《Elegance | Harry Potter》Year 4-5 | Friendship

I haven't seen Harry all day today, nor Fleur or Cedric. The four champions of the Tri-Wizard tournament were busy taking interviews and photos for the Daily Prophet. Rita Skeeter, I hated that woman, wrote some nasty things about me before. Dinner was just completely awkward, no one said a word. Hermione was eyeing Ron while reading who was picking on his food unlike usual. She stopped talking to me often and when I would come back to the dormitories she would already be asleep. Everything was just awkward. Ron had stopped talking to Harry unless it was to fight him and honestly I could tell it was tiring Hermione.
After dinner as usual Ron and Hermione went upstairs as soon as they entered the common room. Harry still hadn't returned yet so I decided to just lay in the couch in front of the fireplace waiting for him to come back. I waited for about half an hour before I fell asleep.
"Evelyn?" My eyes slowly opened. In front of me was Harry knelt besides the couch I had fallen asleep in, "Have you been waiting for me?"
"Yes of course, what time is it?"
"11" It was already an hour past curfew. Merlin's beard he came back extremely late.
"How was the interview?"
"Terrible, the Rita Skeeter woman is horrifying. This is the second interview and I still can't get used to it"
"Tell me about it" I said rubbing my eyes and sitting up on the couch. On top of the table was the Daily Prophet, in the front cover were a picture of the four champions. Their interview from yesterday had already been published.
"Eyes glistening with the ghost of your past?" I read the section of Daily Prophet about Harry. He quickly snatched the newspaper away from my hands crumbling it and throwing it at the fireplace.
"Pst"
We both snapped our heads and looked at the fireplace where the noise had come from. I quickly got up and slowly started to walk towards it as Harry followed.
"PSST!"
The fireplace made another noise as we stood over it. Shortly after a face popped up from the fireplace, one that looked like Sirius Black. I jumped backwards a little with widened eyes.
"Sirius.. How-" I furrowed my eyebrows.
"Oh hi Evelyn, great to see you, but I don't have much time Harry so let me get straight to it. Did you or did you not put your name in the Goblet of Fire?"
"No!" Harry and I whisper shouted in unison as Sirius shushed us.

"I had to ask, now tell me about this dream. You mentioned Wormtail and Voldemort but who was the third man in the room?" So this was the dream Hermione was talking about in the train. Quite the wild dream.
"I don't know.. Voldemort's given him a job to do. Something important.. He wanted.. me. I don't know why but he was going to use his man to get to me. I mean it was only a dream" Voldemort is gone, he can't possibly be back! Unless that was the reason for the dark mark at the Quidditch World Cup. If so his dream may actually mean something, he had ordered his man to get close to him.
"Yes.. It is just a dream but Harry the dark mark at the Quidditch World Cup and your name being pulled out of the Goblet are not just coincidences. Hogwarts isn't safe anymore" Sirius whispered. I mean come on when is it ever safe at this point.
"What are you saying?" I whispered.
"I'm saying Igor Kakaroff was once a death eater. No one stops being a death eater. Barty Crouch is also dangerous, sent his own son to Azkaban"
Igor Kakaroff, Headmaster of Drumstrang was a death eater! He must be the one that put Harry's name in the Goblet of Fire, it only makes sense. The death eaters are HIS men and HE could've wanted Igor to get close to him...
"Do you think one of them put my name in the goblet?" Harry said frantically.
"I don't know who it is but they are a threat to you. People DIE in this tournament"
My heart sank. I was worried about this exact thing, what if one of my friends die, what if my sister dies?
"I'm not ready for this" Harry started to panic a little. I wrapped my hands around him squeezing his arms tight.
"You don't have a choice" Sirius whispered.
Harry and I quickly looked up towards the boys dormitories to see someone walking down.
"Someone's coming"
"Keep your friends close Harry!" Sirius whispered one last time before disappearing into the burning wood. From the staircase walked down Ron, again there was no usual goofiness in his face.
"Who were you two talking to?"
"We weren't talking to anyone" Harry replied.
"I heard more than two voices"
"Maybe your imagining things, wouldn't be the first time"
"You're probably just practicing for your next interview with your girlfriend I expect" Ron muttered as he made his way back up the stairs. My eyes widened at the sight of this, Hermione had told me Ron hated Harry right now but I would've never thought it would be this bad! Harry was about to say something but I quickly grabbed his arm shaking my head.

