3-8: Buckbeak
"o are we gonna talk about it?" I asked Hermione who was sitting on her bed with her arms crossed. She had been acting differently lately. Just today in divination class she knocked off a crystal ball off the desk before walking off. Even though Trelawney was a little harsh on her basically saying she was going to die a know-it-all but sugar coated, Hermione Granger getting out of class with sass towards the teacher! It was totally unlike her.
"Ron's not talking to me because he thinks Crookshanks are Scabbers when he clearly just lost it. Sirius Black is still nowhere to be found and worst of all Buckbeak is getting executed tomorrow," Hermione groaned. We had just gotten the news from Hagrid. When Lucius Malfoy was notified about Draco's little scratch he was furious. Being the highly respected man he was, he won the case easily and Buckbeak was sentenced to death. I was totally dumbfounded, the one thing that gave me so much joy would have it's head cut off tomorrow, now I really understood Hermione's anger.
"If it makes you feel better Harry's got the Marauders map taken away," I scoffed sarcastically.
"Are you kidding me?!! How can they be some stupid?"
"Tell me about it."
"All they do is eat all day long, they depend on us to survive! Ron is the worst. Always asking me for help on his homework, always teasing me around. It's like he sees me as his mother!!"
"Oh shut up Hermione we get it you guys fancy each other."
"I DO NOT!"
"Okay, okay, I'm kidding."
Hermione let out a large sigh rolling her eyes slouching on her bed.
"...And what about Professor Lupin?" She asked. Professor Lupin, the werewolf. He still hasn't returned to teaching yet, I'm assuming he will after the full moon rises. Although I am quite worried Harry is getting private lessons for a werewolf.
"..I trust him" I thought for a second before replying. If he had bad intentions, there was no reason for him to help Harry from the dementors back on the train. Dumbledore trusted him when he hired him. Even though my respect for him after seeing his favoritism did quite lower, he was a great wizard nonetheless. If Professor Lupin really was up to something he would've noticed by now.
"All the two do is just eat at day and mess things up and we clean after them. Ron is literally the worst have I ever mentioned that? He is such an idiot, my cat would NEVER kill it's rat!"
"Where did he even get the rat?"
"It was his brother Percy's. They had him for 12 years."

"12 years? Merlin's beard how is that thing still alive," Hermione didn't respond. I looked back up at there to see what she was doing, she was just sitting there frozen looking down at the floor with a serious look on her face.
"..That is weird"
"Well what can it be, an animagus?" I joked. It was unexplainable why it had lived to be so old but if it really was an animagus, why would it be with the Weasleys? This was even before Ron had met Harry so it just doesn't add up. "Don't think of it too much we need to visit Hagrid tomorrow in the morning Hermione, we should get some sleep."
"Alright, good night Evelyn."
"Good night," My eyes teared up at the mention of Buckbeak remembering the rush of euphoria I had felt. I would do anything to just go back to that time, it was perfect. Just Harry and I in the sky, no one to bother us.

(OUTFIT REFERENCE!)
The field gave off a weird vibe, crows were everywhere and the green fit he grass seemed faded as if it knew it was Buckbeak's execution date. In the middle sat a man wearing all black sharpening a huge axe. The sound of the rock sharpening the axe sent shivers down my spine as we walked passed. Harry walked up to stand next to me blocking the man's gaze who was giving me the creepiest smirk I've ever seen.
"Can't believe they're going to kill Buckbeak. It's too horrible," Hermione said as we walked out the castle.
"Just got worse," Ron said looking down at Draco and his two minions staring down at Hagrid's hut behind a stone pillar. On the corner of my eyes I saw Hermione stomping her way towards the trio as we quickly followed behind her.
"Ah! Come to see the show?" Draco said noticing us walking towards him.
"YOU- YOU FOUL LOATHED EVIL LITTLE COCKROACH!" Hermione yelled pointing her wand directing on Draco's neck ready to attack at any given moment.
"Hermione no! He's not worth it" Did I mean it? no. Merlin I wanted to see her hex the oblivion out of him but I don't want her to be expelled from Hogwarts. She said that she fears getting expelled more than dying back in our first year so in a way I just saved her life. Draco was full on whimpering, it was quite hilarious. Hermione slowly lowered her want and turned back towards us until Draco let out a laugh. With the blink of an eye, she punched him right in the nose. I couldn't help but let out a laugh.
"Malfoy! Are you okay?" The two minions helped him up as Malfoy ran away.

