《Elegance | Harry Potter》Year 5-8 | Dumbledore's Army (4)

I walked up to the Astronomy tower in hopes to find a certain blonde hair boy. Surely enough Draco was leaning against the balcony watching the stars as always. He had an unusual saddened face, he rested his head on his hand staring into the distance.
"What's on your mind Draco?" I asked leaning beside him.
"Piss off Evelyn" He scoffed not looking at me.
"No seriously, tell me. You and I are both in a very similar situation don't you think? I'll understand you"
He paused for a second looking at me then looking away. "I don't want to go home for Christmas. I'm afraid the dark lord would be sitting across me. Staring at me with his snake like eyes" He said taking a deep breath. I didn't exactly know what to say, he couldn't just not go home and run away.
"What if.. What if I become just like my father? Become a death eater?" He said breaking the silence. It was a question that I had myself too, what if I become like my mother. Just like Barty Crouch Jr had said, what if I'm just like my mother.
"I know you'll do the right thing Draco" I said very quietly, "I know we'll both do the right thing"
"What is the right thing Evelyn?"
"I don't know.. Time will tell. Thanks for um.. Telling me this" I said smiling a little. He had told me something he probably hasn't told anyone and that does make me happy. He knows everything about me, I know everything about him. It felt good knowing someone was in a similar situation with me and how we could both trust each other for it.
"Also what you said to Neville was totally unnecessary" I said furrowing my eyebrows turning to face him.
"He deserved it"
"Draco!"
"What? It's the truth"
I sighed shaking my head. I wasn't going to change this boy with a blink of an eye. It took him time to open up to me and it's going to take a whole lot more to change him as a person, if he does that is.
"I don't understand why you try to be someone that you're not" I said looking away.
"You're talking," He scoffed, "You try to be the elegant part veela girl everyone expects you to be when really you don't like it"

I paused for a moment, I don't like being elegant, he was right. I want to go cheer Harry in his quidditch games, yell his name, scream whenever he catches the golden snitch. I want to hex Zacharias, I want to yell at people for being a total scum to me but I can't.
"We're both just like our parents even if you don't want to admit it" He muttered under his breath.
"I guess you're right" I sighed. The two of us fell into complete silence and watched the stars again. There's a reason Draco comes here often, he has a lot on his mind that he wishes he could clear up but can't. After all he was just like his father, I am just like my mother.

"ALL STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS ARE HENCEFORTH DISBANDED. ANY STUDENT IN NONCOMPLIANCE WILL BE EXPELLED"
Another frame with another rule hung up on the wall outside the great hall. Umbridge had caught on already, all she needs is proof that the DA exists. Nonetheless the numbers on the edge of the fake galleon changed indicating the second meeting of the DA.
"Stunning is one of the most useful spells in your arsenal. It's sort of a Wizard's bread and butter really" Harry said walking down the middle as the students lined up on each side and I stood across from him on the opposite side of the room.
"Come on then Evelyn, give me your best shot" He turned to face me from the other side. I sighed pointing my wand at him. I strongly disagreed to perform the stunning spell on him but I was the only one that knew how to do it aside from Harry.
"Stupefy!" The spell hit him directly and he went flying backwards falling on his back. I bit my lips sighing worried, there was a reason I didn't want to do this. Especially on Harry.
"Good, that's how you're supposed to do it" He groaned pulling himself back up.
"Uh.. Let's have a pair try it on each other. How about Ron and Hermione?" Harry got up on his feet looking at Ron then at Hermione. The two made their way up to the middle, Hermione by Harry's side and Ron by mine.

"Come on Ron" A few of the boys cheered him up. I walked towards the Weasley twins clearing the stage in case Ron went flying backwards.
"One sickle?" Fred whispered to me.
"One sickle on Hermione" I whispered back.
"You're up"
The two raised their wands at each other staring. Ron pointed his wand directly at Hermione and opened his mouth to say the spell but Hermione was quicker.
"Stupefy!" Her spell hit Ron directly sending him flying backwards. At the same time, Fred pulled out a sickle from his pocket and shoved it into my hand.
"Thank you" I mocked.
"Shut up"
"I let her do that, it's good manners isn't it" Ron came up to the Weasley twins and I furrowing his eyebrows. "Completely.. Intentional"
"Oh yeah totally" I laughed.
"When did you learn how use this spell?" Ron asked. I paused before responding, how exactly was I supposed to tell him I used it on his sister so she wouldn't have a giant snake come kill me.
"I read it from a book" I smiled at him. I wonder if Ginny remembers anything that had happened in that library. I know she remembers the things she had done but not how she did them.
The rest of the DA meeting went by with students trying to learn the stunning spell. A couple were successful, some weren't. Neville was one of those who weren't successful, he had very discouraged look on his face.
"Alright that's all for today, make sure to keep an eye on the galleon. Great job today" Harry said as all the students walked out of the room smiling and chatting about the lesson today. I walked over to the corner of the room towards a mirror. On the mirror were couple of pictures, one of the original order of the phoenix and one of Cedric from the tri-wizard tournament.
"Hey idiot" I whispered staring at the photo of Cedric. He was smiling in the photo, all excited to win the first task. How he would tell me with such a big smile that he was going to win the tournament, get the eternal glory.
"I told you so" I whispered again crossing my arms. Tears started to fill my eyes remembering his lifeless body teleport onto the field. How he walked into that maze thinking he was safe under the watch of Dumbledore. How I thought he was safe solely because hundreds of students were watching.
"You're such an idiot Cedric. You were supposed to take me to Hogsmeade after the tournament was over" A single tear fell down the side of my cheek as I whispered once again.
I heard footsteps approach me slowly and quickly wiped off the tear. I turned to face Harry who walked up beside me looking at the picture.
"Hi Harry" I greeted him with a quick smile.
"Hi Evelyn, you did really great today by the way. Thanks for helping out" He said turning to face me looking at me in the eyes.
"Of course, anything for-" I paused for a second, "for a friend". I quickly looked away towards the floor feeling a little sad.
"Are you alright?" He asked. I looked back up at him with tears in my eyes but I didn't dare let one fall.
"Why wouldn't I be?" I smiled at him. He looked at me without saying anything. Silence quickly filled the room. Another tear fell down from my eyes and I quickly turned around looking away from him. He grabbed my arm and turned me back around to face him placing a hand on my face wiping my tear off.
"Sorry I-" Before I could finish my sentence, Harry pulled me close to him wrapping his arm around me.
"I miss them Harry, I miss Cedric and dad" I whispered into his shoulders.
"I know, I miss Cedric too"
I pulled back slowly not breaking eye contact. He grabbed my hand and slowly raised it tracing the scars on it. It was really hard to look at, the letters were overlapping over each other and it was red.
"It's ugly isn't it" I let out a soft laugh. He laughed too raising my hand higher gently kissing it.
"No, it's still nice" He smiled. The butterflies started to fly in my stomach and my face heated up.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.

Can he use magic, blade and wit to fight them off? Or will he be the one to fall instead? Follow Vreil on his adventures. Witness the dawn of an era. 🧙🧙🧙 This is a story I'd written a few years back, and I figured it's a waste to just let it sit around. Most of it is already written, but I'm going through the chapters and editing the shit out of them. This story is NOT a Lit-RPG, so no blue screens or anything of the sort. It is just fast-paced fiction with slight cultivation elements. Updates are bi-daily (so every 2 days), and chapters are 1500-3000 words. As always, feedback is more than welcome. Why are you still reading the synopsis? You have already decided. Go ahead, give this story a shot. It's worth it.
