《It's just me and you》Chapter 3- Walk

I don't know what came over me, I don't know if it was the right decision to say yes, for gods sake I just met this girl, at a bar. She did however protect me from the drunken asshole I had to encounter, not that I needed her protection I was going to give that man a piece of my mind until she got herself involved. I appreciated her gesture, truly I did, I just thought it was stupid but I have no room to judge I remember my younger self all too well, and I wish I didn't. Something still hasn't left my conscience, her name, Y/n. I recognize it, I just can't seem to know from where and she hasn't even given me her last name yet.

I shift my gaze to the door and walk over to it while still checking my shoulder to make sure y/n doesn't fall forward again. I unlock the door and see her compose herself a little, once she notices me looking she offers a lazy smile, it's adorable.

I walk back over to her and offer her my hand which I notice confuses her.

"So you don't fall..again" I say with a tone of playfulness I hope she acknowledges.

She smiles and takes my hand gently. Her hand is slightly bigger than mine, which is nice. I shouldn't be thinking like this, I don't know why I am. I'll work on avoiding that mindset. I'm not a cheater.

We walk to the door and before I can open it, it swings open with three young girls coming in. They definitely used fake ID's.

"Damn she's hot" one of the girls whisper while keeping her eyes on y/n. I mentally scoff and I give her one of my stares so she knows I didn't like her choice of words. She quickly looks down avoiding my gaze. God I love doing that.

We walk out and y/n's grip becomes a little tighter.

"I know an easy exit" she shouts over the loud music.

I nod letting her show me the way.

She walks toward the bartenders booth, I quickly stop her.

"You do realize that's the bar, right?" I ask.

She smiles at me, she's making fun of me.

"I know, come on trust me a little" she says loudly.

I stare at her for a second and I hesitantly let her guide me to this so called exit.

We walk through the booth and I can see the barista is taken aback so I offer a quick apology and follow y/n.

She lets go of my hand and pushes a door and suddenly we're outside.

She smiles "What did I say"

I roll my eyes and continue to walk forward.

Y/n quickly follows behind and I can't help but smile at her eagerness.

"You should smile more often, it suits you" she says with a wide smile across her face.

I scoff and look away.

She speeds up a couple of feet ahead of me.

"Why are you walking in front of me?" I question genuinely concerned.

"I want to see you" she says confidently.

Not going to lie that took me back. She has a way with words. Which probably means she's done this multiple times. Now I'm just overthinking.

"That, and I need to make sure no bad guys come lurking around" she says jokingly.

I laugh and look down at my phone that's currently buzzing. I choose to ignore it. I'm almost home. He can wait.

It's pretty chilly outside and I can't help but get a little cold and I think y/n noticed this because she took her jacket off.

"You don't have to do that" I say.

"I want to. You don't want to catch a cold now do you?" She places the jacket on my back so it hangs from my shoulders covering me up.

I sigh "Thank You"

She smiles and continues walking ahead facing away from me. I need to ask her what her last name is without sounding weird because I know the curiosity will keep me up at night.

"Tell me about yourself" I say somewhat demandingly.

She looks back at me with a small grin.

"You first" she says.

I roll my eyes knowing damn well that she won't take no for an answer. I clear my throat.

"Well, I love books and poetry, when I'm not working I enjoy the outdoors and I occasionally workout" I say and divert my gaze back to y/n.

"Wow, you're such a nerd" she says teasingly.

I can't help but laugh and punch her shoulder at her offensive remark.

"Whatever, now you have to tell me a couple things about yourself" I say impatiently.

She clears her throat mimicking me. I roll my eyes at her gesture. She smiles once she notices.

"Okay um well, I like outdoors and I work out too-"

"You can't just agree with the things I said, come up with new things" I cut her off.

"Alright, alright. I like music, it really helps me through tough times. I like movies, action and thriller sometimes drama, and I like poetry too."

Tough times? I wish she didn't have those. As much as I enjoyed learning things about her, I still don't know why I recognized her name, I guess I'll just have to let it go.

