《Elegance | Harry Potter》Battle Of Hogwarts (2)

I tried to get this done before Christmas but fell asleep in the middle lol. Happy boxing day! Too bad I can't say Happy Christmas. Only one hour late.

"...Nothing but him,"

Hermione and Ron separated with Harry and I in order to find the Basilisk fang in the chamber of secrets with the marauders map and Hufflepuff's cup. Since Harry managed to destroy the first horcrux with the fang, it should be able to destroy other horcruxes too. Meanwhile they were searching for the fang, Hogwarts prepared for the final battle. The protective dome around the castle would shine occasionally almost looking like fireworks even though it was a symbol of war. Harry and I stayed together and ran towards the Ravenclaw common room unaware of where to start. I knew each advancements we made in destroying the horcruxes the less time I had left with Harry.

"Harry, wait!" Luna called out for us while running up the stairs right behind us. "I need to talk to you!"

"I'm a bit pre-occupied at the moment, Luna," Harry replied not stopping.

"You don't know where you're going. You're wasting your time!"

"Harry we should listen to her. She was the one who brought up the diadem," I said stopping and turning back to Luna.

"Look, we'll talk later, okay?"

"Harry Potter, you listen to me right now!" She yelled. Only then Harry stopped and looked back at Luna. "Do you remember what Cho said about Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem? There is not a person alive who's seen it. It's obvious, isn't it? We have to talk to someone who's dead."

"The Grey Lady, Tower of Ravenclaw? I know who that is but she doesn't interact with students that often," I said.

"I can show you where to find her," she said walking away past the students running down the stairs preparing for battle. Harry hesitated at first but followed me as we both ran after her towards the Tower of Ravenclaw.

The corridors got emptier as we got closer and more quieter as we entered the tower leading into an empty and quiet corridor that led to the common rooms. "If you want to find her, you'll find her down there," Luna said.

"Aren't you coming?" Harry asked.

"No. I think it's best if you two talk alone. She's very shy," she replied looking at me.

"Yeah, I understand," I replied. Harry didn't say anything and just stared at me like he was lost of words and didn't know what to say. "Don't worry Harry. I can take care of myself."

"Don't go anywhere. You better stay right here. Don't even move a foot," he said before walking down the corridors.

"Lets give them a little space," Luna said walking towards a window not too far away from the corridor. The protective shield around the castle finished building itself and covered the entire castle. A war was coming and in the end, I know what must happen. Neither one shall live while the other survives. One has to die tonight. Harry or Voldemort. With the horcruxes still being alive, I know it's Harry that has to die. It wouldn't be too late if I maybe never let Harry go and just... Hide. But I know I can't do that. For now, I'll choose not to think about it.

From a distance I could see thousands of dark figures, death eaters. I know Voldemort would be one of them and I know Apolline would also be too. All bridges were surrounded with defensive spells. One had moving statues and multiple magical creatures on our side.

"How are you?" Luna asked staring out the window.

"...I'm not sure. What about you?"

"I don't know. My dad says he trusts Harry. He always has."

"I trust him too."

"There's something else on your mind?"

"...Nothing but him," I said staring out the window. Outside I could see thousands of spells the death eaters casted rising into the air and slowly descending hitting the protective shield. The shield managed to hold itself together. Everyone was preparing for battle and it felt wrong for me to sit around and do nothing. "I can't just stay here. I need to help."

"I understand. I'm sure Harry will too," she replied nodding. I looked back at the corridors, at Harry, before running down towards one of the entrances to Hogwarts. There were a couple students a fair distance away from the bridge, most that I recognized. Ginny, Seamus, and other members of the DA. Just on the other side of the bridge were thousands of snatchers and death eaters. Neville stood right in front of the death eaters laughing at them knowing they're unable to touch us as long as the protective shield was still intact.

"Why is Neville all by himself over there?" I asked walking up to Ginny.

"It's a trap. He's gonna explode the bridge."

"While he's on it?"

"Yeah."