"Get some sleep Harry you had a long day"
"Thanks Evelyn, for everything"
I walked towards him and gave him a hug, "He'll come through" I said as I pulled away and walked up towards the girl's dormitories.

The next day Harry and I headed out to the lake with Neville who was busy examining different herbs under the water while Harry skimmed through a book of Herbology. Neville was really gifted in this subject, lucky him.
"Magical water plants of the highland Lochs?" He looked up from his book and at Neville.
"Moody gave it to me, a day after the lesson about the 3 unforgivable curses" He replied waving at someone. I turned back at where he was waving at and saw Ron Hermione and Ginny. Harry and I got up standing against the tree as Hermione walked up to us looking at me sympathetically.
"Ronald would like me to tell you that Seamus told him that... Dean was told by Pravati that.. Hagrid'a looking for you" Hermione said walking up towards Harry. I raised my eyebrows at Hermione as she furrowed hers looking at me.
"Is that right? Well-.. What?" Harry furrowed his eyebrows looking at Hermione confused.
"Uh-" She paused and walked towards Ron who whispered something in her ear before she walked back towards us, "Dean was- told by Pravati that... Please don't ask me again, Hagrid's looking for you and with your invisibility cloak" She turned back towards Ron and walked away.
"Well you can tell Ron-"
"I'm not an owl!" Hermione interrupted Harry mid sentence before turning back pulling Ginny with her. It took me a while to notice but she still had the matching necklace she had bought me on. A small smile cracked in my face as I felt my necklace knowing she just wasn't talking to me often because of Ron and Harry. I placed my hand on Harry's shoulder giving it a squeeze sending him a sympathetic look.

It was past curfew when Harry and I followed Hagrid into the forbidden forest. Hagrid looked different today though, a rose on his coat and his hair was even brushed out.
"Did you bring the cloak I asked you to?" He asked holding out a lamp leading us somewhere.
"Yeah, where are we going Hagrid?" Harry responded.
"You'll see soon enough. Pay attention this is important"
"What's with the flower? Hagrid you combed your hair?" Harry furrowed his eyebrows only now noticing Hagrid's change in appearance.
"So what if I have?" We stopped walking as a strange roar echoed through the forest. I swear I heard this roar before.
"Hagrid is that a-"
"Hagrid?" A women's voice called out for him in a weird English Accent interrupting me. A smile formed on his face as he motioned us to put on the cloak walking towards the voice. Harry pulled me close and pulled the cloak over us as we followed.
"Bonjur Madam!" Hagrid walked up. From the shadows I saw Headmistress of Beauxbatons appear. Was Hagrid and Headmistress- Merlin's beard things get crazier every second here at Hogwarts.
"Hagrid I thought you wouldn't come. I thought perhaps you have forgotten me"
"How could I forget you?" Hagrid said holding Headmistress's hands.
"I'm gonna gag" I whispered to Harry who laughed quietly.
"What is it that you wanted to show me? When we spoke earlier you sounded so.. excelled" Headmistress said playing with his beard.
"You'll be glad you came" Hagrid held her hand and walked towards a bush. He then cleared his view to reveal multiple cages followed with more roars, Dragons. Fire was coming out from the cages as the people around it struggled to keep the Dragons calm. I jumped a little and grabbed on to Harry's hand holding it tight. Dragons, dragons as the first task. This tournament was insane.
"Dragons, that's the first task Harry" I watched in fear as the dragons continued to breathe out fire, "That one, that's the Horntail-" I pointed at one of the cages with a dragon breathing out blue fire, "I read it from a book, it's known to be really aggressive"
"Evelyn I can't do this, what can I possibly do against a dragon? Magic doesn't work on it"
"We don't know what exactly is the task yet, I doubt you'd be fighting one. We need to tell Cedric, headmistress would definitely tell Fleur and Igor probably caught on. You have to expect the most from death eaters"
"Is it because you fancy Cedric?" Harry turned to look at me.
"What? No! Of course not. We should tell Cedric because who knows, he could give you a clue for the second task when it comes along"
"Well I'll have you to help me out"
"I don't know everything Harry, especially how to face Dragons. We'll go tell him tomorrow, until then get as much rest as possible Harry" He nodded.
