'Ministry Disappearances Continue'

Voldemort has been on the move attacking anyone at the ministry who stand for muggle rights. The missing list grows as days goes by. These events happen leaving no evidences behind. Seeing how easy it is for Voldemort to get to them, it could be any moment until he comes for Harry again.

"It's so easy for them to get to you, you're bloody lucky you weren't killed," Hermione muttered reading the daily prophet while walking down the busy corridors, "You have to realize who you are Harry-"

"I know who I am Hermione alright?" Harry said slightly annoyed, "...Sorry."

Around the corner of the corridors, Ron and Lavender were sitting down on the window seat. Lavender was giggling while putting a shiny heart locker around Ron's neck with a big smile. Ron on the other hand had a forced one as if he didn't want to be in his current situation. Their relationship was definitely a one-sided one.

"Of course I'll wear it," Ron said forcing another smile. The smile was so fake it hurt to watch.

"That's my Won Won!" Lavender squealed clinging onto his arm.

"Excuse me I have to go and vomit," Hermione muttered walking away.

"Well, where are you headed to?" I asked Harry clearing my throat.

"To Dumbledore, he wanted to show me something."

"Really?" I paused for a second. I couldn't tell Dumbledore about Draco because of Snape and him going away, now would be a good time. "Can I come with you?"

"Er- I don't know, he said to come alone."

"I just need to talk to him real quick. I'll wait outside if I have to."

"Alright, let's go," He said holding my hand and walking past the busy corridors. We were getting a couple of stares. Considering how fast everything is spread around Hogwarts, by tomorrow everyone would know the chosen one has a girlfriend. I'm proud of it, let them see.

Once we reached Dumbledore's office, the corridors were almost all cleared out. I was getting nervous, I'm not sure if this is the right thing to do. If I do tell Dumbledore, Draco would never want to see me again. While doing that though, I'd be potentially saving a lot of lives.

"Sherbet Lemon" Harry said and with that, the gargoyle statue stepped aside to reveal a circular stone staircase. We stepped inside and headed up the stone staircase and entered Dumbledore's office.

"Ah, Harry. I see you brought a friend," He said getting up from his seat walking towards us.

"I wanted to have a talk with you, I hope you don't mind sir," I said trying to keep calm.

"No, not at all. First order of business, follow me Harry," He replied walking over to some sort of a metal basin. It contained a glowing liquid with white string like things floating on it. Harry walked over without hesitating and dipped his head inside the metal basin.

"That Evelyn, is a Pensieve. One simply siphons the excess thoughts from one's mind, pours them into the basin, and examine them at one's leisure. It becomes easier to spot patterns and links, you understand, when they are in this form," Dumbledore said placing a hand on Harry's shoulders.

"Can he not hear us?" I asked walking over and examining the Pensieve. Harry was still, he wasn't moving at all. Probably looking at a specific memory Dumbledore had prepared him.

"No, he can't hear or feel us."

"What memory is he seeing?"

"A fake memory from Professor Slughorn."

"I see," I said looking away from the Pensive. That's probably why Dumbledore wants Harry to be friends with Slughorn, to get whatever the real memory is.

"Professor Dumbledore, the person who cursed Katie Bell- That was Draco. You have to help him, he's-"

"Evelyn," He interrupted me to my surprise, "Some things in life must happen."

"I'm not sure if I understand sir. You mean you know that Draco has been plotting to kill you?"

"Yes."

"Why haven't you done anything about it? He's just a boy."

"Who else knows about this?"

"Only Harry and I sir."

"You must keep it that way, this is not just for your own safety but for possibly thousands of other students."

"But what about Draco?"

I never got to receive an answer as Harry stood back up straight gasping for air. He eyed the two of us strangely catching his breath. I looked away crossing my arms frustrated, I thought Dumbledore would do something about it- help Draco. Instead this whole time, he knew, he knew but he didn't do anything.

"Confused?" Dumbledore asked looking at Harry, "I'd be surprised if you weren't."

"I don't understand, what happened?" Harry asked.

"This is perhaps the most important memory that I have collected. It is also a lie. This memory has been tampered with, by the same person whose memory this is, our own friend Professor Slughorn."

"But why would he tamper with his own memory?"

"I suspect he's ashamed of himself."

"Why?"

"Why indeed. I asked you to get to know Professor Slughorn and you have done so. I want you to persuade him to give you his true memory anyway you can."

"I don't know him that well sir."

"This memory is everything-" Dumbledore said dipping his hand into the foggy white liquid, "Without it we are blind. Without it we leave the fate of our world to chance. You have no choice, you must not fail,"

"We should get going sir, sorry to bother you," I said quickly grabbing Harry and walking out. Of course, he wants Harry to do it. Out of everyone he could ask- it had to be Harry, just because he's the chosen one. He couldn't just ask Professor Slughorn himself since he's so wise and knows everything.

"Evelyn- Are you alright?" Harry asked just as we made our way down the staircase.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Aren't you going to talk with Professor Dumbledore?"

"Already did."

"How'd it go?"

"Left me with even more questions than I started. Where're you headed right now?"

"Probably to Professor Slughorn. What about you?"

"Back to the common room."

"Alright, I'll walk you there"

"No, it's fine. Slughorn's classes are ending soon, you should get going," I said not turning back at him and walking away. It's not that he had upset me, I just wasn't in a bad mood. No one will just tell me what is happening.

Once I was sure I was deep into the corridors away from Harry's vision, I made a left walking towards the Astronomy tower. I still had to apologize to Draco for being a complete bitch- and of course I still need answers.

The blonde boy was standing on the balcony once again staring into the distance. He had a very sad vibe to him and didn't even notice me entering the tower. I walked closer slowly but he still didn't turn back lost in his own thoughts. It's times like these we need someone to rely on.

"Draco," I said clearing my throat.

"What are you doing here? I'm sure you don't want to be around a death eater do you?" He spat turning back at me. His saddened expression from before noticing I was here quickly turned into one filled with anger and betrayal.

"I wanted to say-" I paused before speaking, "I'm sorry for saying those things at Slughron's Party. I was sort of drunk and I didn't know what I was thinking-"

"Yeah right. I trusted you Clermont, told you something while risking my own life and you go and try to snitch?" He spat once again.

"Well what was I supposed to do?"

"Do what I told you to do and not tell anyone about it."

"Oh yeah, you're trying to kill Dumbledore and I'm just supposed to sit here and watch? Why did you even show the dark mark to me in the first place if it was really something I shouldn't know?"

He didn't reply, only looked away.

"Look, I came here to apologize. I also just wanted to say- it's times like this we need someone to reply on. That's why I came back here tonight but I guess I'll just go," I muttered sighing before walking out of the tower.

It took all my effort to not call out for her and ask for her to stay. I wish I could tell you, but how could I ever say your life is in danger because of me?

I remember what she told me, she'd die for someone but I'd kill for someone. I'd kill for her- The dark lord knew that too. If I tell her this, she'd die for Dumbledore- for Harry's sake even. I tried to show that I wasn't trying to kill Dumbledore out of pure anger about something by showing her the dark mark. I don't have a choice, I have to do this.

Because even though you'll hate me for this, I'm doing this for you. Because even though you don't like me, I still do. Always.
