《Elegance | Harry Potter》Grief

I woke up inside a big room, mainly decorated in black. On the side was my own private bathroom. I was in my pajamas and there was a cup of tea on the bed side. The door crept open and my eyes shot up to look at who had entered.

"You're awake" Ron came in carrying a tray of food, "Hermione's coming soon, you should eat some food. Mom made these for you" He sat down on the bed as I sat up straight slowly. I felt numb, I felt nothing. Everything felt unreal, like outside Cedric and dad would greet me with a huge smile on their face.

"Here-" Ron picked up a piece of bread and handed it to me. I slowly lifted my hand up to take the bread and bit down on it. A smile formed on Ron's face as I started to chew. I felt the food in my mouth, the taste of it, the slight bit of butter spread on it. I felt something, soon a very strange feeling took over me. Grief. Cedric's lifeless eyes meeting mine and Dad's lifeless body flying beside me. He who must not be named looking at me in the eye, his grin, his voice. I gagged and quickly got out of bed running to the bathroom hurdled up over the toilet throwing up. Ron quickly followed and held my hair patting my back as I continued.

I flushed down the toilet resting my back against the wall and started to cry. I started to feel everything again, a pain in my head, my heart throbbing, my skin crawling. Ron helped me up on my feet and brought me back on to the bed. There I cried into Ron's shoulders for what felt like forever.

Professor Moody tapped his staff on the ground three times and a house started to appear in between two houses. This must be the headquarters Tonks was talking about. I followed Professor Moody inside the house, mainly decorated in black. At the very end of the hallway there were many chatters, angry chatters. It was a very antique place, there were webs everywhere. I followed Profesor Moody into the room that was filled with chatters. Behind him I met eyes with Sirius Black.

"Harry" Mrs. Weasley stood between Sirius and I giving me a huge smile closing the door behind her.

"Mrs. Weasley" I called out in delight.

"Thank goodness you're alright," She walked towards be giving me a big hug, "bit peaky but I'm afraid dinner will have to wait after the meeting. No time to explain, straight upstairs, first door on the left" She motioned at the stairs.

I walked up the stairs past a strange house elf who only glared at me and carefully opened the door to the room Mrs. Weasley had told me to go to.

"Harry!" Hermione rushed out pulling me into a hug make me jump a little. Behind her Ron came around giving me a quick wave.

"Are you alright? We heard them talking about the dementor attack. You must tell us everything"

"Let the man breathe Hermione"

"And the hearing at the ministry.. It's just outrageous! I've looked it up they simply can't expel you. It's completely unfair!"

My face stiffened remembering the dementors that attacked Dudley and I. I only performed the patronus spell to save ourselves, what else was I supposed to do?

"There's a lot going on at the moment" Ron muttered as Hermione nudged him.

"So what is this place?" I asked walking around this very antique room decorated in black.

"Headquarters, Order of the Phoenix. It's a secret society. Dumbledore found it to battle against you know who" Hermione's answered. A sudden feeling of annoyance took over me, why was I just finding all this out?

"You couldn't write all those in a letter I suppose, gone all summer without a scrap of news" I said sarcastically a little offended.

"We wanted to write mate, really we did.. only-"

"Only what?" I interrupted him impatiently.

"Only Dumbledore had told us not to tell you anything" Hermione said.

"Dumbledore said that? But why would he want to keep me in the dark? Maybe I could help? After all I'm the one who fought Voldemort I'm the one who saw Cedric Diggory get killed"

The two of them didn't reply and just stared at each other in silence. I noticed I was getting very short tempered lately, frustrated easily. My nerves were strange, I couldn't rest easy or sleep easily remembering Cedric die in front of my eyes. I really needed comforting, I really needed Evelyn.

"Where's Evelyn?" I asked. The two looked at each other puzzled.

"Like I said, there's a lot going on at the moment" Ron said almost as a whisper.

"When Evelyn's mother took her with her, she was taken somewhere where she met you know who. He wanted Fleur to carry his heir since she was the most healthiest but with her gone, Evelyn will carry his heir once she becomes a legal adult" Hermione explained looking at me sympathetically. My heart dropped hearing that, I didn't know how to react.

"That's not all-" Ron took a deep breath in, "Her dad was killed by her mother trying to get Evelyn to come here"

I paused for a second just looking at Hermione and Ron. She had been through two deaths in such a short period of time not to forget her encounter with Voldemort.

"Is she here right now?" I asked breaking the silence.

Ron slowly nodded, "She hasn't eaten anything in days or come out of her room"

"Maybe you could get through to her" Hermione said quietly looking at me sympathetically.

"Evelyn," There were quite knocks on the door, "Harry's here" Hermione said carefully. The door crept open but I didn't look towards it. I only stared out into the night sky feeling numb once again.

"Evelyn" Harry walked towards me sitting beside me on my bed. I turned to face him, his green eyes meeting mine. He was definitely looking a lot more peaky, like he hadn't eaten too much. He was holding a bowl of soup in his hands, one I didn't eat for lunch. It was still hot, fascinating what magic can do.

"Hi Harry" I said in a mere whisper, "I heard about the dementor attack, I'm sorry that happened" He didn't reply, only looked at the ground before looking at me again.

"Have you eaten yet?" He asked breaking the silence. Have I eaten anything, of course not. Any time I would eat something I would feel something. Every time I felt something the unbearable feeling of grief would rush over me. I didn't reply, just stared at him in his eyes. His eyes, beautiful green ones, it was comforting me.

