《Elegance | Harry Potter》Year 5-12 | Sirius Black

Draco sat down across from me inside the Three Broomsticks. The store was empty aside from the employees. This would probably be because of the escapees from azkaban creating fear in a lot of people. It was still a warm and cozy place that smelled strongly of butterbeer.
"Would you two like anything?" A waitress came over asking us.
"Two butterbeer" Draco mumbled and the waitress nodded with a smile and walked away towards the kitchen.
"What did you want to talk to me about?" I asked.
"The Dark Lord is after everyone Potter cares for, Sirius Black is in danger. He learned Harry and his mind are.. connected" He leaned in closer whispering.
"That's crazy.. How did he know?"
"I don't know a lot but Kreacher showed up to our manor a day after Christmas"
"Kreacher?"
"Black family's house elf"
I remembered the strange looking house elf who would always mutter things when Harry Hermione and Ron would pass by. The last time I saw it was in a room with Harry before Sirius yelled at it telling it to get out. It must've thought Sirius meant get out of the house and went to the last members of the black family he respected, Narcissa and Bellatrix.
"Did Kreacher say anything else?" I asked whispering back.
"No, just about Sirius"
"What does.. you-know-who want?"
"A prophecy of some sort"
"Prophecy?"
He nodded, "I don't know too much Evelyn, I'm telling you all I know"
"Alright.. But why are you telling me all of this? I thought you didn't like Harry"
"Because it's the right thing to do" He whispered. Before I could say anything the waitress came out with the butterbeers. Draco and I quickly sat up straight on our seats as the waitress placed the butterbeer down in front of us.
"Thank you" I said with a smile to the waitress. The waitress smiled back before walking away back into the kitchen. Draco and I took a quick sip of the butterbeer. I furrowed my eyebrows a little because of how sweet it was but it was still good.
"Well anyway what's the deal with Marietta and Cho? I know Marietta snitched but Cho?"
"Marietta did the talking, Cho was just with her" He spat their names with disgust, "I hate snitches"
"Well I guess you won, you caught us"
"I warned you" He scoffed taking another sip of his butter bear.
"Shove off. Technically we don't know who's smarter. If it weren't for Marietta and Cho, Umbridge wouldn't have found out"
"Yeah right, believe what you want Clermont" He spat.
"It's the truth Malfoy" I said taking another sip of my butter beer.
"You've got cream around your lips" He said pointing around his lips. My face heated up a little in embarrassment and quickly wiped off the whipped cream off with a napkin.

"If I were you I would stay away from Potter" He coughed slightly before speaking.
"Why is that?"
"The dark lord is extremely cunning. He could use you to get what he wants from Potter"
I paused for a moment, I also thought about this before. "Thanks for looking out for my Draco, but I can take care of myself"
"Whatever you say Clermont" He said sighing resting his back on his seat.

When I returned from Hogsmeade back to Hogwarts it was already night time just before curfew. The corridors were empty and Draco and I parted as we entered the castle. He didn't want to be seen with a Gryffindor by too many people.
I turned a corner and saw the Weasley twins and a little boy. The little boy's whimpering echoed through the corridors and the Weasley twins seemed to be trying to comfort him. I slowly walked towards the three and knelt in front of the crying boy. He seemed to be maybe in his first year or second.
"What's your name" I asked reaching out and placing my hand on his shoulders.
"Michael"
"Well Michael, your hands going to be fine" Fred whispered from his side.
"Yeah it's not as bad as it seems- look, it's fading already" George motioned towards Michael's hands. On the back of his hands there were letters carved on his skin. This was Umbridge's doing.
"You can hardly see it anymore, and the pain stops after a while" I said showing him the back of my hand. The Weasley twins furrowed their eyebrows barely being able to look at it. I don't blame them, it was completely ruined. I turned to see Harry who slowly walked towards the three of us. His shirt was a little stretched out like someone had pulled it. He had his usual blank expression as he walked towards us.
"Ahem" An annoying high pitched cough came from the other end of the corridor gaining all of our attention. Umbridge was standing in her pink night robes smiling at us.
"As I told you once Mr. Potter, naughty children deserved to be punished" She said smiling and walked away.
"You know George-" Fred got up standing beside Harry as George followed, "I've always thought our future lay outside the world of academic achievement"
"Fred, I've been thinking exactly the same thing" The two smiled at each other then at Harry and I before walking off.
"What house are you in?" I asked Michael who calmed down a little.
"Ravenclaw"
"That's on the way to our common room. Come, I'll walk you there" I smiled grabbing his hand. He nodded slightly and the two of us stood up.
"Coming?" I asked Harry. He nodded slightly and walked beside us toward the moving staircases.
At the very entrance of the moving staircases, Michael parted with Harry and I going the opposite way. Harry and I walked up the moving stairs towards the Gryffindor common room in silence, an uncomfortable one.

