❝︎Aren't you supposed to be at beauxbatons?❞︎
01 : Hogwarts
rolled my trolley inside platform 9 and three quarters. My mother still hasn't talked to me and it's been about a week. My father says she loves me, just very disappointed. I see a lot of people staring at me, maybe because I'm a Clermont or my outfit, a blue blouse and white skirts. My hair was in a ponytail with a blue ribbon on it.
I looked over at my father and gave him a big hug, then Fleur, then Gabrielle who was crying saying how much she'd miss me. I look over at my mother who seemed to have tears in her eyes. "Goodbye Mother," I said.
She looked down at me and knelt in front of me to my surprise. "Evelyn, you may have disappointed me so much and made my heartbreak but I still love you, dear, have a great year, and remember, you're a Clermont. Be polite, watch your manners, be elegant. I'll miss you so much," she said. She held back her tears and I remember her telling me crying is a sign of weakness. I nodded and hugged her back and climbed the Hogwarts Express.
I walked down the aisle and entered the nearest corridor with a girl that was already dressed in her robes sitting in it. She was adorable with her big frizzy brown hair and bangs.
"Can I sit here?" I ask knocking.
"Merlin's beard! You're Evelyn Clermont! Of course, you can sit here" The girl says happily. I smiled at her and sat down slowly across from her. She was slouched in her seat while I sat with my back straight. I remember back in my house when Madam Natalia, our 'manners teacher' would always slap my back telling me to keep it straight.
"I'm Hermione Granger! It's so nice to meet you!" She says holding her hand out with a huge grin on her face
"I'm Evelyn Clermont, a pleasure to meet you," I said, shaking her hand. "I don't remember hearing about a Granger family around here"
"That's because I'm a muggle born, you're a pure blood right? I've read about your family on the Daily Prophet!" I noticed how adorable the way she talked was. Her mouth would make very big movements and her eyes were bright. I remember hearing about the muggles, my mother doesn't really like them but I don't mind muggles. We're all witches and wizards anyway.
"Yes, I am," I nodded flashing her a smile. I liked her already, she was very bright and friendly.
Hermione was about to talk when there were 3 very small knocks on our compartment and a boy opened the door. He seemed terrified for some reason.
"H..Hell..o" he said very quietly "C..can I sit here..? All... t..the other seats were full..." He asked Hermione. Then his eyes met mine and his eyes widened. "Oh, I'm... Sorry! I didn't know you would be here! I'll go f..find somewhere else" he said

"Sure, you can sit here" I reply almost out of sympathy. He seemed like he had seen a ghost.
He walked in slowly sitting beside Hermione not closing the door behind him looking down at his feet.
"I'm Hermione Granger, nice to meet you!" Hermione said being the cheerful girl she is. "and you are?"
"N..neville.. Longbottom" He says playing with his fingers. Boy, he seemed terrified.
"My name is-"
"Evelyn Clermont.. I... I read about you" He interrupted. I looked at the poor boy and how his expressions changed when he saw me.
"Did the Daily Prophet say I was a terrible person or something?" I ask curiously wondering why he was so scared of me
"N..no! I just didn't think you would want to sit with me.. because you're a c...Clermont" He explained. I couldn't help but smile, he was so innocent and scared.
"Neville, I don't care if you're a half-blood, a muggle born, rich, poor, or whatever. You don't have to be scared of me I don't judge people based on something they cannot control"
"R..really?" He says looking up slightly at me while Hermione smiles.
"Of course, Is that your pet toad?" I ask looking at a little box with a toad in it to lighten up the mood.
"Yes."
"That's so cool! Can I pet him?" Hermione says.
Neville slowly reaches for his toad and opens the box. As soon as he opens the box though the toad leaps out and out the corridor through the door Neville had forgotten to close. My eyes widened while Neville and Hermione let out two quick shrieks.
"Oh no!! Trevor!" Neville calls out trying to catch it but failing.
"It's okay, we'll get him back," I said standing up chasing after the toad right away. Hermione was quick to follow as she told Neville to stay and relax.
I saw the toad quickly jump into one of the corridors. I wasn't sure which corridor it went into so Hermione and I went towards the open one.
There I saw a ginger and a black-haired boy. I could tell who they were immediately, Ginger hair and.. well.. vintage-like clothing, definitely a Weasley. Black hair with circular glasses, Harry Potter.
"Has anyone seen a toad, a boy named Neville lost his," Hermione said. I notice the room filled with candies.
"No," the ginger boy said looking at Hermione as if she was crazy.
"Oh, are you doing magic? Let's see it."
"Okay.. Sunshine Daisies Butter mellow.. turned the stupid fat rat yellow!" The ginger boy says pointing his wand to his rat only to have nothing happen. I can't help but giggle a little, that was nowhere near a real spell.
"Are you sure that's a real spell?" Hermione asked suspiciously. "Well, it's not really good, is it? Of course I only tried a few simple ones myself but they've all worked for me. She whipped out her wand and sat in front of Harry. I followed her in slowly and sat next to her and in front of the ginger boy whose eyes grew wide as he saw me.

