Issa hummed a cheerful melody as he skipped down the hall, minding his own business. He headed towards his dorm room holding his baby in his arms, having promised Roman that he'd watch over it tonight since Roman would be busy. Issa wasn't allowed to know where he was going or what he was going to do but was promised that Roman would be back tomorrow morning.
Even though Issa didn't always show it, he was worried about him. He didn't like not knowing what was going on in the realm of vampires that Roman was involved in.
He looked down at their baby and smiled.
"Don't worry, Roman junior," he spoke softly to the baby. "Daddy will be back tomorrow. I'll take good care of you until he does."
"Issa?" called a voice. Issa looked up and froze in his steps, his eyes widening as he saw Noah, Micka and Astrid standing across the hall from him. They had a predatory look glistening in their eyes, and Issa gulped, slowly backing away.
"Grab him!" ordered Astrid.
"EEP!" screamed Issa, turning around and running down the corridors as fast as he could. But Micka used to be co-captain of the football team, and when he ran, he ran like the wind. Issa screamed at the top of his lungs as he heard Micka's loud footsteps quicken behind him.
"I'M INNOCENT, I SWEAR!" he shouted, almost tripping when he made a sharp turn around the corner. Micka quickened his pace and took a strong leap forward, tackling Issa onto the ground, and stealing his baby as if it were a football. He hugged it tightly against his chest and rolled on the ground so that the baby wouldn't get hurt.
Issa fell flat on his face.
Astrid who only just caught up, raised her brows, impressed by how quick and strong Micka was. She thought that Micka was nothing but a mixture of anger and stupidity, but it seemed as if he could be useful at times.
"My baby!" gasped Issa, realizing that Micka had Roman junior.
"We'll give you your baby back," promised Astrid in a calm voice. "But we need a favor to ask you first."
"You could have asked me a favor WITHOUT stealing my baby!" He shouted. "And was tackling me to the ground really necessary?"

"Necessary? No. Hilarious? Yes," smirked Micka. Noah shot him a glare and Micka mouthed a clueless: what?
"Roman and Aleksei are leaving somewhere tonight, and they're going to take their car. We need you to distract them after they unlock the car door so that we can sneak into the trunk."
"What they do is none of your business," Issa said firmly.
"They're going to kill Noé," argued Astrid.
"Unless he's already dead," reminded Micka.
"Kill? What are you guys talking about?"
"I don't know what kind of lies Roman has been telling you, but he's one of the vampires that kidnaps and kills our students."
"Roman's not like that!" Deadpanned Issa angrily. "He wouldn't even harm a fly. Roman and Aleksei aren't monsters, don't accuse them of being something that they're not!"
"Oh, Issa," murmured Astrid. She knew how close he was to Roman and how much the truth would hurt him.
"Look midget, you either do as we say, or the baby gets thrown out the window," threatened Micka who had much less patience and sympathy than Astrid.
"You wouldn't dare! Not to Roman junior."
"Oh, you bet I will," snorted Micka, dangling the baby out the window. "So what's it going to be?"
Noah knew that Micka was only bluffing, but he couldn't stand the shocked and broken look on Issa's face. He was about to tell him that they'd find a different way to follow the vamps, but Issa gave in.
"Alright, fine," he grumbled, running a frustrated hand through his golden curls. "I'll do what you say. Just... Just don't hurt the baby."
"Don't be mad at us, Issa, we just want to help Noé," murmured Astrid.
"Roman is innocent," he snapped. "You'll see, all of you will! They're not cold-blooded murderers."
"Will you believe us if we come back with proof?" Asked Astrid calmly.
"If we come back," clarified Micka, earning a dark glare from everyone. He raised his hands in innocence. "Just saying."
"Fine," huffed Issa. "But I'm telling you that you won't find them doing anything suspicious."
"So two vamps heading to a forest at night seem completely normal to you?" snorted Micka.
"Maybe they want to go out and gaze at the stars," argued Issa. Micka rolled his eyes. "Roman likes stars."
"Look midget, I get that you have this thing for vamps, but open your eyes. How do you think they keep themselves alive? They drink blood. Human blood."
It wasn't like Issa didn't know that he just never had the courage to face the fact that Roman might actually be drinking human blood. And if he did, how? Did he really kill innocent students? Did he really hurt humans?

"Micka," murmured Astrid, trying to stop him, but Micka pushed her hand away.
"No, Issa deserves to know the truth if he's going to hang around those creeps," snapped Micka.
"They're not creeps," argued Noah, who had remained quiet the entire time. Never once during his three-day marriage with Aleksei did he feel like he was being around a creep. And Roman seemed more human than actual humans.
"How would you know?" Muttered Micka.
"I just do," he said.
"Dude, you're letting this marriage thing get to your head."
Noah ignored him, looking towards Issa. "Whatever Roman's not telling you, I'm sure it's for your own good. He's probably trying to protect you."
"Then why are you running around behind Aleksei's back? If he's hiding something, then isn't it to protect you too?"
"That's the thing," said Noah softly. "I don't need protecting."
Issa looked at Noah's bold, green eyes. Noah had no idea what he was getting himself into, but even if he was aware of the risks and danger, it still wouldn't stop him from investigating Noé's case. Issa's arms fell to his sides.
"Alright, I'll help you three," he mumbled. "But first give me back my baby."