"Where were you today? Hagrid was wondering where you were and Hermione Ron and I were getting worried too" Harry spoke breaking the silence.
"Just.. With a friend"
"Malfoy? I saw him walk inside the great hall"
I paused for a second, "..Yes".
"What were you two talking about?"
"You know, O.W.Ls.. Umbridge"
"Why do you talk to him? I mean he's Malfoy"
"There's more to a person's story than you know"
"What could possibly be likable about Malfoy? There's no story behind him, he's just a bad person"
"Harry-" I was getting frustrated. Draco was warning me about Sirius Black, helping Harry indirectly. "I'm not really in the mood to discuss whether Draco is a good person or not"
"Right.. Sorry"
"It's alright" I sighed. The two of us fell into silence again, an extremely uncomfortable and awkward one. The silence continued until we reached the common room where the Fat Lady opened the door for us.
"Goodnight Harry" I smiled a bit before rushing up the stairs into the girl's dormitories.
***
Every 5th year students sat in the great hall taking their O.W.L Exams on theory of charms. It had been an hour since the exam had started. So far the questions weren't that hard, it was just a bunch of memorizing you had to do. From in front of me I could tell Ron had given up, he was still on his second question.
I wrote a lot for each of the questions thanks to Hermione constantly telling me to study. My quill and her's didn't stop writing until there was a loud bang on the entrance of the great hall. I stopped writing and looked towards where the sound had come from and so did a lot of the students.
Another bang echoed through the great hall much louder this time. Umbridge made her way down the middle towards the door with an annoyed face.
"Do you mind if I see your paper?" Ron whispered to me as Umbridge walked by. I nodded and pushed my paper towards him not looking away from the door and the great hall started to fill with whispers.
When Umbridge opened the door a small spark of fire brushed past her face exploding into blue fireworks inside the great hall. There was silence until suddenly the Weasley twins came flying inside on their brooms making our exam papers fly into the air throwing fireworks in the air.
The students all got out of their seats to admire the fireworks. I too got up and stood beside Harry Hermione and Ron when tiny little fireworks sparked in front of our face. I felt a smile form on my face though Umbridge looked around frantically. A small spark of fire even started to chase Draco before exploding into the wall marking Draco's panicked face on it.
"Ready when you are!" The Weasley twins threw another firework which exploded to take form of a dragon. The dragon roared and started to chase Umbridge who shrieked running out of the great hall frantically. Once the dragon and Umbridge got out of the hall, the dragon exploded into tiny sparks of fire breaking all the frames with rules that hung outside the great hall.
Followed by the Weasley twins, all the students including Harry Ron Hermione and I ran out of the hall and onto the field cheering the two. The twins set off one more firework which took the shape of their initial, 'W'. I clapped and cheered for the twins along with everyone else, even Professor Flitwick.
I turned around smiling to see Harry but he wasn't smiling. He instead collapsed onto the floor, his eyes losing focus. The smile on my face quickly faded and rushed passed the students kneeling in front of Harry.
"Harry" I called out placing my hand on his shoulders.
"Sirius" He said, his breath getting uneasy.
"What?" I asked as Hermione and Ron knelt beside me.
"We need to go get Sirius, Voldemort is torturing him to get something" He said quickly getting up brushing past the students into the corridors. Ron Hermione and I looked at each other confused before running after him.
"Harry are you sure?" Hermione asked as we ran closely behind him on the moving stairs.
"I saw it, it's just like Mr. Weasley. It's the same door I've been dreaming about for months and I couldn't remember where I've seen it before. Sirius said Voldemort was after something, something he didn't have the last time. And it's in the department of the mystery"
The prophecy, that's what Draco told me today. you-know-who was after a prophecy inside the department of mystery. If you-know-who knows his mind and Harry's are connected then this could easily be fake; something he wanted Harry to see.
"Harry please just listen, what is he meant for you to see this? He's only hurting Sirius because he's trying to get to you" Hermione said.
"Or what if Sirius isn't there, what if Sirius is still with the order safe?" I added on.
"What if he is? I'm supposed to just let him die? He's the only family I've got left"
I paused and didn't say anything. I looked at Hermione and Ron confused before looking back up at Harry.
"What do we do?" Ron asked.
