."

"Noble?" the boy whispered lightly after he found Loganel's file in the box of documents next to him. "Sign here on this paper."

He handed Loganel a pen and a sheet of paper. Loganel quickly skimmed through the contents on the paper, and after seeing that it was basically a confirmation of his and Juliana's enrollment to the Academy, he signed it and handed it back to the student before him.

"Now head into the theater and take a seat anywhere," the student guided him, "there will be an Admission Ceremony and after that, go pick up your school uniforms and study materials."

"Got it," Loganel smiled and thanked the boy.

Inside the theater, it slowly became packed with first year students that were filling in from the entrances. Their ages were generally around ten years old, with some being a year to four older at max. On the stage, there was a podium with teachers standing behind it at the back of the stage. After about five minutes, a woman in her mid-thirties walked up to the podium, and with the aid of a volume enhancing spell, she started talking to the students.

"Good afternoon everyone," she said in a powerful voice, "I am the principal of the Royal Academy of Magic and Combat, Lara Zaubern. I am excited to be able to spend the next eight years with you all. I'm sure that many of you are excited to learn about the arts of magic and combats, but, it is my duty to set a curriculum that will protect you and ensure your survival in this world. This might be a disappointment to many of you first year students but official combat and magic training shall only began once you have reached Grade Four. Before that though, your lessons shall consists of basic math, history, literature, alchemy, and other courses that are designed to better prepare you for your future."

Loganel ignored the rest of the speech, as it was basically the cliche introduction of the school stuff. He had acquired all the information that he had wanted to listen to. Therefore, by daydreaming, he was able to quickly pass time until the speech and ceremony had ended.

He yawned as he got up from his seat and stretched, awaiting for the person next to him to start heading out to the isles so that he would be able to exit.

"Master Logan," Juliana said to him, "you didn't listen didn't you?"

"Yeah," Loganel honestly admitted.

She sighed. "Just as I had expected."

"It's fine," Loganel smiled, "cause I know you listened to it for me."

"That's not an excuse for your negligence."

After leaving the theater room and into the big room before the theater, there were students with piles of school uniforms neatly folded and piled on top of each other. It appears that this was where the students were to pick up their school uniforms and lesson materials.

"What size?" a student asked Loganel as he approached her.

"Are these children or adult sizes?" Juliana asked for Loganel.

"They're adult," the student answered.

"I'll take a medium," Juliana said, "and a small for him please."

"Here you go," the student handed Juliana her school uniform, which consisted of a white button up shirt and a dark blue skirt. "And here's the blazer for the winter season," the student said, handing her the dark blue blazer with the emblem of the Academy stitched onto it.

"And as for him," she then brought out a separate set of clothes, which was basically the same thing as Juliana's except that instead of a skirt, it was a pair of black pants. "And there's the blazer. Oh and don't forget to take the necktie and ribbons."

"Thank you," Juliana slightly bowed to her as she accepted the clothing items that the student, who was only slightly older than her, had given her.

"You're all set," the student smiled happily at Juliana's politeness and gentility.

After leaving the theater and escaping from the crowd, Loganel sat down on one of the many wooden benches situated in the school. He tugged at the collar of his shirt to allow the gentle breeze to cool him down.

"Man it was hot in there," he complained as he fanned himself with his hands.

"Master Logan," Juliana said in a warning tone, "you're in public."

"Ahhh," Loganel whined as he reverted back to a more formal behavior. "You could stop calling me master you know," he said to Juliana. "Just go by my name."

"Please allow me to refuse," Juliana said with a frown, "as that would break customs and social rules."

"Who cares," Loganel said, "we're not home anymore. Here, we're both students. So just call me Loganel."

"If you insist," Juliana initially appeared slightly troubled but soon, her frown became a gentle smile as she secretly celebrated deep within herself.

"Let's head to our dorms now and move in," Loganel stood up from the bench. "Class starts tomorrow. Let's get the first five years over with and get started with the more exciting stuff."

"Right," Juliana smiled as she followed after Loganel, who led the way as they walked to their future in Astalan.

She looked at Loganel's backside and felt a strong resolve from him. She smiled, knowing that her young master was confident, and doesn't seem to be restrained by homesickness. This is the person she wanted to serve.

Suddenly, Loganel stopped in his tracks.

"Yes?" Juliana tilted her head slightly and asked.

Loganel rigidly turned around and looked at Juliana with a hint of fear in his eyes. "Where's our dorms again?"

"Loganel," Juliana said with a smile, but underneath that smile was a swelling anger. "Didn't I tell you that you should've listened to the principal's speech?"