"Really? You like the thriller genre?" I say.

"Of course it keeps me in suspense, like what's going to happen next? and it keep me on the edge and I kinda like that feeling." She says mumbling a bit which I honestly enjoyed.

"What about romance?" I said teasingly.

She thinks about it for a moment.

"Not my cup of tea"

"What? How? it's romance. Have you seen any of them?" I ask concerned.

"Yeah I've seen them, they're always so cheesy or predictable. Guy gets girl boom happily ever after and that's just far from reality." She says confidently.

"Says the one who likes thriller movies" I say teasingly.

She smiles "I guess your right. I don't know, it's just never been a genre I'm head over heels for"

I nod in understanding "I've just never been head over heels for thriller movies" I say.

She turns to face me, an offended expression written on her face.

"Take that back." She says while pointing a finger at me.

I smile. "I don't think I will"

"Watch one with me"

I stop in my tracks. "What?"

"You heard me. Let me change your mind on thriller movies, maybe you'll learn to like them"

I think about it. It's just a movie with a friend. Yeah she's just a friend nothing more.

"Okay, but you'll have to watch a Romantic movie with me" I bite back.

She groans and swings her head back.

"Deal" she sticks her hand out. I shake it and she smiles.

I notice we're right outside my apartment complex and I sigh.

"Well, this is me" I say offering half a smile. I genuinely enjoyed her company so I was somewhat sad to end the night.

Her eyes go wide. "I didn't know you were rich"

I smile. "There's a lot of thing you don't know about me y/n"

a smirk lingers on her lips "likewise" she says keeping her gaze on my eyes.

What does she mean by that?

"Well Scarlett, have a goodnight" she says and turns away.

"Wait" I say and she turns around.

"How will we see the movies if I don't know how to reach you?"

She smiles "I have my ways Scarlett." She says

That just confused me a whole lot more. Why so mysterious? I turn to walk away and I hear her shout.

"Don't think about me too much tonight"

I stay faced away because I knew if I looked back at her she might notice that I blushed a little. As I open the door and walk inside I realize her coat is still on me. I quickly run out but there's no sign of her.

I walk back inside, dreading the conversation I'm about to have with Colin but that's how relationships work, communication. We may be having our problems but I know if we both try we can fix it.

As I'm walking back to the club I realize I left my jacket with her and I mentally scold myself. That Jacket was a gift from my father. Not that he can't buy me all the jackets in the world but he bought that jacket for me with his very first check from his company.

He owns this business called "Y/L/N Arch" it's an architecture design company and he built it from scratch and it's a big hit. I didn't come from money but I'm thankful to my dad for working his ass off so I could have a good life.

He doesn't live far from my college. He lives in a house, well mansion to be exact but that doesn't matter. I asked him if I could get my own place so I could learn to be independent, plus I hate dorm rooms they invade privacy and it's just not my thing. I live in this penthouse 20 minutes away from my college.

I usually don't tell people I'm rich. I have my reasons but mostly it's because their whole personalities change around me. Cameron my best friend know's of course because he's been with me forever and part of that is because he doesn't care whether I'm rich or poor.

Anyways, I'll get that jacket back eventually, I have to. Wait.. CAMERON. Holy shit how did I forget about him. Scarlett distracted me and I forgot about my best friend in a club. Wow I'm a great friend.

I start running back to the club. I feel my phone buzz so I stop and check it.

😏

A sudden wave of relief passes over me. Thank God. I'm such an idiot. I shoot him a quick text letting him know it's okay.

"All good. Please be careful. Seeing as your going with him, it kinda sounds like you do need a ride 😉 xx"

"🖕

I smile at his text and shut off my phone. I continue my way to the club because I left my car there.

As I arrive, I realize I'm still drunk. I'm not about to be one of those reckless drunk drivers, I'm better than that, better than my mother. I guess I'll just have to sleep in my car tonight, good thing I have tinted windows.