"Is that safe?"

"Er... Maybe?"

"Neville! Get back a little!" I yelled walking up closer. He didn't look back. I wasn't even sure if he heard me being so far away. From the windows I could see a large green light hitting the shield. One I can only imagine from Voldemort himself. With just one blow, the shield started to crumble into pieces. I could barely see the snatcher in the very front of the crowd. His face was a blur but I recognized his features, Scabior. He took one step forward and nothing happened to him for there was no longer a protective charm. After a momentary silence, he yelled and all the thousands of snatchers came charging towards the bridge, towards Neville.

"Neville!" I called out for him running as fast as possible towards the bridge. He too turned around and began to run towards me. He shot one spell back that hit the bridge and continued to run. Behind him, the bridge started to explode fast. I ran faster holding my arm out getting closer to him. The floor beneath him crumbled faster than he could get to me. I leaped forward grabbing his hand just before the entire bridge collapsed.

"We've got you Neville," Ginny said rushing over and helping me pull Neville up.

"Thanks," Neville said catching his breath.

"You're welcome. You alright?"

"Yeah. Never better. It feels I can breathe fire. Have you seen Luna?"

"Yeah, I was just with her at the Ravenclaw Tower."

"Could you take me there?"

"Of course," I said helping him up. "Follow me."

"Evelyn?" Ginny called out.

"Yeah?"

"Good luck."

"You too," I smiled before continuing my way towards the Ravenclaw Tower.

As Neville and I ran past the students I noticed the ongoing war. All the students were panicking and a few of the death eaters were flying inside Hogwarts grounds. We made our way to the main entrance where one death eater was flying above the running students casting curses at them. Everything was extremely chaotic. Outside the castle was no better. Magical creatures were fighting each other and the moving statues only delayed the charges.

"Stupefy!" I shot a spell at the death eater flying above the students successfully stunning him.

"Evelyn!" Harry called out running towards Neville and I.

"Have you seen Luna up there?" Neville asked.

"Luna?"

"I'm mad for her. I think it's about time I told her since we'll probably both be dead by dawn," he said running up the stairs and towards the Ravenclaw tower.

"I told you not to go anywhere," Harry said.

"I couldn't just sit around and wait. I ended up saving someone's life. Did you find where the diadem is?"

"Yeah. Room of Requirements."

"Alright. Let's go," I said grabbing his arm and running down the corridors towards the room of requirements. The corridors were empty on our way towards the room of requirements. Although the ceiling started to crumble from all the impact of the war. Big and small debris fell down onto us though we didn't stop. Harry tried to hold me back and pull me closer but I pushed away running fast towards the room. We stopped at the familiar wall and closed our eyes with our head filled with just one desire. For all this to be over. And for all this to be over, we need the diadem. The door revealed itself slowly and we walked inside before the fully materialized.

"Merlin I hate coming here," Harry said frantically looking around.

"Why?"

"Because last time I came here Ginny kissed me."

"...What did you just say?"

"We'll talk about it later. I promise I didn't kiss her back," he said walking over and grabbing a small tatted box. He slowly opened it to reveal a diadem with a beautiful blue gem in the middle. The Ravenclaw's Diadem. The 6th horcrux. Each time, we're getting closer to the last one. Harry.

"Well, well... What brings you here, Potter?" I quickly turned around at the familiar voice. From the entrance of the room of requirements, Draco walked in along with Goyle and Blaise with their wands pointed towards us.

"Draco," I called out for him feeling a fast smile on my face.

"I could ask you the same," Harry said.

"You have something that's mine. I'd like it back," Draco spat not even looking at me.

"What's wrong with the wand you have?"

"It's my mother's. It's powerful, but it's... Not the same. Doesn't quite understand me. You know what I mean?"

"Why didn't you tell her? Bellatrix? You knew it was me. You didn't say anything."

"Come on, Draco! Don't be a prat. Do it! Easy!" Goyle whispered to Draco. He didn't react and just kept his eye contact with Harry. Goyle and Draco's focus were on Harry and Blaise was the only one prepared to attack me.

