3-2: The Grim
he choir finished singing and went back to their tables as the students all clapped for them. Dumbledore rose from his seat standing at the very end of the great hall.
"Welcome, welcome to another year of Hogwarts. Now I'd like to say a few words before we start our feast. First, please welcome Professor R.J. Lupin, our new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher," Another round of applause broke out as professor Lupin rose from his seat bowing. I recognized him right away, the man that saved Harry from the dementor.
"Potter," I looked behind Harry's shoulder to notice Draco calling out for him whispering.
"Potter!" He whispered a little louder gaining Ron, Harry, and Hermione's attention.
"Is it true you fainted?" The boy next to him acted out fainting as Malfoy smirked. "I mean you actually fainted?"
"Shove off Malfoy," Ron spat turning Harry back around.
"Just forget it," Hermione said glaring at Draco, Dumbledore's voice drowned out in the background.
"....Fortunately this place will be taken by none other.. than Rubeus Hagrid," I wasn't exactly sure what was going on, something about him becoming the next care for magical creatures professor. Nonetheless I joined everyone else and started to clap for him.
"Finally on a more serious note, as a request from the ministry of magic, Hogwarts will, until further notice, have dementors of Azkaban placed on each entrances until Sirius Black in captured," Whispers filled the great hall. That's why a dementor had gotten on the Hogwarts express, though it still didn't quite explain why it attacked Harry.
"Whilst I have been assured that they'll not disrupt our day to day activities, a word of caution to all of you. Dementors are vicious creatures, they will not distinguish between the one they hunt and the one that get in their way. Therefore I must warn each and everyone one of you to not give them any reason to harm you. It is not in their nature to be forgiving. But you must know, happiness can be found even in the darkest times" He concluded sitting back down letting the feast begin.

"Together.. We will cast ourselves into the future!" I jumped up a little after dozing off for a bit. I never dozed off in the middle of class, I guess my sleep schedule had been ruined recently. Professor Trelawney of Divination class was an.. interesting woman. I didn't exactly believe in this future seeing class, Hermione was lucky when she chose Ancient runes over divination.
"This time we'll be focusing on the art of reading tea leaves! Take the cup of the person sitting opposite of you!" She said. The way she spoke, her tone, her outfit, everything, just made her look like a lunatic. Sitting across from me was Romilda Vane. She was a very pretty girl with long black curly hair. She gave me her cup and I handed her mine, Trelawney's voice drowned out in the background once again. I stared at the cup closely, I really tried to see if there was anything there but all I saw was just some ink everywhere randomly on a tea cup.
"I don't see anything," I sighed putting the tea cup down only to realize Romilda wasn't even looking at my cup. I turned around following her gaze, there, Trelawney was hunched over Harry Ron and Hermione's table as Ron flipped through his textbook. Wait, when did Hermione get here? I thought she was taking Ancient Runes.
"He's cute isn't he?" Romilda said.
"Sorry?"
"Harry potter. You're his friend right? Do you think you could-" She was cut off by Trelwaney's sudden shriek throwing the tea cup back down on the table, drawing everyone's attention toward her.
"My dear... You have.. the grim," She tells Harry, shaking.
"The grim? What's the grim?" Seamus shouted from the back of the class.
"Taking form of a giant dog, it's one of the darkest omens of our world. It's an omen.. of death," A Gryffindor boy read out from his book. I looked over at Harry in concern who only stared down at his tea cup. There's no way this bullshit was going to be true, no way.
"By the way Romilda, Harry fancies someone already" I said. She looked at me hurt and in disbelief. I was lying of course, I don't know if Harry fancies anyone. I don't even know why I told her that, just a little rush of jealousy.

"You don't think that grim face got anything to do with Sirius Black do you?" Ron asked as we made our way down for our next class, Care for Magical Creatures.
"Oh honestly Ron if you ask me Divination is completely rubbish. Now Ancient runes, that's a fascinating subject" Hermione said.
"Ancient Runes? Exactly how many classes are you taking?"
"A fair few."
"But Hermione, ancient runes is in the same time as Divination, you must be in two different classes at the same time." I said furrowing my eyebrows.
"Don't be silly Evelyn, how can anyone be in two classes at once? Broaden your minds, Use your EYE to look into the future" Hermione said mimicking Trelwaney.

We followed Hagrid deeper into a forest until we were in a quite big open space. The smell of the forest was one of my favorites in the world. I took my robe off and put it in my bag, it was getting really hot out here in the forest after walking for so long.
"O'right you lot. Less chattering and form a group over there and open your books to page 49," Hagrid said walking away deeper into the forest.
"And exactly how do you do that?" Draco muttered.
"Well just stroke the spine of course! goodness me."
The book was extremely weird looking, it had eyes and some sort of a mouth. Fascinating. As we walked by many students, they were muttering horrible things about the class. How Hagrid was a bad teacher, how bad this class is and so on.
"I think they're funny" Hermione says putting her textbook down on a rock referring to the textbook.
"Oh yeah terribly funny, really witty. God this place has gone to the dogs. Wait until my father hears that Dumbledore's got this oaf teaching classes," Draco spat from behind us with his two minions and Pansy by his side. Merlin he has gotten really good looking.
"Shut up Malfoy," Harry walked up towards him. Everyone was quick to soon surround as Draco's friend 'ooo'ed him. He handed Crabbe his bag and walked up to face Harry looking at him up and down. What a sight to see, two extremely good looking guys fighting. Merlin's beard what am I saying.
He looked up behind Harry and his eyes widened. It looked like he had just seen a ghost, something was wrong. He started to back away little by little shaking a bit even.
"DEMENTOR DEMENTOR DEMENTOR!" He shouted pointing up at the sky. We all turned to face where he was facing to see nothing was there. Gasps were soon replaced by the loud laughing of Draco and their friends. They put their hoods up laughing mimicking a dementor.
"Shouldn't you out of all people be scared of dementors Draco?" I crossed my arms walking beside Harry.
"Yeah? and why is that?" He walked up to me again with a smirk. I walked up closer examining his face closely, his smug smirk, grey eyes.
"Because your father is a death eater, would be a real shame if he received the kiss of a dementor," I leaned in close and whispered in his ear before baking away. His smile disappeared from his face and he stood there shocked looking at me. I was just bluffing when I said, that but I guess I was right, his dad was a death eater. Great, even better. I winked at Draco who was still frozen and pulled Harry back away from him and the crowd.
"Blimey, what did you say to him Evelyn?" Ron said with a huge smile on his face laughing.
"Nothing, don't worry about it."
"Well whatever it was, that was hilarious!" Ron laughed out with Hermione.
"Thanks," Harry said to me.
"If you want, I'll hex him," I said referring back to what Harry said to me and laughed.

The notion that they are God's chosen people, and nothing else existed beyond them became a firmly rooted ideal. An arrogant assertion you say? This is not transcendence, to transcend is to explore the limits of existence, to constantly grow, and lay claim to all the universe has to offer. Transcendence is to not be constrained by ideals, or the planet of your birth, to transcend is to leave behind your Mortal shell, to challenge heaven's law, and formulate your own. Heaven would see mortals bowed in servitude until the end of their days, to reincarnate, and begin another lifetime of worship, giving praise to the gods. A young demon accidentally stepped through the gateway of endless possibilities, will he succumb to heaven's authority?