"oculus reparo," Hermione says pointing her wand at Harry's broken glasses. Impressive, I was taught that spell too. "That's better isn't it?" She says as the two boys looked at each other confused by the now completely fixed glasses.
"Holy cricket... You're Harry Potter! I'm Hermione Granger. And.. you are?" Hermione says to the ginger boy with candies stuffed in his mouth. I couldn't dare look at his face, if I did that in my house I would've been disowned!
"Um, Ron Weasley," He said.
"Pleasure."
"I'm Evelyn Clermont," I added on.
"Uh-" we all looked towards the boy who stood up out of his seat and blurted out something as if he wanted to say something.
"Nice to meet you," He said sitting back down.
"Aren't you supposed to be in Beauxbatons?" Ron asks with candy-filled in his mouth
"Long story," I smiled quickly.
"Well, you two should change into your robes. I expect we'll be arriving soon" Hermione says nudging me to leave. I got up and walked out not wanting to see the candy-filled mouth anymore. "You got dirt on your face, did you know that? right here" Hermione adds before walking off to continue looking for Trevor.
"Mental that one," I heard Ron say as I followed.
"You should go to the bathroom right down there and change into your robes too, I'll get the toad" I nod and get my robes and head to the bathroom. By the time I get out though, we had already arrived. Poor Neville, I hope Hermione found his toad already. I looked for her and couldn't find her on the crowded train. Without any choice, I get off the train almost getting pushed by the excited students. I've never been treated like this.
A couple of older students hold the door for everyone. As I got off I thanked an older looking girl and she gave me a nod with a smile. I walked towards the big man saying "Come on, first-years over here," I still couldn't see Hermione since I was at the very back but I just started walking towards the big man anyway. He leads us to some river with boats that seemed to self-row itself. Across the river was Hogwarts, I couldn't help but feel a smile form on my face. I got in line to get on the boat when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I turned around and saw a blonde boy smiling at me with two larger boys on each side.
"You're Evelyn Clermont, nice to meet you. I'm Draco Malfoy," He said with a smirk. I know the Malfoys, our parents know each other from the ministry. Although my parents are much higher than them Malfoy's dad is still a very high-rank person.
"Nice to meet you too," I said. The Malfoys weren't my favorite type of people. I've heard how cocky they are about their pure blood status.
"Aren't you supposed to be at beauxbatons?" He says raising an eyebrow. If someone asks me that one more time I might lose it.
"Long story."
"Well then."
"Evelyn!" I heard a familiar voice call out my name. Hermione, oh thank god. Draco wasn't someone I wanted to associate with. She gave Draco a quick glare and grabbed my arm.
"Do you even know who she is?" Draco scoffed looking at Hermione grabbing my arm.
"Who's this?" She asked glaring at Draco.
"Not sure," I said with a little intention to humble him.
"Well, in that case, let's go to the boat," Hermione said pulling me away. I really liked her, she seems like a friend and not someone who just enjoys my presence around them. I follow her on to the boat and stare at Hogwarts as a smile formed on my face. It looked magical, nothing compared to Beauxbatons. Thank Merlin I chose Hogwarts.
We were all huddled up in what seemed like a hallway.
"So it's true then, what they said on the train. Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts" Draco says with a smirk on his face. With his comments, all the students start whispering.
"This is Crabbe and Goyle. And I'm Malfoy. Draco, Malfoy." Draco says walking towards Harry while Ron let out a snort.
"Think my name is funny, do you? There's no need to ask yours. Red hair and a hand me down robe. You must be a Weasley." He retorts. How rude, I knew I shouldn't have associated myself with him. The ginger boy looked mad, I just watched in pity not knowing what I could do.
"You'll soon find out that some wizarding families are better than others Potter," He says quickly looking at me and then back at Harry.
"You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort, I can help you there" he adds quickly turning his head towards Ron and then turning back holding his hand out. I wondered if Harry Potter, the chosen one, would stand up for his newly found friend.
Harry looked down at the hand for a second and then back up saying "I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself thanks."
I smiled crossing my arms again. Draco was about to say something until a woman tapped him in the shoulder with a paper scroll.
"We're ready for you now," the lady says. "Follow me."

Viridescent Core
Some mortals see dungeons as a plague to destroy. Some mortals see dungeons as a resource to manage and harvest. Some mortals see dungeons as a place to train and advance. However, all of them agree on something. Dungeons are unnatural and deadly. Places where death stalks every corner and monsters thrive. What mortals forget, in their hubris of tools and civilizations, is that Mother Nature is often the deadliest of all. Feel free to write any comment, suggestion, or criticism. I read and appreciate every single one! Releases are on Mondays and Thursdays. With occasional bonus chapters on Saturdays. Have a nice day ^^

Free Your Mind
A journey through the mind can be a mixture of the good, the bad, the pure, and the evil. Free Your Mind is a collection of poems and short stories that I've written over the years. As of now, this book is still in progress, but I've planned to release at least 25 to 30 chapters minimum for Free Your Mind. Hopefully you enjoy reading through the works already published for this book, and I hope you'll stick around for what's to come in the future. If you have any comments, ideas, critiques, etc. please let me know! I'm always open to what people have to say about my work. Free Your Mind is a way for me to dabble into releasing my writings for the public to read. And hopefully, if all goes decent with this book, I'll continue to upload different works alongside this. Note: Currently the cover work for Free Your Mind isn't mine. I plan to upload an original design once I've completed the chapters for this book.