"Expelliarmus!" Someone shot a spell at Draco skimming past him. From behind us, Ron and Hermione came running. The two caused a distraction making Draco and Blaise back away and we used this chance to take cover.

"Avada Kedavra!"

"Stupefy!" Hermione yelled deflecting the curse Goyle casted before it hit her. The spell hit the box containing the diadem sending it flying on top of a pile of random objects.

"This is my girlfriend, you bloody gits!" Ron yelled chasing after Goyle, Draco, and Blaise.

"Girlfriend?" I said looking over at Hermione.

"Shut up."

Harry desperately threw the objects off the pile creating a path for him to climb towards the diadem. Hermione and I quickly helped him clearing the path for him while Ron disappeared out of our sight. "Got it!" Harry yelled grabbing the diadem. A clear screaming echoed through the room, though unsure of whom, followed with a sudden bright light. From the same direction, Ron came running out screaming frantically.

"They've set the bloody place on fire!" Ron yelled continuing to run past Harry and I, grabbing Hermione's hand. Behind him bursts of flames chased after him. Harry too grabbed my hand and ran right behind Hermione and Ron towards the exit.

The room quickly filled with the bursts of flame. On our way I shot multiple spells at the stacks of random objects in hopes to slow the flame down. The flame was too strong and seemed impossible to get rid off, taking shape of a dragons, snakes, and a lion. Our path was blocked by the dragon flame and behind us was blocked by the lion flame. The two bursts of flames surrounded us trapping us in the middle. The snake flame came charging at us and Harry casted a protective charm just before it hit knocking us backwards and landing on some old brooms.

"The brooms!" Ron yelled throwing a broom to each of us. I still didn't know how to ride a broom well yet. There was no way I'd be able to outfly the flames.

"Get on mine," Harry said mounting his broom. I got on the broom behind him holding on tight as we flew up. Behind me I could see the entire room in flames. I could still see Draco and Blaise on top of a tall pile of random objects. They too were surrounded with nowhere else to go.

"We can't leave them!" I yelled.

"She's joking, right?" Ron yelled furrowing his eyebrows at Harry. He didn't say anything and turned his broom around heading towards Draco and Blaise leaving behind Ron's groaning.

"If we die for them, I'm gonna kill both of you!" Ron yelled following behind us alongside Hermione. As we flew right past above the two, I grabbed Draco's hand while Ron grabbed Blaise helping him on his broom. There was no more space on Harry's broom for Draco to get on causing him to just dangle while grabbing onto me.

"I've got you, I've got you."

"You're alive," Draco said, the corner of his lips slightly going up.

"I can't hold onto you for long," I said struggling to get the words out.

"I've got him," Hermione said flying over and helping him on her broom. We flew towards the exit as fast as possible. I drew out my wand separating the wall of fire allowing us through without injury. The door was already opened allowing Ron and Hermione to fly out easily. Just as Harry and I got out a sudden burst of flame knocked both of us off the room and knocking the diadem out of Harry's hand making it roll in front of me.

"Evelyn!" Hermione yelled throwing the basilisk fang at me. I caught it and immediately used it to stab the diadem. As the fang hit the diadem, black smokes came out of it sending me backwards. Ron rushed over and kicked it into the room of requirements. As the diadem hit the flames it caused an explosion creating three Voldemort heads that rushed towards us just before the door closed on it. By the time I caught my breath and looked around, Draco and Blaise were already gone and Harry was on the floor staring into nothing, inside Voldemort's mind. Each time he figured out what the horcruxes were, he went inside Voldemort's mind. With now one last unknown horcrux left, we could use it to our advantage.

"...It's the snake. She's the last one. It's the last Horcrux," he said.