"That felt good," Hermione nervously smirked watching the three run away whimpering.
"Not good, brilliant," Ron replied. I raised an eyebrow at Hermione, Ron wasn't giving her a total silent treatment.
We walked down the trail to Hagrid's hut. Outside it was Buckbeak. I wonder if it knew it would be his last day today. It looked at me with so much curiosity, just like the first time we had met. It's crazy how attached I became to this beast in such a short period of time, maybe because it finally let me feel free. I quickly looked down covering my face with my hair which now I usually just kept untied. I couldn't dare make eye contact with it, my heart was aching.
"Hello there, come on in" Hagrid said opening the door for us. He didn't have his usual cheery face, just a gloomy one. I don't blame him at all though. Hermione and Ron sat across from each other and Harry went up to the window with Hagrid looking at Buckbeak. I didn't even sit down, I just leaned against a wall with my eyes on the ground and my arms crossed. All my attention were in my eyes, trying to push down the tears that were forming.
"Can't we just let him go?" I asked, my voice was merely a squeak.
"We can't Evelyn, Dumbledore will get in trouble. He's coming down you know, he wants to be with me when they... when it happens.. Great man Dumbledore. Great man" I swallowed back my tears.
"We'll stay with you too Hagrid," My voice was slightly shaking.
"You do no such thing! I don't want you seeing something like that," He frowned. "No, you just drink your tea and be off. Oh, before you do, Ron-" He walked over beside me opening up a little blue box. Inside he pulled out Scabbers, Ron's apparent dead rat and handed it to him.
"Scabbers! You're alive!" Ron exclaimed happily taking the rat out of Hagrid's hand before hugging it close.
"Keep a closer eye on your pets Ron."
"Think that you means someone an apology," Hermione said frowning as she got up out of her seat.
"Right, next time I meet Crookshanks, I'll let him know."
"I meant ME," Hermione gritted her teeth. Suddenly, a vase behind her cracked open making me slightly jump. She examined the rock that had come from the window hitting the vase.
"Ow!" Harry grabbed the back of his head as another rock hit him. Outside the window was no one but three man walking towards Hagrid's hut. Cornelius Fudge, Dumbledore and the executioner.
"It's late. It's getting dark, you shouldn't be here. Someone sees you outside the castle as this time you'll be in trouble! Big trouble particularly you Harry!" Hagrid motioned us to get out through the back door. I felt sick to the stomach, I covered my mouth feeling the need to throw up as I saw the huge axe shine.
"I'll be with you in a moment!" Hagrid motioned is to get out desperately as there were three loud knocks on the door each knock making my hear tear. We all ran out through the back door just as the three man walked in. We all ran behind the pile of pumpkins in Hagrid's front yard. My eyes were glued to the ground, I knew if I looked up I would see Buckbeak.
"...The Hippogriff known as Buckbeak shall be executed this day at sunset" I heard Fudge say. I let out a quiet gasp kneeling down on the ground burying my head in my hands. I felt Harry's hand rest on my shoulder giving it a light squeeze calming my nerves down. I always do that to him when he was anxious.
"Let's go," Ron motioned us as we sprinted back up the hill. I looked back one last time making eye contact with Buckbeak. He let out a roar and I turned away. There were tears falling from my eyes down my cheeks, I was fighting the urge to just stop and start to sob.
We ran up to the entrance to the castle, just next to the stone pillar where Hermione had punched Draco. We stopped and looked back down at Hagrid's hut, the executioner standing next to Buckbeak. Tears started to fall down my face and my hands to shake a little when Harry grabbed it and held it tight. I looked away burying my head into Harry's shoulders as the executioner raised his axe letting out a soft gasp. There was a loud thud and Harry held me close, my dignity wasn't a problem right now and I started crying.
"Ow!" Ron exclaimed dropping Scabbers. "He bit me!" We all looked towards Ron, Harry still holding me close holding my hand.
"Scabbers!" Ron chased after it as Hermione followed. Harry looked at me as I wiped the tears off with my sleeve and taking a deep breath before chasing after him. Harry Hermione and I stopped chasing after him when Ron dived catching Scabbers. Behind him was the Womping Willow.
"You do realize what tree this is?" Hermione exclaimed a little panicked.
"That's not good, Ron, Run!" Harry yelled.
"HARRY HERMIONE EVELYN RUN!!" He pointed behind us. We all snapped out heads looking back to find a black dog growling at us, almost looking like the grim.