"You should try some of this, smells delicious" He says as he scooped up some soup on his spoon and held it in front of my lips. I pause for a second before I ate the soup. It was still hot, but not burning hot. The taste of warm pumpkin filled my mouth as I swallowed it. I felt the warm liquid go down my throat, I was feeling something. I started to feel the immense amount of grief that came with the warm feeling and started to cry.

"It's really good" I said in between my cries. I covered my mouth with my hand to not make any noise trying to hold my breath. Harry placed the bowl of soup down on my bed stand and pulled me close wrapping his arms around my back. He rested his head on my shoulder while I cried into his.

"Mrs. Weasley prepared us more food for dinner if you want to come and join us" He said almost whispering. He pat my back and I nodded into his shoulders, I felt safe with him. I felt a lot of emotions, grief being one of them of course, but I felt love. Love of a friend or even love of a special person.

He pulled back resting his hands on my shoulders. I looked up to face him with tears in my eyes. He wiped away a tear on my cheek before getting up and giving me a hand. I placed my hand in his and he led me downstairs to the dining room.

"Harry Potter" Sirius came out of the dining hall to greet the two of us. He looked at me sympathetically, a little surprised I came downstairs probably.

"Sirius" Harry walked up to him to hug him. From besides Sirius, Mrs. Weasley came out and looked at me with a big smile.

"Evelyn dear! Come come we have a lot of food prepared" She grabbed my hand with a smile pulling me inside the dining room. The Weasley twins, Ginny, Hermione, Ron and a lot of others turned to look at me. I slowly sat beside Hermione as Harry sat to my right.

"Come on dear, eat up" Mrs. Weasley brought me a bowl of soup with some bread and poured a glass of pumpkin juice. She placed her hand on my back and giving me another smile. She took care of me for the last few days, continued to bring me food everyday, always checked in on me, treated me like a second daughter.

"Thank you Mrs. Weasley" I said in a mere whisper picking up some soup and drinking it. Everyone watched in silence until Sirius coughed and others started to eat and started to chatter. Hermione placed a hand on my shoulder and sighed before starting to eat again.

"I don't understand, what does the Ministry of Magic want with me?" The chatters stopped once again and everyone looked at Harry.

"Show him, he'll find out soon enough" The real Mad-eye Moody said standing in the corner of the room. A man named Kingsley, a good friend of my dad, handed Harry a Daily Prophet. 'The Boy Who Lies' A picture of Harry from the tri-wizard tournament was on the very front page.

"Fudge has been attacking Dumbledore as well. He has been using the Daily Prophet to disregard anyone who claims that the dark lord has returned" Sirius said sitting across from Harry.

"Why?" Harry asked.

"He thinks Dumbledore's after his job" Profesor Lupin replied.

"But that's insane no one in their right mind would believe that Dumbledore-"

"Exactly the point, Fudge isn't in his right mind. He's been twisted in fear, now fear makes people do terrible things. Now last time Voldemort gained power he almost destroyed everything we hold most dear. Now that he has returned I'm afraid the minister would do almost everything to avoid messing with the terrifying truth"

"We think that Voldemort wants to build out his army again. 14 years ago he had huge numbers at his command not just witches and wizards, but all dark creatures" Sirius said. I remembered seeing him and his followers, one of them being my mother. I wouldn't be able to tell them about anyone that had been there at the Malfoy Manor. Sirius's words started to drown out and I started to be trapped in my own thoughts. The feeling of his presence, his tone carefully digging into my mind. I started to shake, Hermione grabbed my hand tight but I couldn't help it. Profesor Moody let out a cough noticing me nudging Sirius.

"We believe... Voldemort might be after something" I shivered at his name once again, "...Something he didn't have last time"

"You mean, like a weapon?-"

"No, that's enough. He's just a boy" Mrs. Weasley came stomping around placing one hand on Harry's shoulder and the other on mine, "You say much more and he might as well want to join the order"

"Good I want to join, if Voldemort's raising an army then I want to fight" Harry yelled out as Sirius clapped once and winked at him. I stood up out of my seat drawing everyone's attention to me. The name itself brought back terrible memories and I couldn't stand it any longer.

"Thank you for the food Mrs. Weasley" I said before walking up to my room. I laid in bed staring into the ceiling in hopes to fall asleep. If I fall asleep all of this would be done, I wouldn't feel fear anymore.

"Avada Kedavra!" A green light came out of mother's wand hitting dad sending his body flying beside me.

My eyes jolted open and I jumped awake from sleep. I buried my head into my hands and started to shake when someone knocked on the door and opened it.

"Are you alright? I heard some noises" Harry asked carefully walking in. I nodded catching my breath as he sat down beside me on the bed.

"Bad dreams?" He asked to which I nodded.

"Please don't leave" I said clenching on to his shirt. He nodded slowly wrapping his arm around me and laying down.

"Thank you" I whispered laying down closing my eyes once again with Harry's arms wrapped right around me.

I couldn't sleep though, I laid there for about an hour afraid to fall back asleep. Afraid I would have to relive the experience again. I opened my eyes to see Harry's face inches away from mine sleeping. How I feel so safe around his arms, how his presence itself is all it takes to calm me.

"Harry?" I whispered to see if he was still awake. "Harry," I whispered again, "Thank you again, for everything. Only if you knew how much you mean to me."

I turned around to try and all asleep when I was turned back by Harry, he was still awake. He cupped my face with his hands and kissed me as I kissed him back.