"Harry, look inside his mind. Maybe you can see where the last horcrux is," I said kneeling down in front of him and placing a hand on his arm. He stared into my eyes for a moment before his pupils began dilating noticeably and looked like he was staring into nothing again. Hermione and Ron joined my side and knelt down in front of him waiting patiently to know what to do next. Harry's breaths slowly started becoming more steady until he just looked completely blank.

"I know where he is," he said catching his breath slowly.

"Let's hurry. We're running out of time," I said getting up and helping Harry up as well. As soon as he stood on his feet, he began running down the corridors past all the destruction. Hermione, Ron, and I too ran behind him.

We ran out the courtyard fighting our way past all the death eaters where the main battle was happening with all the magical creatures. A troll noticed our presence and walked towards us preparing to attack. We all quickly ran over hiding behind a bell dodging it's swing at us. We didn't stop there and just continued running. Past the gigantic spiders, past the trolls, and past the death eaters and into the corridors. There Lavender was fighting Fenrir all by herself and she was clearly out skilled by him.

"Incarcerous!" I shot the spell creating a thin rope around Fenrir's neck jumping by Lavender's side.

"Thank you," she said in the urge of tears.

"Run. Get out of here," I said pushing her towards the way we'd come from.

"Expelliarmus!"

"Protego!" I quickly rebounded the spell before it hit me. Two black clouds appeared in front of me materializing into Bellatrix and Apolline. Just seeing their faces brought back the traumatic memories from the Malfoy Manor.

"Hey sweetie," Apolline said smirking.

"Hey mom," a girl's voice said walking up behind me. I turned around to see Fleur with her wand in her hand ready to attack the two at any given moment. "Long time no see."

The four of us quickly broke into battle. Bellatrix dueled me while Fleur dueled Apolline. Harry, Hermione, and Ron quickly ran up to aid us though Bellatrix and Apolline was able to take us all.

"Harry, go. Kill the snake. we've got it," I said while deflecting the cursed Bellatrix was shooting at me.

"No, we can take them together."

"No we don't have time Harry. Trust me. I've got it."

"Evelyn--"

"JUST GO!"

He didn't say anything and slowly backed away. I walked in between Bellatrix and Harry deflecting her curses allowing him, Hermione, and Ron to back away. I didn't look back to see if they were gone. I could only tell they were no longer here by the sounds of their footsteps fading away. I need to start getting used to my life without Harry-- if I'll ever be brave enough to have one.

Time was truly running out. For everyone and everything. Time for Hogwarts running out, time it takes to destroy horcruxes without Voldemort killing us was running out, time for Harry and I were running out. The mere thought of it blurred my vision with tears until each spell I deflected I groaned out with tears rolling down my cheeks. The anger and sadness mixed together allowing me to cast offensive spells faster and stronger making Bellatrix the one having to deflect spells repeatedly.

"Incarcerous!" I casted the spell I was most confident at her catching her off guard. The thin rope quickly wrapped around her neck causing her to choke, falling to her knees.

"Crucio!" Apolline shot a spell and quickly immense amount of pain rushed through my body causing me to drop on my knees. I screamed in pain losing focus, the thin rope around Bellatrix's neck disappearing and freeing her.

"Avada--"

"Stupefy!" Fleur shot a spell at Apolline before she could cast the killing curse knocking her backwards. The cruciatus curse was soon lifted allowing me to be able to move again. With the last bit of strength I had, I took out the silver dagger from my pocket and threw it at Bellatrix, hitting her on the stomach.

"Feels like shit doesn't it?" I muttered out of breath watching her drop to the ground gasping. Even though the cruciatus curse was lifted, the pain in my stomach stayed. It felt as if the curse was still affecting my body but only focusing on my stomach.

"Evelyn, Evelyn, are you alright?" Fleur said rushing over kneeling in front of me.

"My stomach--" I said feeling immense pain in my stomach still. Fleur quickly lifted my shirt revealing a clean bandage. It wasn't the stab wound that was causing the pain. The pain was internal.

"No--" I managed to let out a single word in shock. Only one thing could be causing this much internal pain. I lost it.