Noah, Micka, and Astrid had sprayed themselves with perfume, the one that the FBI gave them to hide their human scent to avoid getting caught. They hid behind a bush near the parking lot watching Aleksei and Roman walk out of the building as they had predicted, heading towards the scarlet-colored Porsche. Micka rolled his eyes.
"Why am I not surprised," he muttered under his breath. Aleksei pulled out his keys and unlocked the doors, but when he did, Issa came out of the school building in his teddy bear pajamas and matching teddy bear slippers.
"ALEKSEI! ROMAN!" he shouted, almost tripping on his way. They both turned towards him. Aleksei looked annoyed and Roman, surprised.
"What are you doing out here?" asked Roman. "It's almost past curfew, you should be in bed."
"Yes, but I have an emergency. It's something really urgent!" he said urgently.
"What is it?"
"I need you two to rate this song," he said, holding out two earphones, one of them plugged into his phone and the other into his MP3.
"That's your emergency?" deadpanned Aleksei, losing his patience.
"It's important, okay? I'm making a "top 10 favorite song" list, and I'm hesitating between queen Lizzo and my soulmate Billie Eilish," he huffed. "Please, Aleksei? I need your guys' help. I'll even dance to the music if you-"
"Absolutely not," growled Aleksei. Roman reached out and took the earphones, plugging two of them in Aleksei's ears before he could resist and putting the second pair in his ears. Issa grinned widely, starting to play the music at full volume.
"LOWER THE VOLUME!" yelled Aleksei, feeling like his eardrums were going to explode, but Issa needed to block both of their hearings so that they wouldn't hear Noah, Micka, and Astrid sneak into their car. The three of them were wearing the perfume that Geo gave them, the one that removed their human scent.
"YOU GOTTA LISTEN AT FULL BLAST TO ENJOY THE MUSIC," yelled Issa, starting to do jumping jacks, which was his sign to the three who were hiding behind the bush that they could start moving.
"I can't believe this is actually working," muttered Micka in disbelief, sneaking out from the bushes.
Astrid opened the trunk and quickly motioned for Noah and Micka to climb in before doing so herself. They squeezed inside like three peas in a pod and closed the trunk. Everything became pitch black.
Noah could feel something stab his rib.
"Micka, can you move your foot?" he whispered.
"That's not my foot," mumbled Micka. "It's my baby."
Noah blinked. "You brought your baby?!"
"I couldn't just leave it in the dorms!"
hissed Micka.
"I did."
"You heartless monster," he gasped. Before Noah could tell him to take the batteries out of the baby, they heard the front door of the car open.
"He's ridiculous," muttered Aleksei, sitting behind the wheel.
"He's adorable," corrected Roman.
"Not my cup of tea."
Roman raised a brow. "You don't like tea."
"Exactly."
Roman put on his seatbelt. "Hey, about this morning, I'm-"
"I know," interrupted Aleksei, starting the car. He had too much pride to apologize. "I am too, so let's just forget it."
Typical Aleksei, thought Roman to himself. He smiled. "But it was really sweet of you getting all protective when you thought Noah was the one who was kidna-"
Aleksei stepped on the peddle and Roman was cut off, his back pressing against his seat as they zoomed down the road.

Black Meridian
Here's a fact about humans: They are intelligent, versatile creatures with a tendency for murder and vice. Zeta, a swordsman from a villa at the summit of Greenwich Mountain, has heard many stories about the "Sigma World," the colloquial term for any and all things superpowered in the world. He's also heard of the many tragedies, as well as the many wonders humankind has created in its history, even if he has yet to see it in person. Following the philosophy of his teacher, Gin Kagan, Zeta intends to become a "Servant of Humanity," in an endeavor to protect mankind from its gravest threats, from power-hungry sigma-users, but most importantly, from itself. He's going to need a lot of allies to pull that off, even if he doesn't understand that just yet. This story is originally published at www.sigmacentral.wordpress.com. Elder's Game
In a world set upon by an ancient threat, a new cycle of civilisation competes for power and resources. Amidst the games and politicking of Elder beings, the masses are unknowingly ensnared in plots and schemes that were centuries in the making. At the heart of the world’s workings lies the Tyreal Valley—a land that promises to fulfil the desires of those who seek it. As a haven for the truly strong, the path to this promise is paved more often than not in warfare and blood. To two young stragglers fighting for more than just their own fates, it is left as their only answer. But maybe that’s just what their enemies want. Magic system vaguely similar to GameLit ones (no system nor interface to help), with certain elements that are a bit more analogue. Politics, war, looming apocalypse, a tiny dash of kingdom building, and a minor bit of crafting. There is a bit of a progression element as well as both environmental and cultural exploration. The story follows two youths more directly influenced by aforementioned Elder beings than most. Neither lead cares for politics but certain situations force them into participating, forcing them to make decisions that shape their morality. Initially, the focus is on the male lead as he comes of age in an environment with little scope to change his future, only to be thrust into new circumstances that permanently kill some of his hopes. 3k words every chapter
